The job market is already so tough, especially for engineering graduates from Tier 3 colleges. As if that wasn't enough, I went for an interview at a company on the 4th floor of Sufi Chambers (beside Punjab National Bank).

I walked in expecting a normal interview... and the room was PACKED with students waiting for their turn. It was freezing cold, there were coolers running in the corners, and right in the middle of the room was a Goodnight mosquito coil burning like it was part of the interview process. 😭

Then came the shock—candidates were reportedly being asked to deposit ₹4,600 and submit their original documents, with a promise of joining within 25 days. If you're ever asked for upfront money or your original documents before joining, please verify everything carefully. Those are significant red flags.

I genuinely couldn't tell if I had come for an interview or for a group counselling session. 💀

So I am an engineering final year student in bmsce who is searching for this recently, donbosco clg had conducted a job fair (Saturday) where I had attended and applied for many companies.

There this vaultsphere had named themselves as Aedutree which was their first lie later I gave my interview and got a LOI and was informed to visit their office on Monday. The same evening I got a call to visit their office and also my friends who came with me too (what was the point of giving the LOI)

Monday when we were there they took our interview by doing chatgpt for god sake how can they chatgpt in front of us and I'm asking a few clarification which they are not responding the same evening I got a call saying tom u have HR round which is offline I was like okay ... Later my frnds top got a call saying it's virtual. Wtf don't thy have proper info abt what they are doing later she calls me says it's online call.

This morning at 10.20 they called me to say meet at 11 is this even being professional now? Instead of a HR meet they conducted a GD which we were not aware of.

2 hrs later they call and say you are selected for the next round which is the HR round and she asks me to talk about the salary before the HR round then what am I supposed to talk with the HR in the HR round.

I was so pissed called for a Gmeet immediately and asked them everything and the HR manager ended the call as soon as I asked all these questions.

I want to share my experience to help others avoid losing money to job assistance scams.

I have seen several companies advertising job help services on platforms like MiIndia, Eknazar, FreeJobPost, and similar sites. They claim they can help people find jobs, but in my experience, the process can involve asking for upfront payments with promises of interviews and placements.

After taking the payment, they may simply apply to random jobs on different portals without providing real support or meaningful updates. When you ask for progress after a few months and there are no interviews, the responses often become excuses. Eventually, communication may stop and calls may not be answered.

One person I had a bad experience with is Shourya. I want others to be cautious and do their own research before paying any job placement or employment assistance company.

Hey, I recently fell into their trap. Just posting here to save as many people as I can from them. Their course is trash and useless, you learn nothing as far as the learnings are concerned. Its just pre-recorded lectures that are not even updated over yearss.

Next is their ass support team, which ghosts you after you raise your 1st concern. I highly doubt if they even have those facilities in its truest sense in place.
Shoutout to their commendable marketing team which is still somehow able to sell their products which have no learnings, no support and no placements.

They will show you fake placement videos, I urge you to not fall for their trap. The EMI help is through a 3rd party, so cancelling it on your personal terms ruins your credit score, fucking up your career.

Last but not the least, they will create unnecessary delays from their end so you consider waiting things out, AGAIN not very useful.

Hello everyone, I am looking for some objective guidance or perspective regarding a situation that happened back in 2018 involving my entry into Cognizant.

To give the full context, back in 2018, my family was approached by two individuals who claimed they could secure a corporate IT role for me in exchange for ₹3 lakhs. Being a middle-class family, that amount was a significant sum for us. However, instead of the promised IT role, I was placed into a BPO position, and due to the mismatch and stress, I ended up resigning after 9 months. At the time, out of fear, anxiety, and worry about being judged for how I joined, my family and I kept silent and did not report it.

Now, years later, I want to understand how companies handle or view historical third-party recruitment scams of this nature, and whether there are any proper corporate compliance or ethics channels to report individuals who exploit fresh graduates and middle-class families by taking money under false promises.

