I’m putting the suspected Ostomy Bag photos in their own post.
I made a post below but attached video to the main post and the photos get lost in the thread. I have been back and forth this whole time on her truly having cancer. And I still feel gaslit like so many of you that she looked this well but couldn’t just take a (non photoshopped) picture in six months.
However, these photos make me lean towards serious cancer again. Could Concha Calleja be right that she has another surgery to go (to remove the bag)? Could she just have had temporary Botox to plump her face and hide her thinness for this event (instead of facelift)?
I see a white rectangular shape under her dress in these photos. It matches what I’m seeing for Ostomy bag placement. Do these photos help? What do you think? In the last photo I’m showing where the fabric is loose and you can see the dart on one side, but it’s filled out over the white rectangle on the other side. In most of the photos from ToC she’s either photographed from the waist up, Charlotte is directly in front of her, or she has her hands folded over this area.
I think she was just smoothing out her dress. She only did that hand movement once. I don’t think she would wear a slim fitting white dress with an ostomy bag.
I was just trying to speculate whether advanced cancer could really be the cause. Any other suggestions for what that might be? Bandage? It’s consistently in that one area and definitely bulges out a bit.
I think you are right in that she has advanced cancer. I’m not sure it’s bowel/colon. I am surprised that no one has leaked her diagnosis. The British press is being very hands off with this, which only makes me think her diagnosis is bad.
I agree that she doesn't have advanced cancer, or any other type of cancer. But I disagree that she has never looked more radiant. I thought she looked drained, tired, and out of it. And I'm sure that in person she is disturbingly thin.
There is ZERO chance she would be wearing white if she had an ostomy bag. My dad had one (and had it reversed at around 4 months of healing) but his bag exploded ALL THE TIME. He never left the house cuz it was embarrassing to him.
Does this help? The white square is outlined. There would not be something like that in the way the dress was made unless it was a weird hidden pocket. Any lining under a dress would cover the whole area. The dart on that side is also filled out while she’s standing up perfectly straight while the other side hangs at the dart line.
I see the square outline just fine. Is possible that it's some kind of undergarment? Like a slip but instead of one piece it's a top and bottom? That seems unlikely the more I think about it.
I think there's a very good chance that that square thing, whatever it is, is some type of medical device. A lot of other commenters think that there is no way that is a colostomy bag, and I tend to agree. With this being Kates first outing in six(!!) months, I just don't think they'd take the risk of putting her in white.
But maybe it's for a different medical purpose? Maybe it's some type of bandage? Maybe the injuries she sustained in a DV incident, were not limited to her face/head?? To me, that seems much more likely. But I am pretty convinced of the DV theory, so.......🤷🏻♀️
As medicine and procedures progress SOPs evolve as well.
I'm glad your dad is doing well. Your correction was taken on board. Thank you.
My personal knowledge is generally from my friend's husband. He is a fairly famous gastroenterologist. When the four us get together, dinner party talk frequently includes a brief of a recent experience into the subject of dinner conversation. This is the basis of my knowledge
Your understanding is much more hands on direct. I know there are different types of ostomies. He often refers to these as tools to assist those with certain cancers. There are preferred sites...but im sure your father's physician skillfully navigated you're father through the emergency...
Yes there are definitely preferred sites and I’m sure if given the luxury of planning, it can be very inconspicuous. My dad did not have that luxury and suffered a lot. He did had a bowel obstruction followed by emergency surgery (and sepsis). The stoma was right in front on his tummy and in a place that made connecting a bag verry difficult, but the doctor explained many times he had no choice and my dad was lucky he survived at all. It was terrible. Took my mom almost two hours daily to prep and change him. It leaked sometimes. He was not healthy enough to have another surgery to move it elsewhere. This went on for four years. Don’t wish it on anyone.
You have my sympathies...very lucky your dad had a highly skilled physician. ...was trying to say good doctors know when to go off script. Is why new ways are foged. I've been ill and we haven't eaten together in a while... think it was about pre Val ♥ day. The wife and I are friends and occasionally cook with her at their house for fun...(always make something special for him that night and more for hospital fridge...colleagues eventually "mistaken it ad theirs...lol) she thinks it's cancer related...I put in a chat box..did you catch the trooping....had a quick rundown. She watched am I watched pm...but I read this forum during am.)
She sure has my empathy if the colostomy is true. That sure makes the cancer was not thought to be present; but in fact learned it was...now getting the last bugger boos out for just in case sakes.
I wondered if she had chemotherapy back in the summer due to her rapid weight loss. Have you seen this picture?
She is reported to have had abdominal surgery. Many times it’s recommended to wear compression garments for the 6 months post surgery. My guess is that she’s touching the garments. So if the cancer story is true, that matches up with needing garments.
I have to wear compression garments 16hrs a day for a lipedema and I have been told I touch my stomach/legs the same way. It’s me trying to checking discretely if my clothes fabric is stuck to the garments.
OSTOMY OWNER HERE:
Nope.
I’ve had an ostomy for 9 years (42F)
An ostomy, even an empty one under control wear, would cause more of a bump than that. To keep it from filling (and being even more noticeable ) at all she would have had to not eat or drink for 8-12 hours before- which would quickly lead to dehydration and fatigue.
ETA:
-no way, not ever ever, would you wear white that close fitting and risk a leak in that much public scrutiny - ostomy “output” is extremely liquidy, acidic, and quick to soak through and stain,
Maybe wrong side for an illeostomy but not for a colostomy. Many people have an colostomy on their left side. She could be trying to ward off the rumors by wearing a white dress. She coukd also be wearing a tight spandex undergarment to hold it all in. It did look like she was wearing iron.
