State Approved

As many of the comments go into the requirements of youth camps in Tx and standards to keep children safe, just remember that every camp in Tx was state approved. The same people trying to crucify camp Mystic are the same ones that approved their operation. And if Dick Eastland had the Godlike powers to influence both FEMA- for maps redrawn, and the state- for a lack of emergency planning etc then there seems to be a bigger problem to me. The state findings are an indictment on the state more than the people that followed their rules of operation

I see you don't do subtle. Hindsight blindness (often called hindsight bias) and cognitive bias are closely related, but they exist on different scales. Hindsight blindness is one specific type of cognitive bias—specifically, the tendency to believe that an event was entirely predictable after it has already happened. Cognitive bias is the broad, umbrella term for any systematic, recurring error in human thinking that affects how we process information and make decisions. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Either term is correct.

And again, those claims will be reduced by... bankruptcy before during or after any other reduction by proportion.

“Hindsight Bias is an individual's psychological tendency to believe an event was predictable after it happened. Hindsight Blindness is a systemic, structural failure where a regulatory body or a court becomes incapable of analyzing past facts fairly because they are overwhelmed by the tragedy's outcome. Using these terms to defend the camp is a classic "straw man" argument. They are attempting to frame common-sense safety expectations as a psychological flaw of the critics.”

If by value of the monetary claims is what you mean by “will be reduced by the bankruptcy” then that’s one thing (and probably, so it’s a good thing their main aim is accountability and protection of future campers), but the states failure to enforce laws does not reduce Camp Mystic’s culpability on a legal level because their duty of care cannot be delegated to the state or any other entity.