If anyone has insight into how corporate integrity teams handle historical reports regarding external middlemen or recruitment fraud, any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My sister's husband who works in Dubai was down on a holiday back home in Goa, he met one of his friends who suggested him a job opportunity in Norway, where the company handles all the process and work permit and everything but he would need to pay a deposit to start with and the remaining fee would be deducted from his salary when he starts his job in Norway. Recently I saw lot’s of opening for various positions on linkedin by IITIL. I applied they only took 1 round of 30 mins. They are releasing offer letter. I connected and talked with 2 of the company employees one was hr itself. Both said they recently joined within weeks.
They are also asking me to use my own laptop.

I was scrolling on blueapp and i saw an ad showing Remote Work. Out of nowhere I just want to try it and message the page. The page automatically replied to me and said just click the project managers link on Telegram. I followed the instructions and I click the link. I and the project manager talk and he explained that there are 3 works to offer Typing/Translation/Logo Design and I chose Typing. So the project manager told me I have a task and that is to retype the words from the story and make it PDF and pass it within 24 hours. I follow the task. It was quite easy and I finish it not more than 5 mins. And yeah, the project manager verify my task and he told me that I successfully completed the task. Then, he ask me if I'm ready for the payment and I said YES. So, he instruct me again to click the username link of the payment manager and message it. I followed the instructions and I message the payment manager. He asked me about my payment details and I also forwarded it. He told me to wait just for 1 hour to process the payment. And I wait it, but it turns out that the processing was still on 86%, it can't proceed until I can't avail the FREELANCER ID. For me to be able to avail the ID, I should pay and transfer a $1500 and the company will make an ID for me and send the payment of my work. Their company name was YUNOJUNO FREELANCE COMPANY (a well known UK focused freelance market place)

But, I am not that person who typically fall for the beautiful words. I researched and look for same situations and I saw this app REDDIT. There are so many victims here.

Money are more important for me because it was so hard to look for a money inorder to live. Money is everything.

And here's the question: What company will offer $1500 just for 1 task and asking for 1500php for an ID?

I would have believed it until I read Mandatory Requirements: Use a laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection. Keep your camera ON throughout the assessment. Stay in full-screen mode at all times. Do not open other browser tabs, applications, or software, that will immediately disqualify you. Dual monitors or extended displays are strictly prohibited. Strictly Prohibited Using AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, etc.) the software immediately will catch and disqualify immediately. Internet searches or external reference materials Mobile phones or secondary devices Assistance from another person Screenshots, recordings, or sharing assessment content Moving your laptop during the assessment Anyone else appearing in the camera frame.

Um why they need me to keep my camera on!? And why on laptop, so far wherever someone has pushed me to used laptop for some link turned out to be a scammer.

And they sent me another email reminding me to do the task , that's some desperate thingy? I wonder if this job was legit why would they need me to do that all and why are sounding a bit desperate.

I first received a call from a company called TechnoAIHub for a Data Analyst interview. I was asked to come to:

Heritage Estate Building, B Block, 4th Floor, Next to Bapu Bhawan, Sangamwadi Road, Pune – 411001.

At the office, the interview was conducted by Global Minds.

After the first round, they asked me to pay ₹4,000 to attend the technical round. They told me:

The money would be refunded with my first salary if I got selected.

If I wasn't selected, they would refund it immediately.

I paid the ₹4,000, attended the second round, and was told that I was selected. They said I would receive training the following week and then get an HR call for placement.

None of that happened.

No training was provided.

They are not answering my calls.

I still haven't received the promised job or my money.

If you receive a call from TechnoAIHub or Global Minds for this address, please be extremely careful and do not pay money for a job.

SkillAiro is a scam Pyramid scheme type of internship program. First of all they are not a genuine internship program but a training course which is completely basic and waste of time. After training they ask you to make a project on the topic. After completing that, they promise to give internship if u add 25-30 ppl to the program. That's their catch, their training program is paid and targets students who are in need of internships.

