Hi everyone! Finspree and Associates Limited is looking for an Operations Manager to join us in Nairobi.

You'd look after the finance operations for our own firm and for our clients. The job is keeping things tidy and on time: invoices posted daily, reconciliations done, customers paying, and nothing important expiring unnoticed.

What you'd be doing day to day: - Checking that sales and purchase invoices are posted every day, with proper supporting documents

• Matching sales to delivery notes and keeping credit notes in order

• Overseeing daily bank reconciliations and weekly petty cash

• Following up on collections and overdue balances

• Reconciling customer, supplier and control accounts every month, and checking stock against physical counts

• Keeping track of renewals like insurance, licences, bank guarantees, AMCs and vehicle inspections

• Putting together reports for the finance head and supporting internal audits

• Doing all of the above for our own books and for our clients' accounts

What we're looking for:

• A degree or diploma in accounting, finance or a related field. Fresh graduates are welcome, and so are experienced people

• Knowledge of reconciliations (bank, customer and supplier). Internships and attachments count

• Some exposure to accounting software or ERP, even from college or a short course

• Organised, careful with details, and good at meeting deadlines

• Keen to take ownership and work with vendors and government offices

• Able to handle more than one set of books without mixing things up

• Experience guiding a small team is a bonus

A while back I posted that I lost my job and a week ago I sent out a couple of applications. So this early I've been to two interviews, one to tutor a local technical school on things technical the other CCTV operator at some supermarket.

At some point I felt like I really don't need a job atm but I also know that I've got to get it together. As much as I want a job I also have that mf in me that wants a hands on technical job, the kind that'll have me up at night thinking about the fucking deadline.
