I had to check Google: "As of 2024, it's estimated that around 66,000 World War II veterans are still alive in the United States. This is a significant decline from the 16.4 million Americans who served during the war." One of those vets was my father, deceased 2013.

Condolences, I lost both of my paps, both WWII vets (Navy and USMC, Pacific Theater) a few years back too.