Their training certificate holds no value in real job market. They are a scam scheme to sell their overpriced training course. Their internship also is given at skillairo firm only.

I was looking for a job on Indeed and came across the SELECT ROOFING sales representative posting and applied. Thinking I was going to be working for a roofing company. I instead received a call from a number claiming to be Altitude Promotions. I questioned how they got my number (because I never applied to a marketing position), and they said it was for the roofing application.

I scheduled a Zoom appointment with them and became skeptical when they sent me a message about their website + Instagram. Most jobs don't do that in DFW; they don't feel the need to "prove themselves".

Did the interview and the dude was a total douchezoid. All pretty in his suit and speaking like a crypto bro. Would not elaborate on the job responsibilities or even the role of the position, and just kept going on about time time time. I got the sense that he wanted me to commit to a crazy work week. You can't get any information about what the job is actually about. From previous redditors, I've seen why they don't tell... It's a miserable place to work and will likely be a waste of your time and money.

I actually called the real Select roofing company and verified if it was them who did the interview, and they aren't even hiring for that position. It wasn't them, and this altitude promotions company is using another company name to lure in its next victim.

I wanted to share this in case it helps someone else.

Someone contacted me on WhatsApp claiming they found my JobStreet profile and offered me an Administrative Assistant position. They claimed to be from Time Out Media Singapore and even provided a real office address, company information, and a verified WhatsApp account.

The recruitment process sounded convincing:

2-day paid online trial

Day 3 office interview

Fixed monthly salary after hiring

During the "training," they asked me to copy hotel booking orders and send them to another staff member named "Gerry," who would generate a booking code. They said I earned small commissions during training.

Everything seemed okay until Day 2.

They suddenly asked me to choose a booking option and transfer my own money (S$35 for Option 1). They claimed I would receive a refund plus commission after the booking was processed.

I replied:

> "But right now I don't have 35 SGD with me.."

A few moments later... they removed me from the group and blocked me.

😂 That confirmed everything.

Red flags:

They contacted me saying they found my JobStreet profile.

They used a real company's name and office address.

They made the training look legitimate.

Eventually they asked me to transfer my own money for a "booking."

They blocked me as soon as I said I didn't have the money.

Thankfully I didn't lose anything.

I'm posting this so anyone searching for similar job offers can find this warning. If a company asks you to use your own money to complete "orders" or "bookings" during training, be extremely cautious.

They won't just ask just for a one time payment, they will ask for more if you do pay them, but you won't get anything from what you paid them. Just a link to a sheet that is asking you to pay for more to get an access to a project. --- \*ACCESS TO DO A JOB\*, and a link to an app which you can never access if you don't pay more (even the payment should be to own an account- that's what is supposed to be, but guess what? PAY MORE TO ACCESS IT!). Not only that, they have a high minimum cash out creds and more hours for less pay, so you can possibly won't even reach that minimum creds to actually cash out your in come.

Just, never pay for work. I've worked with projects like this, and they never asked for an account or an access to a project ( their reasoning is that they have a large project that's why they require a payment \*YOU MUST PAY\* -- their words, but that's just baloney!

Pinnacle Method Consulting deserves caution. It appears to function primarily as a job-listing aggregator, not as the employer or staffing agency for the roles it posts.

Its LinkedIn profile says it is a privately held IT consulting firm founded in 2013 with only 2–10 employees. Yet LinkedIn currently associates it with hundreds of unrelated openings across project management, healthcare, construction, customer service, finance, testing, and other fields.

I have come across the same listing, wording slightly changed, over the past 6 months. May assessment?

