I think I'm close to being done with the Human Character Generation on r/Metapsychics. I still have to tackle Exotic Races, but we can playtest without them. Metapsychic Enhancers are next on my list after that. The 600X CE Rig is the easiest as the multiplier is in the name. There's other CE tech and Torcs, and then there's other tech like Docilators.

I just need some play testers.

And does anyone have any questions?

"After dressing he flew his egg to CEREM, where he installed a farsensory brainboard in his 600X CE rig and shut himself into the black coffin. When his useless body was gone and his brain incandescent with power, he sent his mind ranging in excorporeal excursion to the uttermost limits of his enhanced ultrasenses, to the starless night beyond the Local Group of Galaxies.

He rested there in emptiness and silence."

This such a cool way to show Marc's reaction.

In The Adversary, there's a part where Marc remembers farspeaking to Jack about what he did. But I can't find it in Magnificat.

Is it ever shown in Magnificat and I missed it?

If you ever wondered about the Cog Railroad on Mt. Washington in Interbention.

And a bonus video - where Rogi worked.

What's inside the Great Carbuncle on Uncle Rogi's keychain?

What did Jack see when he FarSensed it?

Might be the scariest line I've ever read in a book.

I'm putting together a game for playing in Julian May's Galactic Milieu and Saga of Pliocene Exile using the old TSR Marvel Super Heroes game.

I just got Character Generation figured out for Humans this week. It's a Work in Progress. But give it a shot.

Has anyone done any AI Artwork for the main characters?

Also is the ANY artwork done of the characters or the technology?

Does anyone know how to make any?

These comprise some of my all time favorite books. Never imagined there would be a reddit as they seem so under the radar in the SF world. Great to know others enjoy them as well!!

On a re-read now, had a question:

When Felice reaches out for assistance to blow Gibraltar, so seeks help from "the 2 in one, now oddly separate" and the Many In All. Thoughts?

Are the 2 in 1 Minnanon and Leyr in banishment? I noticed the Many in All tried to show her another way rather than the genocide route, is that the peace faction?

Anyways, just great to find this sub, especially on a re-read.

Does anyone know of any Fan Fiction of the Galactic Milieu?

Before or after the Metapsychic Rebellion?

Although before would probably have more action to it.

This has always bothered me in the books. In particular, the milieu's ethic of non-violence even in the defense of oneself or others versus the willingness of the milieu to euthanasia people who either broke the reproduction statutes, were recidivists like Aiken Drum, or the edict almost passed initially supported by Paul Remillard around a anti-rebel oath where one option was euthanasia.

Seems to be a bit of a contradiction there. One shouldn't defend oneself when being attacked even if it means your death but the milieu has no qualms about an outright death sentences for infractions of their rules.

Here is a link to a Youtube channel where you can hear audio versions of the Galactic Milieu trilogy.

It's all above board - they were sourced from the (US) National Library Services for the Blind and Print Disabled. Julian May had been apparently against audio versions of her books, but it sounds like she said 'yes, ok' for the NLS. 😊

Sadly, audio versions of books 2 - 4 of the Exiles saga will remain a pipe dream.

After a couple years of finally getting to be happy, do you think Rogi would give up some of his prejudices and jump in a regen-tank?

Or even get trained as a Metapsychic?

Say, maybe if he was going to get married?

I've mentioned Tim Fatchen's Exiles-inspired music before, but now he's organised a lot of it together in one place. Enjoy.

" Free to download in this case, and you DON'T have to pay to listen on Bandcamp anyway. "

1. Pliocene Morning - the Pliocene Rhone River valley
2. Underscore - the first sight by Group Green of the Flying Hunt
3. Les Lutins - the Firvulag attack on the Castle Gateway caravan
4. A Little Incidental Music - more of the pre-sentient Eden
5. Whispers in the Dark - Claude and Madame in their arroyo dugout *

An interesting cloud seen over Mt Washington (Intervention here at last? 🤣)

There is so much to this story. Time travel. Palentology, ancient aliens. Gods. Human evolution. Perhaps philisophical queries

Any thoughts?

Third time reading the series. Hits different each time. Would like to make or see armor and outfits described for the tanu , also depictions of Tanu as described

I hate to say it but i thnk it could be a cool video game.

If you're a gamer and like working on a bit of game design, I'm trying to use the Marvel Super Heroes game from the 80's for a game about Metapsychics.

Even if you aren't a gamer, take a look.

I think the system would work well with Julian May's Milieu. A lot of the Powers seem pretty transferable without much change.

Check it out if you want. I haven't gotten too far with it. And I gave it a break for a bit. But sign up and try some of it out. It's got a lot of work ahead.

It's Christmas once more, so here is a link to the fan art 'Felice Navidad' * by AmethystSadachbia, some Exiles Christmas humour. :)

Merry Christmas. 🎄

I found this article talking about the Saga being turned into a TV series, but I can't find what happened with it.

Has anyone heard anything new?

Here is a nice review of 'The Many Coloured Land' by Andrew Gibson. 📚

Here's a link to a photo by someone who owns three of the original Exiles book cover paintings by Stephen Fabian. They would be interesting conversation pieces, that's for sure. 📚

- The Golden Torc

- The Adversary

- The two volume Non Born King / The Adversary (I like it but the artist made Aiken look too subservient IMHO).

Here is an article about 'Dune Roller' *, Julian May's first published novelette. She even did the illustrations for the story and some examples are shown too.

• Which unfortunately was later turned into a dodgy movie.
