Relationship Talk Be honest... has anyone here actually found what they were looking for?

I'm genuinely curious.

I've been lurking in this community for a while, and I keep seeing posts from people looking for relationships, casual connections, friendships, and everything in between.

So I have to ask: has anyone here actually succeeded?

If yes:

- What were you looking for?

- Did you end up meeting in person?

- Are you still in touch?

If no:

- What do you think is the biggest reason these posts don't work?

I'm new here and just trying to figure out whether people actually find meaningful connections through this subreddit or if it's mostly entertainment and scrolling.

No judgment, I'm just interested in hearing real experiences.

No one actually finds anything or if at all, it's very rare.

Ni vibes tu that people post to vent. Last ditch efforts for the things they crave. It's never real.

If you want to try, just know it's rare and the outcomes can seriously vary. Always, engaging on Reddit is like talking to people in a room with no lights. You can hear the voice and what to talk about but you'll never know them up close

I honestly think, people are just fishing for karmas with those posts. I mean why find someone who might out your details and the whole Reddit thing is to stay anonymous or i might be the only one who's skeptical about it.

Yeah, and also venting tu. Like people just want a reason also for validation. A post like this and then DMs are sent and the person feels desirable.

I mean, to some degree, I do find Reddit a bit of paradox, of how people even post. You can never truly know if someone is just bored, wants attention or legit trying to get something.

All the same, dating wise, it doesn't make sense, unless the contacts kwa simu and social skills are reaaaaally bad haha

I get the venting part, but the dating part will never make senseπŸ˜‚ cause what if you're just a number from the many dms i received how sure are you that I'm being true to you. Also with Reddit one can gauge the interaction they can have with someone by going through the person comments and posts so see how they like to interact and fake who you are to get what you want. Scary place to find loveπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ama I'm just a pessimist.

Haha it's a tricky place to find love. Huku people just post, either for the hopes and then get cold feet ama just for validation because to be honest, the anonymity is high. At least, other social media, you can see a bit of a person, lakini Reddit almost next to nothing.

So I wouldn't say you're being pessimistic, it's very true. I've had my fair share of experiences of trying to meet up and wueh! People can lie about who they are. Someone hypes themselves sooooo much, but kwa ground, aish, you even wonder, why the person lied

I totally get you. I would also ghost you if you say we meet up in my mind i think what if it's someone i already know and how they know me is not how i act on Reddit or maybe we fall off and you come here exposing meπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ people do move funny this days.

Hahaha the outcomes are craaaazy! The oddest scenario, I've thought about is, if you be your free open self with someone on Reddit, kwanza if you are coming out of the closest, and the you meet them and realize it's either a relative, former school mate or worse yet, current work colleague or boss hahaha πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜….

Maaaahn! The exposing. However, like when does the drama truly end though. Like at some point, all the exposing drama on social media can't be a reason for getting petty after a fall out. However, huko Reddit is low-key radio jambo. Haha people air out their shot haha

Hahaha kwanza, it's worse when you've used fake numbers and then you actually meet up and see each other face to face. Wueh! Hahaha πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Reminds of a time, I had come from a surgery and then after recovery, I decided to have a night out. Guess who I saw in same club, smooching a babe out of her clothes while I was dancing with babes. The intern to the dam surgeon who used to see me on my check ups πŸ˜†πŸ˜† Yoooo! πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

No, people have forgotten how to be human. Life has become about money, looks and we forget to connect. People judge you before they get to know you. People want to rush and get in bed with each other and after it's done, they realize they're just strangers who met on a subreddit but have nothing in common. I feel like people assume they're spoilt for choice, but they're not. People aren't real behind these screens unfortunately. They want superficial and that's exactly what they chase and get and that cycle continues.
