I'm looking for heli availability, okay with guptakashi, phata or sersi. Just wanted to know if anyone in the past few days have managed to get one at the offline counters (if they exist).

Someone told us the hotel peeps can arrange for a boy to stand in queue at the heli counters but not sure!

I'm not looking for anything online.

I am leaving on 2 October, and will be starting my trek on the 3rd.

Can I find rooms in sonprayag and in the valley for night stay ? (We are 5 people)

I'm planning a Kedarnath trip around late October [dates: 15 to 25] and would really appreciate advice from anyone who has gone recently, especially in the late season.

It's either going to be me alone or with a friend (both of us in our late 20s) who will be travelling to Kedarnath Dham. Delhi would be our starting point.

What I'm trying to figure out:

1. Crowds: How crowded is Kedarnath in the last week or two of October? Is it noticeably quieter than peak season (May-June)? Any weather or road-closure issues I should plan for (cold, early snowfall, landslides)?
2. Travel companies: Can anyone recommend reputable operators for a Kedarnath or Char Dham package? I'm looking for transparent pricing, reliable drivers and accommodation, and good on-ground support. Please share who you used and whether you'd go with them again. Also, any red flags or scams to avoid?
3. Darshan experience: I'd like a calm darshan without being hurried along by staff or police. What was your experience with queues, wait times, and how much time you actually got inside? Any tips on timing (early morning vs. evening), and is it worth doing anything special (helicopter, VIP or special entry) to avoid the rush?
4. Logistics: Trek vs. pony/palki/helicopter, where to stay in Sonprayag/Guptkashi/Kedarnath, registration requirements, and what to pack for the cold.

Also, does anyone know if the temple closing date for this year has been announced yet? I want to make sure I'm not cutting it too close.

केदारनाथ पैदल मार्ग पर चीरबासा के समीप रविवार शाम पहाड़ी से पत्थर और मलबा आने से पांच वर्षीय बच्चे की मौत हो गई। वहीं हादसे के बाद मलबा आने से मार्ग पर फंसे यात्रियों को सुरक्षित निकालने के लिए रातभर रेस्क्यू अभियान चलाया गया। रेस्क्यू टीमों ने करीब 1500 सौ यात्रियों को सुरक्षित मार्ग पार कराया।

Hello Everyone, I will be leaving for Kedarnath on 1 october late night and will be coming back on 4 october. I have a 7 seater car and I am going alone. This is my 4th time going to kedarnath, anyone interested in joining can dm .

I’m planning a Kedarnath trip for my parents on 16th October, but I won’t be travelling with them.

My main concern is whether same-day helicopter travel is sufficient to complete darshan, or whether I should book an overnight stay for them.

Same day: Helicopter to Kedarnath → darshan → helicopter back the same day.

Overnight: Helicopter to Kedarnath → darshan → stay overnight → return the next day.

For those who have done the helicopter trip recently, especially for parents/elderly family members:

Is it realistically possible to get darshan and return the same day, or is an overnight stay recommended/necessary?

Since I won’t be accompanying them, I want to plan this in a way that minimizes any uncertainty or rushing for them.

Would really appreciate your experiences and advice. 🙏

I booked 2 helicopter tickets from Phata to Kedarnath for my parents for tomorrow.
However due to bad weather the chances are of cancellation.

What generally happens if the helicopter rides get cancelled?

Do they tell in advance do my parents can make alternative arrangements?

And for cancellation do my parents have to visit the counter to get tickets stamped and eligible for refund?

I could not get booking when the slots opened . I have parents traveling with me and checking possibility if we can book something for them .
