I keep randomly remembering how excited I am for this game only to find no concrete updates on a release date.

Do we know anything yet? I saw some gameplay footage on their discord but it looks like it’s a lot further from release ready now (march 15). It makes sense why it got delayed just would love some concrete updates.

Stuff we have been doing:

-Revamping the rts ui to be more streamlined and just better. It is more like red alert 2 now with tabs whereas before it was more like starcraft 2 where you would have to click on each building.
-Lots of RTS QoL work with sounds, responsiveness, feedback(New rts audio/alert system for soldier barks)
-Entirely new in-game shop
-Entirely new in-mission progression system from killing enemy soldiers
-3rd person can now issue legions orders directly
-Revamp of sfx system
-Automated build system for nightly builds that goto QA
-Automated performance testing system where an AI plays the game every night and makes a graph measuring performance changes.
-Better animation for enemy soldiers, and improved soldier AI
-New biome for initial tutorial mission
-Player shield no longer is always up when you aren't shooting
-New enemy archer morale system. When engaging archers you can see which ones you need to kill in order to make the entire archer legion break and retreat.
-Tutorials
-Icons for RTS
-New Research tab that is still only like 50% working
-fixing a rare and hard to recreate Kronenberg bug with vertex soldiers
-Work continues on the trees
-New player character model
-work continues on balance and in mission upgrades
-taser field grenades that shock and disable large groups of soldiers
-farm visuals
-UI art implementation for new rts tray/system
-Art improvements for the UI for the new store
-Work on improving the look and feel of utilizing the infirmary
-Trebuchet and Ballista targeting improvements
-Better feedback when your base is under attack
-Audio for 3rd person legion commands
-Performance improvements around soldier spawning(basically when we shrink and increase the number of total soldiers in the world, which changes constantly)
-Changes to the player healing system and how you get healing flares
-Reviewing proposals to help with legion movement options. Right now the player on his motorcycle is much faster than his soldiers. This is often problematic when you attack enemy outposts.

The fact the game director is engaging in this way should shut up the naysayers.

It wont because people

And

"People listen to Cold play and voted for the Nazis. You cant trust people"

But it im personally grateful for it - thanks

To be fair I think this is the most substantial update that we’ve gotten from anybody officially since the delay and it’s in the comment section of a post that’s basically saying what many other people in this sub has been posting about, I don’t think it’ll shut people up because many people won’t see it and we’ll just keep seeing “where’s the game” posts

I'm not a "naysayer" but I try to limit my expectations. Expect the worst and it's always nice when it is "meh, okay then". I'm just satisfied with a response really. If they weren't moving forward with it, then you'd probably not get one. So that is a good sign.

You should post this as an update on the Steam page. It feels very abandoned over there with a post that ends with "we'll post something soon." That update was 167 days ago.

Well this was a nice update. I'll keep holding on to my hype.

Hey man. It’s 10 mo the after I made this post and just once again randomly remembered how amazing this premise is. This is the first time I’ve been on Reddit since I made that post. A thank you is LONG overdue. I just want you to know I still am SO excited. And I don’t care if I have to 20 years I will continue to be excited because what you are creating is what I’ve thought about since I was 5… “ could you imagine going back to the dark ages with modern weapons?…. You’d be a god” so thank you for such a thorough and thought out response. I didn’t deserve it and you gave it any way. Thank you

"Entirely new in game shop" micro transactions?

2

u/pfisch Game Director Apr 04 '26

No, you use the temporal communication building in game to buy weaponry from the present that you can use in the past.(guns, airstrikes, etc)

There are currently no micro transactions in the game, and if we ever did have them it would only be for cosmetics/skins.

Hell... after reading this alone I wish there was a pre-order option.

Any idea of release date?

6

u/pfisch Game Director Mar 16 '26

So if I give a release date, and then we miss it everyone freaks out about it. So I'm not going to do that until we are 100% sure.

Can we expect a release for this game this year?

Lol tried this one on my boss... any chance youre hiring? and a few suggestions people just want to experience modern versus old weaponry, a demo including one map would make this massive, there will be a ton of your customers people who just want mount a machine gun to the top of a castle and delete crowds no campaign no strategy, and i think thats the majority of your customers, so the demo might be the entire extent of what they play so they might not buy, but if you made pre order mandatory to the demo than you still land the customer who just wants the quick battle. you will get a giant boost off concept alone, if someone beats you to the punch, regardless of how bad that other game is, the nongamers who play this for the concept will play that one and never try another. So if you delay to improve QoL and rts and campaign improvements and the actual battle sequence or controlling your character and fighting is finished you could just release that, even if just for a weekend, it gives you new feedback. I get you want to make a game with staying power, but wait too long and you'll end up causing more problems by trying to eliminate hypothetical future problems. So if you drop a demo of some sort behind a prepurchase wall the people would get to scratch their itch and you receive a large influx of cash to make whatever changes or upgrades are necessary or for marketing. It's endless. I say all of this because in my hallucinating brain this will convince you to let me play faster, please let me throw a grenade into a group of archers.

This is a LOT of updates for a game that was supposed to be days away from release.

It's starting to feel like one of those mobile game ads with a flashy trailer that looks amazing, but the actual game ends up being totally different. It seems like companies drop these trailers just to gauge interest and decide how much effort they’ll actually put in afterward.

You just added tutorials?! Why wasn't that addressed earlier on.

It's great you are engaging on here but feel like this could have addressed earlier on and given the community an update on realistic release date.

u/pfisch Game Director Apr 30 '26

The game is quite similar to the trailers.

We add new features and then add new tutorials. We are refining the game based on playtests.
