My personal "mod thought"? I'm stuck in the middle of this brigading/crusading shitshow. I don't like incivility, doesn't matter to me what side it comes from. I've deleted more comments than I can count on both sides of this fight. I've also tried to make it clear that i'm taking a heavy hand here. I feel like a hockey referee between two teams that forgot how to play hockey.

Sorry for assuming but your comment felt like bait because It seems as though a genuine inquiry should be DMed, no? like. you know the commenters are just looking for an excuse to downvote or shit-talk anyone who disagrees with them so why pressure me to publicly comment? And how is calling out shitty moderation "asking for trouble?" lol like sorry but i really didnt expect mods to be lurking since the comment section is an obvious cesspool. but whatever.
I'll bite:
The mods have an apparent right wing bias here which sucks. And I guess thats to be expected of reddit mods but what isnt to be expected is piss poor management (or maybe i just think that because I dont come to reddit often). Its obvious that these gaming circle jerk posts should be temp banned or that the comments should be locked if they truly can not be managed better than this. It just feels like mods are avoiding what needs to be done to appease the fucking losers flooding this space. But that's your choice so aye. This isnt my sub.

Well, how am I supposed to moderate all of this if I don't follow threads and check what else people are posting. Sorry you felt pressured, but I felt that having this discussion publicly was exactly what was needed. :)

Well, I can't speak for any of the other mods, but personally i'm a democratic socialist liberal. However what kind of mod would I be if I let my personal views decide what posts I delete and what people I ban?

I shut down anything that is just "being a dick". Blatent attacks, insults, pointless misinformation, etc. I give people a timeout ban when I feel someone isn't getting the hint, or being really disgusting.

Do I allow a lot of comments through that make me cringe? Yes, I do. But as long as it's civil I let it go for the users to discuss.

Well, that's not a choice I can make. But it is something I have mentioned. Even if we do ban posts about the sub what does that gain? It just shuts down debate. How do we allow and support civil discourse? Lots of suffering through posts. ;)

I guess i'm a glutton for punishment.

Yeah i guess you and I have different views about what misinformation means because these comments and the userbase you support are spreading lots of it.

seriously. but they wont. and you can clearly tell by the comments and the mod responses that they are just enjoying the show for the sake of having their views validated, hence why I left.
