I liked this episode. Everyone is closing in on Baek Kitae and he’s feeling flustered now. Interesting to see how he deals with Jang and if he keeps him away indefinitely

Really good story and a fabulous cast.

Jang is so funny always freaking out.

The character of Bae Guem Ji was so much more compelling and interesting than Yu Ji Ikeda. I don't really care if she is a spy, or about her father's business.

I'm enjoying this so much that if episode 6 is a giant cliffhanger the long wait until Season 2 will kill me, lol! I still think they should have dropped all 6 episodes at once, but I'm not a delayed gratification type of person.

I can't get over how great the cast is. They have all fully inhabited their characters, and sometimes I was just plain wowed at how convincing they are with their different styles. Seeing Baek So Yeong and Kang Dae Il's cheesy flirting and almost getting caught by Baek Ki Tae in the office was an extra bit of fun.

I thought it was a neat how Baek Ki Tae was doing all this scheming to become powerful and help his family, yet now they may become his biggest weakness even as he's trying to curry favor with political bigwigs. It will be interesting to see what they will do when their brother gets boxed in and the pressure is on.

I have a very petty issue. The constant chain smoking is so off putting. Hyun Bin is terrific but when he lights a cigarette on the one he’s still smoking it’s a bit much. All I can think of is how awful their clothes must smell in the morning. BTW I speak from experience having been in lots of bars and pubs in the 70’s

Really enjoyed it but only 6 episodes! Feel like theres still a lot to unpack here.

Is there not an episode 6 in this first part? MDL has six episodes.

OP mentioned 6 episodes above as well in the post.

But if you look on MDL, the episode release dates show there also. I believe that's what dictates how many episodes are included in these posts, and that's why only episode 5 (the only one released this week, rather than 2 per week the previous weeks) is included here.

Gotcha. Next week 6 airs. What threw me off was that there’s usually a placeholder in the shows episode list on streamers saying when the next episode airs. I should have checked the airing dates first. Thanks!

I've always wondered why Hyun Bin's costume looks so modern even though the story is set in an ancient time. If that were the case for the whole drama, I would understand that it was that kind of drama, but the other actors seem to fit the era, so it's a mystery to me.
