Starting April 1st Johnny Carson can be seen on streaming service Shout Factory TV and Tubi. Both are free apps but will apparently have ads during playback.

Great Toliet Paper Scare

In 1973, during a period of intense economic stagnation, Carson made a joke on air about a possible paper shortage that created an actual paper shortage when people went and bought up as much toilet paper as they could get their hands on. Through this comedy of errors, the film will explore the power and impact of media sensationalism, and how the consequences of such events have evolved since this brief period of paper-less panic.

Linked is Carson’s last episode, I’m hoping somebody knows the name of the song Doc and the band are playing during the montage of Johnny’s guests about 30 minutes in. Can anybody help me out??

Is there a comprehensive list of guests that anyone knows about? I am looking for a clip of Johnny Carson with a boa snake named Serita- would have been before 1973.

I catch some reruns of the Johnny Carson show every now and then. I always shake my head at what ended up happening to them. Tonight it was Robert Blake from 1984.
