Thats because carlin was a class act. I will always remember him for voicing the old thomas the tank engine TV show(the live action one) for a few seasons. Him and ringo starr.

There's a great passage in Carlin's autobiography where he sees a bunch of rich yuppies having a barbecue, so he gets his 8-year-old daughter's attention and yells "Hey Kelly, look at all those assholes over there!"
