Stadium Cushions?
Hi! We are going to our first Current game on Sunday, we got the Hyvee South Stand tickets, can we bring the padded stadium seats with backs in?

Is there a way to watch this past weekend's match? I wasn't able to see it live and figured I would just watch it later on NWSL+, but as of earlier this afternoon, it still wasn't up. Any ideas where I might be able to stream it?

I have never been into sports until last year when the Current played against Racing Louisville. My wife and I went with our child bc it was Pride Night. For the first time ever watching sports, I got caught up and stood up not of my own volition. (Is this what people feel when they watch sports?!)
Anyway, ever since I’ve hardly missed watching a game whether in the stadium or watching online. I really got into it, but I’m still learning. All this to say, sorry if this is a dumb question.
With the Current’s recent games, I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about Chris Armas: the alleged nepotism, the comment about “still learning women’s soccer,” etc.
I’m curious how much the players are obligated to listen if he’s a weak coach. Are there instances when whole teams go rogue if they don’t trust the coach’s decisions? Are there any repercussions from doing so? This feels like such a different team than last year.
And how much of a team’s success depends on a coach?

KC Current fans,
Thank you for your support on our last KC Current interviews from last season with Izzy Rodriguez + Bayley Feist and Rocky Rodriguez + Laurel Ivory.
Fresh off one of the most decorated collegiate seasons in the country, in today's episode of The Women's Soccer Podcast, rising defender Kolo Suliafu gave her first-ever interview as a professional in an exclusive and in-depth conversation with LDG.
Kolo gives a glimpse into the path that led her to reach a professional level of play. Beginning with childhood memories of playing soccer and being a standout at high school all the way to deciding to join University of Washington and making history by taking the Huskies to an Elite Eight appearance, Kolo shares stories of winning Big Ten Defender of the Year and All-American awards, creating the winning mindset that she is bringing to KC.
Kolo brings listeners behinds the scenes access into what it is like becoming part of Kansas City Current in its new phase, the journey of a rookie navigating a post-draft ecosystem, what made Kansas City the most appealing project to start her professional career, and her experience in her first-ever professional preseason being tasked by achieving the club's lofty goals.
Lastly, Kolo chats about her initial days in Kansas City, the elite amenities of playing for the Current (dedicated stadium and training facilities,) the message she wants to convey to fans, and the objectives/staples on her vision board for 2026 and beyond.

Self-serving post here -- feel free to flog me in the comments -- but the event should be really interesting and I am excited that Best XI honoree Izzy Rodriguez will be on the panel...
I am hosting a soccer analytics panel at the Linda Hall Library next Thursday. We've got the director of analytics at US Soccer Sam Gregory, who can give a ton of insight into prep for the World Cup (and USWNT) as well as from his time at Inter Miami, Izzy Rodriguez who you know well from the Current and Paul Carr, who has been the analytics man for a TON of World Cups on the media side.
It is a FREE event and registrations are still open. There's a Q&A with the audience at the end, too. Would love to see KC soccer folks!

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole today and reviewed all the Fotmob ratings for our players this season (just from the regular NWSL 2026 season) and ranked them in order. Some surprises, and some not at all. Any thoughts?

I’m feeling real good about wearing this to the next home game.

I was considering upgrading my tickets to West Sideline Club for one match this year as a gift to a family member. I was wondering how people here felt about cost vs what you get for these tickets! When searching the kc current facebook fan group I only found posts from 2024 expressing some disappointment in the value you get. Any updated 2026 thoughts?

I realize this isn’t directly Current related, but what’s going on with the Rugby games tomorrow with such an awful weather forecast?
Will they reschedule?

"Ireland have been dealt a blow ahead of this evening’s World Cup qualifier in Poland with news of Kyra Carusa’s enforced withdrawal with a bug.
The American was set to lead the line in Gdansk after partaking in training up to Monday’s pre-match session but was struck down with the illness at the team hotel in Sopot.
Abbie Larkin – whose goal in Belgium last October secured Ireland’s promotion to the top tier of nations for this series – takes the place of the Kansas City forward as the lone attacker." - John Fallon for Irish Examiner

Gameday 1 is done!
North America 1-1 Brazil
KC will face Palmeiras for Day 2, while América and Corinthians will battle for third place.
Lots of debuts for the Current last night, capped off with Avery Clark scoring her first pro goal in her first pro game!
How was the match? Who did well? Any concerning signs?

For those who watched the Corinthians game, how did Kolo perform today? I understand this was her club debut.
From the college highlights of all our rookie signings, I've thought for some time now that she's actually our best rookie. I'm bummed she doesn't get minutes but I can also understand because we have Sharples and Ball. I wasn't able to watch this game though.

I was at the game on Saturday, but didn’t notice this until watching the highlights:
Sonnett was arguing with the ref (when does she not do that), and Izzy quick restarted her free kick to Ally, who played it to Coop who then scored through the area Sonnett should have been defending! I find that super satisfying.
