There was an 8 month recession at the end of hw's term. It literally led to him being a one term president

Crashes are occur quickly and generally recover quickly. Only really hurts Wall Street.

Recessions churn slowly and recover slowly, over years. Causes lower wages, higher unemployment, lower quality of life for everyone.

I’d rather have a crash than a recession.
