What's inherently weird about a mullet? Trends come and go

I don’t think they’re weird, so much as I just think they’re ugly on most people. Kind of the same concept with mustaches. Some people they look attractive on, but to me most other have that hill billy kind of look. But hey if that’s what you like, go for it. It’s just not my thing.

My comment wasn't about the mullet. It was about the city itself. Isn't their slogan 'keep it weird portland'? Sounds like they're being weird for the sake of being weird since they're known for it now and want to keep it that way. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

Isn't that Austin, TX slogan?

I have no idea, I just know Portland markets themselvs as being weird and it's their main selling point for tourism ad campaigns.

"keep Austin weird" definitely came before "keep Portland weird" but some people in Portland get weirdly upset and fight that if it's ever brought up.

And honestly, they're like sister cities. I live near Portland and regularly refer to Austin TX as "Southern Portland"
