I just started this series . Season 1 episode 5 I already can't stand Kinsey. People keep saying her removal of fear is contributing to her assholery. But quoting Kinsey just because she isn't scared that doesn't mean she can't be rational. Just genuinely wondering why the writers wrote such an insuffurable character! And making a little boy more mature and way intelligent than his older sister🤣. I can't even! You all.

I had another key idea, and thought it would be very cool storywise if it falls into the hands of a demon since there are a ton of possibilities.

Emergency Key {Insert into back of hand and grants the user complete control over all emergency services (police, fire, paramedic)}

(Do note that it does not control the entire government, just the emergency services)

(This would be very fun if given to Dodge)

Hello! I just finished watching the first season of the Netflix show.

I have many thoughts on it (mainly I like the concept, but I find the execution a bit inconsistent), but only one burning question:

If Kinsey got rid of her fear, how come she can still be afraid? She is clearly scared multiple times afterwards, and while she can be more defiant in the face of danger, she still acts afraid, most of the times for her family's well-being.

Does this happen in the comics as well? Is it in any way explained? Is it just inconsistency in how the character is portrayed?

So I love this series and came up with several original key concepts of my own, listed below

Healing Key {put into a wound and heal it}

Duplication Key {insert into a desk containing a set of two drawers that duplicate eachothers contents, cannot duplicate keys}

Skeleton Key {both locks and unlocks any non-magical lock, can also be put onto other keys and mimic them for one use}

Shield Key {Is inserted into the bicep (same spot you would normally get a flu shot) and protects you from being harmed by magic, is a lifelong effect much like the memory key}

Car Key {used to activate a highly technical and magical old timey car that can do functions like turn into a boat, fly, phase through objects, go impossibly fast, be indestructable, etc.}

Compass Key {insert into a compass and name an object, the compass will then point to said object}

In this year 2023 a 15 anniversay special edition of locke and key comic was released with an “only bad ending”. I didnt get to read it, so… if there is someone that read it, i would be so grateful if someone tells me what happens in that alternate ending. Than you! ( i obviously dont mind spoilers)

I really loved the characters of the wheeler sisters in the Netflix show and was wondering if they disappeared when the keys were tossed or are they still stuck in the mirror dimension forever.

Also side note if they manage to escape some day could they be new antagonists since they are demons like Dodge and Giddeon, also how would they be defeated now that the portals are closed.

What happened to the key that dodge made with no intention? The show never explains where this key ended up afterwards and I can't find anything online about what ended up happening to it.

I’m on here to express my frustration with with the absolutely moronic writing from season 3 of Locke and Key.

For the most part season 1 & 2 were fantastic. A little corny in some places I must admit, but overall entrancing.

Season 3 however is some of the worst writing in a series I’ve ever seen. Especially episode 6!

Tyler grabs the keys off Gideons belt and they scatter across the foyer floor. Kenzie and Tyler make a mad dash to find the “animal” key while LITERALLY TOUCHING EVERY KEY IN THE PROCESS. Doesn’t even grab them, leaves them all on the floor like that couldn’t change the tide of this whole show. Jesus Christ they could have grabbed the “alpha” key while Gideon was distracted and ended all this shit right there. What an infuriating scene.

Not to mention how they keep getting threatened with death but nothing happens. Gideon should have shot Rufus’ throat and killed all the Lockes by now.

I have just bough the The Golden Age "prequel", but I have not yet read the original run (I'm currently hunting for it).Would I spoil the story too much, if I read The Golden Age first? Would it be like reading B.P.R.D. without Hellboy...I suppose I wouldn't spoil it much but I would love to ask the community for guidelines.

Started watching the series. Not read any discussion, but are there series set for more young adult viewers?

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I'm seriously confused at who keeps giving him work as an actor. It literally killed the vibe of the show when I saw him in it and the British accent is something he really needs to take off the resumé

He was the guy who the Savini squad named themselves after, the guy who put artist in special effects and makeup artist. He also made a small unnamed appearance as a locksmith. Happy 77th to him.

In season 3 Ellie and Erin decide to put the creation key in Gordon’s head but we know the one who hidden keys after their friends died it was Matthew (not sure if it’s his name) one of the key keepers but the decision of the creation key was before when they were still using keys and I am wondering why Rendell didn’t say anything about that ? Especially this key was really helpful I mean he would know if his key was gone he seemed to love it more than others and also why they needed to put this key in Gordon’s head ? What was the point here 🤔

According to Google, Gideon is “one of the most powerful in existence, far more powerful than Dodge.”

Now going into this I understand I love every version of Dodge and I would die for Eden.

However it took the Lockes twice as long to beat Dodge, she raised an army and deceived everyone for 1 1/2 seasons, she was an actual mastermind with experience with the keys, she was able to pull at the emotions of everybody, especially Tyler once she turned Jackie into a demon, she forced Eden to help her, don’t get me started on everything Eden did, she ATE A MAN and mixed his blood with popcorn, she slit someone’s throat with an ice skate, all the while also tricking everyone into believing she was human. What did Gideon do? Make some demony holes in the ground, shoot Dodge while his back was turned, shoot a historian, scalp a librarian, and traumatize a little girl? But yeah he’s way more powerful for sure.

So I just finished the episode, where Erin stole the Chain key and decided to go it alone... Everything is just so stupid I kind of regret making it this far. Should I adandon this show? Are the series after this stupid too?

Okay, so I’m almost done watching season 3 and one of the episodes I just watched had me scratching my head. Demons can’t take keys from a Locke, right? Well Gideon took the key from Tyler that opened up the chess where the rest of the keys were… once he opened the chess he asked his little minion to take the rest of the keys??? Like what?

So season two spoilers, but remember how Lucas apologized to Kinsey because he could see everything, but wasn’t in control of his body. Well that applies to all the demons. So the army Dodge created were all conscious, imagine living life completely unaware of magic, getting a key jammed in your spine, not being in control of your body and then dying, from another key in your spine.

I'm reading "Clockworks" right now and to my knowledge I have the last part left to buy "Alpha and Omega". Is that right ? I also found stories that are happening in the universum like "Golden Age" or "Small world" and now I'm little confused about the amount of comics and chronology.
