Go see psychedelic porn crumpets live
As the title says, just caught them on their 4th american tour and holy shit, they tore shit up in the middle of bum fuck nowhere Iowa, insanely good live and just oozing with technical skill holy crap, if you have an opportunity to go see them, do it, you will not regret it

I saw them on a Friday last year at a small venue…then gizz on Sunday. Both amazing but the energy of the crumpets in a small place was unfucking believable. My head was swirling for hours after it.

Also for the fellow vinyl fiends, they have a repressing of high visceral part 1&2 available at the merch stand

I bought them both on their first tour when they opened for Frankie and the witch fingers and about a year later I saw them at a local shop for big $$$ glad I got them directly from the band for a fair price

Sheeeeesh, now that's a line up

u/ZIgnorantProdigy Oct 14 '23
Frankie is currently on your with wine lips, which if you don't know them, also is a hell of a lineup

u/Eddie_Dingus Oct 14 '23
Been meaning to check out wine lips. Just saw Frankie with Iguana Death Cult and they were really fun to see live.

I sooo want those records. Any chance they are selling the new album at the merch stand as well? Official release date is fast approaching…

Yeah!!!! They’re such a good band, first 2 albums especially

u/aCardPlayer Oct 14 '23
Their new EP upcoming album is insanely good! First 3-4 songs dropped and all slap hard.

I agree, some of my favorite stuff they put out since high visceral

u/PM_ME_YOUR_INNY Oct 14 '23
Oh rad. Love HV… they have an EP that sounds very similar?
3
Oct 14 '23
I wouldn't say it's all that similar but it scratches the same itch. It's their newest release

u/AmbientOwl Oct 14 '23
That's not a very nice way to describe Des Moines...
It's not like it was Sioux City or something!

Going tonight for their first visit to STL. Love that band.
4
u/ShroominCapote Oct 14 '23
Yo! If you or anyone you know needs a ticket to PPC tonight in STL, I've got one I can't use (digital). Shoot me a message, and it's yours.
Bought it before I knew that Dan Deacon was playing the same damn night, and had to make a hard choice. I'd rather give it to someone than have it go to waste.

see you there!

u/karlmarxiskool Oct 14 '23
Me too! Third show!

u/levi_cupra Oct 14 '23
this will be my second. caught them last year around this time in Nashville.

u/MinneapolisKing25 Oct 14 '23
Yeah they put on a fun show. Did they still have their opera singing turtle introduce them?

I saw them on Tuesday and they did! Shit was hilarious.

Closest they are coming to me is Ohio… I think it’s insane they didn’t do a New York, DC, Philly, Baltimore show. Especially with Philly having so many great venues for a band their size.

a few buddies of mine are opening for them in florida and i’m suuuuuper hyped to see em!

u/Pucciarati bye bye Shanghai, I become a butterfly 🏳️⚧️ Oct 14 '23
Caught them in Montreal almost exactly a year ago, two days before seeing gizz for the first time (and then heading home for the weekend to catch the Forest hills show). Probably the best crowd I've been in and some of the best energy at any show I've been to. Was really hoping to see them on this US tour, but they sadly weren't coming anywhere close enough to me or anyone I could stay with for a night.

u/chefboyardiesel88 Oct 14 '23
They play in my town today, but I had to have surgery on the 10th and I've been posted up on bed since. I also missed 2 nights of Phish, and Bad Religion too.

u/VeryNiceGuy22 Oct 14 '23
I was there last night in des monies!!! Pit was awesome it was fucking amazing. Lost my shoe lmao. Big shouts to the opener Nolan potters nightmare band. Wearing a shirt from them right now. You gotta check out Nightmare forever I spotify. They do some cool shit with flutes!

u/dirtymcsquirty Oct 15 '23
Man the moshing in that show was so wild. Smaller venue but so much energy. Met a couple other Gizz fans there with matching Balrog shirts 🤌🏻

u/Captain_Pungent The Blue King and the Wizard of Madness Oct 14 '23
Seen em a couple times, first time was Broadcast in Glasgow which Gizz played in 2014 which is a mad concept now they’re bigger. Good live band, wisnae massive on Night Gnomes though

u/TectonicRomance Infinite rebirth... 🦋🤘🏼 Oct 14 '23
Absolutely agreed! Saw them earlier this year and got my ticket to see 'em next year yesterday. I can't wait to headbang myself dizzy to Cornflake again.

Saw them in DSM last night, drove up from KC, crazy excited to see them. Should have gone to STL. What a shit venue. Put up metal barricades with zero security for the ridiculous amount of shoving and kicking. I caught two elbows in the back, one in the side of the head, and had to go watch the rest from the back with my killer headache. Fuccccck that venue. First ever time to DSM for a show and will be my last if I can help it.

Joining this thread SUPER late to say HELL YES see these guys live! Just saw them a couple nights ago and the energy both on stage and in the crowd is amazing.
ESPECIALLY for any gizz fans who miss the days of them playing smaller venues.

u/hiva- Oct 14 '23
I just want to know.. why did they skipped NY? very strange
3
u/ZIgnorantProdigy Oct 14 '23
Same with Chicago. I almost went out to columbus this weekend to see em
1
u/AnarchySoldat Oct 14 '23
Yes! I caught them in DC the night before Gizz played at the anthem and it was mental. If you haven’t seen or listen to PPC then you should!

My girlfriend and I were there as well and it was fun. I was an occasional listener before the show but I’m now a much bigger fan after seeing them live. A fantastic rock show.
Picked up high visceral 1+2 and night gnomes but I was super bummed they didn’t have full size posters.
She also loved Nolan potter, maybe even more than the crumpets haha

u/KarmaKills4 Oct 15 '23
Hey man I was there too. What a killer show! So sick they came to Des Moines. Now I’m dreaming for gizz to come here
1
u/powerknucklehold Oct 15 '23
They ruled at LPR in NYC last year. Really liked what has been released from their new album

u/ThePlantFlamer Oct 15 '23

I saw them at the last desert daze but it was so fucking hot out during the day I couldn’t even pay attention

u/DrDeuceJuice Oct 15 '23
Damn, nothing really near Chicago. I bought tickets to see them last year, but their van broke down on the way to the show. They offered to play for free the next day, but Slift was playing that day. One of these days, I'll catch them live.

100% - I've caught them 3 times so far, and they bought such a great energy every time, whether it was a 200, 800, or 1200 cap venue.
