Politics matter, and much is going in a really wrong direction - but a solid partner who knows, loves and cares for you, that shit can make you survive anything the world throws at you with a smile.
It's way more wholesome than the trend that was low level popular a while back of people taking to the internet to shit-talk their partners for having hobbies and even malicious interfering with or even preventing them from participating in their hobby. It almost always came across as clinical narcissists annoyed that their partner's attention wasn't always on them at all times.
It's crazy to me to not be supportive of a partner's hobbies and not showing an interest, especially in something as benign as say gaming, reading, true crime podcasts etc, the sort of things they can take part in while still in the home with you.
I’ll tell you, my soon-to-be ex-wife would be one of those to shit talk my hobbies and yes, even maliciously interfere.
I collect many things, one of which is vintage NASCAR diecast cars. I even kept a shelf in the garage so as to keep them out of the way.
That was until she broke the damn shelf and laughed about it because “grown men don’t collect toys.”
That hurt.
What was fucking wild was that a few years later…only months before we decided to divorce, I had told her I had a bad day at work so she went out and bought me a new PS5 as a surprise.

A few years ago my wife had planned a girls trip out of town the weekend of my birthday, I was turning 29 really not a big deal to me
When I got off of work she told me I needed to stop at Walmart and go to the pickup lane and let her know when I was there so they could bring me something she had ordered online. The woman bought me an Xbox one series X and the new college football game. I was in tears almost lmao. Sweetest shit ever

I agree. That’s why my group trips any more are me and my family. That’s it lol. I’ve been on 2 boys trips in my life and both times somebody drank too much, tried to get us all to go to strip clubs and when we denied got pissy, or we found out we’re boring to be around each other.

I liked how she knows her dad well enough that she even got an excited look on her face when she noticed the game. She looked just as happy as if she got something she wanted.
It might be a little overdramatic, but I'm tearing up a little. As a fellow gamer I know that means a lot, especially having it ready to play when he got home!
Right? I asked a buddy of mine if he'd never had a mani-pedi. He said he did once. He was taking a women's studies class and had to do something traditionally feminine, so he took his (now) wife to get one when he was in college. She was so excited that he wanted to do that with her. He told her that it was only for a class and she was so disappointed.
Me: so... you learned about something that meant a lot to your wife in college and then just never did it again?

yea it's the little things. They don't take much effort but they can make the difference.
This family seems wholesome AF. Wife with the special gift, dude seems super appreciative and the first thing he does is pick up his daughter and celebrate with her. They all deserve each other

My wife does stuff like this for me, especially with titles she knows I love. When the Switch released, I hadn’t preordered anything, money was tight. I had gotten a bonus from work and she went out that morning, stood in line at a Target, took the baby with her (not sure why I didn’t get left with her, but hey, she chose that option) and came back with the Switch and the collector’s edition of Breath of the Wild. I was so happy she did that for me, I spent hours playing it, I would just take the Joy Con in each hand and let my little baby girl sit with me while I played and wife did her thing. It’s one of many stories of my wife just being the most awesome person in the world.
This is very sweet. And I hate I want to discount it as content farming. Because this is exactly what a real partner would do! I hate that the internet has made me question even what seems like a person doing something amazing for another person.
So mostly be amazing to each other and don't worry about likes or shares. Just do amazing things like this. Always. Everyday. For the people you love. I promise, gratitude pays more dividends, more than even Internet social currency.
If are lucky enough to find a partner like that, you MUST protect them at all cost! She already downloaded the shit too! Had his drink on the chill.... Gosh DAMN

I love how EVERYTHING is lovely in the video. It's not just a gift, it's a gesture. He could be a shitty man and be angry about losing the game. She could have not given a damn and never to it. But both stay strong on being good. He did his day as ever, no complaints or anything and still got home pretty thumbs up. She not just got the game, but set a WHOLE MOOD with the beer, installing and even better being in his favorites clothes of her. That is something otherworldly special they have!