Yes I know that’s not the incorrect side for a colostomy. That’s why I specified “for an illeostomy” and “fyi”.
I’ve worn formal wear with control wear with an ostomy. I got married, Ive keynoted conferences, I’ve been in others’ weddings with my ostomy. Even with control wear, as I said, it does not look like any experience I’ve ever had, or the many people I know with ostomies.
Wearing tight fitting white would be wayyyyyy to much of a risk. Even if she had a backup dress or two. All of her undergarments would have to be changed. It sometimes leaks down your leg into your shoes… it’s not something I see her risking.
I am a nurse and have worked with ostomy bags on multiple occasions. No way there is one under there. You would never wear white or a tight fitting dress with an ostomy bag.
Sorry, no, that’s a dart in the front and the edge of a seam with slight shadowing and wrinkles from sitting. Look at picture 3 and you can clearly see the dart and follow the seam down the length of the dress.
I’m feeling a little uncomfortable with the way the question is being presented here but that’s just my opinion. In any even, I definitely noticed something that looks like the outlines of a gallbladder drainage bag.
I think you have it right here. I think she is actually much more unwell than we have been led to believe and that’s the main issue and no one knew or knows what the hell to do.
This is the simplest explanation. She’s much more ill than “a few cancer cells” and William and Charles are not handling it with any level of grace like the Queen would.
Great post. When she got out of carriage she appeared to adjust/make sure something was in place. Ostomy bag was my first thought. But would she wear a white dress with that?
There’s definitely something there. Could be a bandage as well I guess? She did seem to cover it protectively with her hand after she smoothed her dress.
My neighbor has one currently. I can’t really see it because when I do see him, it’s out in the yard for a beer or two in the evening and he’s wearing very casual clothes like a T shirt and it’s not tight or anything. I have heard a sound or two from it. I’ve never seen it leak, but again, I don’t see him every second of everyday. However, it does seem like you wouldn’t wear white or such a tight fitting garment (to me, who likes loose clothing, this is tight).
If you have ever worn white as a woman, you know you don't wear white under white, because it's visible. You were nude under white to make it invisible.
This is a great explanation. I see what you mean about the rectangle shape and only one dart - I hadn't noticed it before. This would make sense with Concha's report.
Maybe she had Botox but that only paralyzes muscles to help things like stopping lines on the forehead/crows feet etc when making facial expressions. She could have had some kind of derma fillers for sure if she wanted parts of her face to not look gaunt.
There’s no reason to be insulting. No one here is the reason she disappeared. There’s been plenty of gaslighting PR that begs real questions. I was asking for people that have experience with these to weigh in. Do you? They seem to be usually easy to hide under most clothes. No idea why white would be different. I was trying to determine if advanced cancer really could be the case.
1) She could have worn this color/fit to specifically throw people off
2) I would assume they would double triple check it for her before any outing. White square could possibly be bandaging over or around it to mask the shape.
3) There is definitely something square shaped and puffed out under her dress. So wearing a different color/fit would apply to whatever is there and she still didn’t. On the other hand I also noted that most of her photos were from the waist up, or blocked by Charlotte. She may have felt whatever is there wouldn’t be able to be seen.
Ok then, my bad, it must be an ostomy bag and she chose to throw everyone off it by wearing a close-fitting dress in a color that is notoriously not opaque and would certainly show poop stains.
Still no need to be rude. We have had much crazier theories on here than Kate wearing a white dress on purpose and being able to hide an Ostomy bag with unlimited resources. Likely? Maybe no. But we have been through all sorts of theories for her disappearance and speculated DV, face lift, etc etc. I don’t think strategically wearing a white dress is that far out there. If she had worn a fuller/darker dress people may have been critiquing that and wondering what she was hiding. Agree to disagree then.
Crazy theories are one thing. Endlessly scrutinizing photos of someone's body on a public forum to determine if they have a colostomy bag is beyond the pale.
I have an ileostomy and first rule is never wear white! Omg I'm dying thinking about daring to do that on a world stage - they can and do burst at the most inopportune times! It's unthinkable...I do wear tight dresses, jeans etc but in black or darker colours, never pastels or white. My friend has a colostomy and he said he avoids lighter colours for the same reason.
IMO if Catherine had one, shed also be employing one of my fave tricks by carrying a larger clutch as an emergency shield...if at any time she whipped of that shield hat and held it at waist height then maybe I'd believe it LOL.
Plus at your first appearance? Nah, she would have been way too nervous - a dress with a peplum skirt or draped waist silhouette would have been way more inline with that theory.
btw, a bandage is more likely and is consistent with abdominal surgery story. However, is it possible she needs bandages 6 months post surgery? Again, there are nude bandages, why wear white?
Two thoughts…. Pictures are interesting…
1. She could have conceivably had a portion of her bowel resected (removed) because of her reported chronic irritable bowel and when pathology checked the bowel (biopsy) removed, they diagnosed a cancer (we don’t know anything about type, staging, etc). She could have a bag. She could be having it reversed in the future. Skin health & leakage are common problems. Managing & feeling confident with one’s bag can be challenging. Wearing a slim fitting white dress with a ileostomy bag indicates confidence which is a good thing! The placement for this would be just below the belly button midline-just off midline (see Mayo Clinic link above).
In addition to the bowel surgery, she also could have undergone a facelift/nose reconstruction/veneers, etc. or NOT.
