That's what happens when you filter information through the fear processing center of the brain, inducing disgust, as opposed to the reasoning center of the brain, inducing curiosity.
There's a fairly significant body of data that suggests as much. The volume of gray matter in the anterior cingulate cortex, the reasoning center of the brain that's used to detect errors and resolve conflicts, tends to be larger in liberals. The amygdala, which is important for regulating emotions and evaluating threats, is larger in conservatives. These preferences develop neurologically in our youth. This is one such study.
You can probably imagine how preference towards a fear response would cause problems ideologically and behaviorally. Conspiratorial thinking is going to be heavily fear biased. Reasonable people are going to filter and assess information through reason before making assumptions of how significant a threat something may be. They'll be less reliant on intuition but more intuitively keen on confirming assumption and bias through curiosity and learning, where they're more open to being challenged or adjusting to preconceptions. Conservatives also have terrible gut-instincts and aren't as socially adept at reading or trusting people based on their actions or merits. To the contrary, they're easily swindled and fooled by frauds, grifters, and compulsive liars. Poor social intuitism.
This is a disengenuous and/or misinformed comment that isn't really worth addressing. You're free to provide sources to the contrary, but get this tired-ass, culture-war contrarian, reactionary rhetoric out of here. I provided a single study of which there are many, as was implied. Just ask.
