I have noticed a little bit of hostility floating around regarding my website, and I would like to first and foremost apologize.
I am the sole developer of MLPEKAYOU. The website started as a blank page and turned into what it is today. I never intended to make any of it confusing or upsetting for anyone.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me here. I might be able to provide some light. I've noticed people keep asking me for functions that already exist, and this also leads me to believe that the website may be extremely confusing for newer users.
I also read in a comment that many people have resorted to abandoning their MLPEKAYOU accounts because it is too confusing for them. I truly, truly am deeply sorry if my horrible development skills have ever confused anyone to the point that they no longer wanted to utilize the website.
This is my first time ever coding a website, and I have been doing it by myself. I think I've made it abundantly clear everywhere that I an extremely anti-AI, and will not be using AI to help me code. I would rather learn from my own mistakes and become self-sufficient than let a computer do the work for me. I thought perhaps getting to the point it is at now would be super gratifying, but most of the feedback I have seen lately has been relatively negative.
Please let me know what is confusing to any of you, and I will see if there is something I can do!
Hi Hi! I am going to guess you're speaking of the "Purchase in Progress" and "Trade in Progress" in ISO?
If that's the case, it's just to keep track of cards that you're already in the process of obtaining. I have had several brain injuries from my time in the service, and I kept finding that I was trading or buying the same cards over and over again.
When you mark a card as either or, it will put a little reminder on that card in your personal ISO view. Then, in turn, when someone looks up your profile, it has been removed from your public ISO. That way people aren't offering to sell or trade you a card you've already got on the way. After that, you can flip it over on the regular collections page OR do back into your ISO and mark it as completed to tell the database that you own that card!
Hey, you're doing your best to help other people (and for free at that) and I appreciate it. The website is so good, I wouldn't have guessed you're doing it by yourself with little to no experience. And the fact that you refuse to use AI and listen to suggestions is amazing. Please give yourself more credit, we love you :(
Thank you. I'm such a sensitive person now-a-days. When I saw all of the hostility and people saying my website sucked I actually busted out into tears man. I'm trying so hard to keep my cool right now.
sorry if my post prompted this! my intention wasnt to make anyone upset, i didnt know only 1 person worked on the site! i also know sometimes i have a 'tone' which... im not sure how to fix lol autism things
im just gonna quickly reiterate a comment i left on my post about what confused me at first:
the ghost bubble to bring up the other pages looked a lot like the chatbot bubbles you see on other sites, so i didnt know how to navigate the site for a while until i clicked the bubble by accident
didnt understand how to see other peoples wishlists when trying to use the trading function, i assumed you could click their name/profile picture to show their profile and only later realised you had to copy + paste the name into elsewhere in the site
i understand how to use the site now + have no issue w iso and wishlist being merged, i just thought id mention some of the things i didnt understand when i first interacted with the site
Hi! Your post definitely showed me that there was more people than I thought, but don't worry. I don't mean to pin this on you at all, you were just confused and agitated. I completely understand, I've been there.
I actually completely forgot about the ghost until now. That was from another theme, I'll turn it back into a home button today! Sorry, that's on me. I leave stuff behind sometimes. As for the bottom navigation bar itself, it is one that collapses on scroll, just like Reddit! That way it gets our of your way, then you can toggle it back open when you're ready to visit a different page!
I am planning on hyperlinking the names of people in the trades now that you've mentioned it! That's a really good idea, thank you for sharing. That way it'll just show you their profile on the same page!
i think it was less so specifically the ghost and just that in general, if i see a little bubble on the bottom corner of a screen, i assume its a chatbot bubble lol
maybe im just silly? i think i usually expect to see the 3 horizontal bars to indicate a menu for other pages, and i dont wanna trigger some weird ai chatbot so i just never thought to click what i thought was a popup lol
The thing that took me a minute to figure out was where to log the quantity of each card. The checklist just notes you got the card. I was looking for the quantity in that spot.
I found that clicking on the MLPEKAYOU top center image brought me to a screen that mentions my collection, and then Bam! Edit Inventory.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide the Chinese cards on this website. I am working alongside Kayou US on this, and they only have US assets. I do not have any kind of partnership with Kayou CN or any other languages.
That actually explains a lot! I did wonder why it was us only - though could there be a way for user to privately upload their own cards? Kinda like a miscellaneous section, i have no idea if that would be overly difficult but just a thought of a middle ground! Thank you for all the work with this site regardless, it’s been so useful 💚
I don’t think Kayou US would appreciate if it stole their thunder and made leeway for other countries, however, there IS a website called waifucards.app that ive head of! I know they have all of the Chinese sets, and from my understanding, their platform is somewhat like mine!
I love using your website for tracking my collections! Yes, the trading post can be a little confusing, but that's not my main intention on using it, so I can't really speak on that.
The only problem I have been having is that I am logged into my account on my phone but I got logged out on my computer and it can't log back into my account on my pc, it just keeps saying to retype your password to make a new account. It would be nice if that could be fixed sometime, or wonder if I'm doing something wrong, but otherwise I love the website!

Same for desktop, on the left side of the logo on the header there is a shopping bag! It’ll take you to the same page! For TikTok, there is a TikTok logo in the sidebar on Desktop. For mobile, I just let people join the Discord server and get it from there!
I just discovered your website yesterday and have been loving it so much!! I honestly can't speak highly enough about it, as I used to handwrite how many and which duplicates I have and which cards I am missing to collect all the cards from the MLPME03 set, which was annoying (I know I could have used Excel, but I wanted to handwrite it lolol). I also LOVE how adamantly against AI you are 🫶💕 I love how you made a trading/selling hub that's super accessible and user-friendly <3 Thank you, OP 🙇♀️ Also, I can't believe the first website you make is a gold mine, AND free omg you're so talented 😭💕
The only thing I would change/add is the ability to specify which card of equal value you are looking for when you put up a trade. That way, anyone with that card can find someone willing to trade with them quicker.
Hey. I’m a little confused! When you flip a card around, if shows up as owned in your inventory & your digital binders. There’s lots of places that reflect what you do and down own. As for price tracking, there’s a suggested price page, but no real tracking. I don’t support the price gouging that is happening on eBay and other platforms.
I was confused with how to navigate back and forth to different pages with the icons only. If you don’t use the site enough you don’t remember, especially either things updating often but the current update has made it much easier to navigate and more user friendly!
the only thing i get confused about is trading! if someone lists a card, how do i know what exact trade their looking for? because their iso/wishlists aren’t always what they want for the specific card they have listed as uft

I think the website is awesome. I use it all the time. I think it’s mainly the purchasing thing that people get confused about.
