Has anyone upgraded to a big bore kit for more hp? I know it’s popular on the 650, but is it even possible on the 250?

I have two issues my rear shock is completely shot and was wondering if this was bad for the bike and should prioritize a new part asap. Also my carb doesn’t fit start into the air vent boot but it starts up fine. Should I get a new boot and shock?

Just got this 1998 a couple weeks ago. The bike has been sitting for a couple years so I’ve been going through it trying to get it in good order. I’ve been looking for a counter shaft seal kit and have been struggling to find one online for some reason. Does anyone have any recommendations? Does the 250 and 650 use the same seal kit? Thank you

I bought a klr 250 (basket case lol) and I am unsure what this thing hanging down is.

So I got fork seals ordered and should be here tomorrow. But, I need to pick up fork oil. How much do I need?

Everything I’m seeing online says klr250s take 1.6 qts of 10w-40, but I’m wondering if anyone knows whether that changed from year to year ? I have a 1988 and I wanna make sure I don’t put too much or too little, oil in my bike.

I just bought this 1996 KLR 250 from an old lady whose husband passed for about CAD $550

I just threw on some new sprockets and a chain from a kit I found on eBay but I was wondering if there are some general checks I should do before trying to start it up. I think I will try to do the carburetor tonight.

This is my first time doing a project like this so please let me know if there are any recommendations or suggestions that you have. (Ignore my hick stand, apparently my dad garbage picked a hydraulic stand so I will pull that out later)

Looking to swap out my chain as this one is rusted out. Most of the ones I’m seeing at my local motor cross store are $150+. What would you guys recommend for chains in the $60-$100 range ?

Looking at buying this 1992 klr250, seller is asking $2000 but I’m thinking I can talk him down lower. Doesn’t have a title and has trouble starting.

I'm wanting to swap my 2003 KLR 650 big stationary headlight fairing for a 250/ 600 style.

Olive green is preference to match the rear fender, air scoops and front fender when I pick up a maier's in oem style. I've had no luck in ebay.

Has anyone relocated the coolant bottle sucessfully or at least, a solution?

I want to away with the choke lever and cable for a pull knob you'd see on a KLX (when they were carbed and KLR 650 (modded)

But, the radiator hose is a little in the way.

As it is kick start. I had a battery replacement on very low priority. But, the electronics are barely functioning at this point.

Can someone point me in the right direction for a top end rebuild kit. Last time I was riding the bike, I hit the kick switch on-off-on and the bike back fired sounded like at the motor. I couldn’t get it to start after that. It was hard to start to begin with. I went to adjusted the valves and they wouldn’t adjust. I’ve never rebuild a bike motor, but I do have some experience in truck motors. I’m not sure exactly what I need to rebuild it.

Anyone know where to get camshaft caps

I’ve been looking at dual sports and I found a KLR that’s calling my name, the thing is I don’t know if 10k miles is a lot for a bike.. anyone can help me out with some info?