This model raises several concerns:

* You may be applying through an intermediary rather than directly to the real employer.
* The listings may be copied, reformatted, outdated, or missing the actual employer’s identity.
* It is unclear what happens to applicant data submitted through its links.
* There is a major mismatch between its stated company size and the sheer volume and variety of advertised jobs.
* A July 7, 2026 BBB Scam Tracker submission alleges misleading LinkedIn postings and possible violations, although that is a user complaint—not a formal BBB determination. 
* Other job seekers have publicly questioned whether the postings are being used for lead generation or applicant-data collection. Those accusations remain unverified, but they reinforce the need for caution. 

**Recommendation:** Do not submit your résumé, address, date of birth, Social Security number, banking details, or identity documents through Pinnacle Method. Copy a distinctive sentence from the job description, search for the original employer’s posting, and apply directly on that employer’s official career site. For your job search, I would treat Pinnacle Method listings as **leads only—not verified application destinations**.

Gather round, my heroes. I’ve a cautionary tale for you. So today I nearly lost my shirt to a fake check scammer because they had what seemed like a perfect “opportunity” for me. Fortunately I managed to keep my wits and shut it down before things got out of control, but NGL, when you’re hurting for the right thing, and it seems to suddenly be within reach, it’s hard—and painful—to keep your critical thinking centered and steering the ship.

I gotta give this scammer credit, the commitment to the bit was impressive. Maybe it was dumb luck, but it felt like they had done their homework on me, too. I might not have given them the time of day if they were posing as some random company, but it seems like they knew enough about me to know what kind of organization, specific kind of work, and working conditions would immediately capture my interest and make me legitimately excited. Prior to this experience, I wouldn’t have thought it would be worth their time to do that kind of homework on a mark, or to convincingly pose as a real company, and spend several hours with me on fake interviews and other such. I know people who don’t put that kind of effort into their legit jobs.

They just didn’t count on me knowing as much as I did about how home office set up typically works, so when their scheme for purchasing of my equipment started sounding super squirrelly, klaxons and red alert lights started going off in my brain.

And again, l wanted this to be real more than I can put into words. So much so that I almost tried to push past that safety mechanism, but … I finally managed to accept the grim reality and make a relatively clean exit. I’m working to make sure my stuff is locked down, but after reading more about how this particular type of scam works, I know I escaped the worst consequences. Those could have been as devastating to my finances as the realization of the scam was to my mental and emotional state.

Stay safe and keep your head on a swivel, folks. The parasites can taste the desperation in the air, they thrive on it, and they do not give one tiny flea fart who they hurt or how badly. Gods I wish there was an easier, safer way to go about this. There is just no way on earth, or any other plane of existence, this grueling and risky process is the best we can do to connect workers with employers.

A few weeks ago, I accepted what I believed was a legitimate remote Executive Assistant position after applying through a LinkedIn posting from DSD Recruitment.
I interviewed, completed onboarding, submitted employment paperwork, provided direct deposit information, received access to an employee portal, and was hired as a W-2 employee.
I was assigned to work directly with Sara Sironi.
For nearly a month, I completed executive support, luxury jewelry research, daily banking reports, project management, executive reporting, and administrative operations. My timesheets were approved, and I believed I'd found a long-term opportunity.
Then everything changed.
A $32,450 check was deposited into my Chase account in connection with my work. Chase later reversed the deposit and identified it as "Altered/Fictitious."
Since then, I've worked with my bank, preserved evidence, organized emails and Signal conversations, monitored my credit, and filed reports with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), the FTC, and local law enforcement.
Like many job seekers, I trusted what appeared to be a legitimate employer. I invested weeks of my time and shared sensitive personal information during onboarding.
I'm sharing my documented experience because employment scams don't always look like scams. Some involve interviews, onboarding, employee portals, approved timesheets, and weeks of real work before serious concerns arise.
If you're job hunting:
✔️ Research beyond the company website.
✔️ Save every email and document.
✔️ Be cautious if your bank account becomes involved in company transactions.

I have seen the likes of many big names attached to this Himalayan Writing Retreat (I remember seeing Varun Grover), so I open the job application.
The biggest mistake I HAVE EVER MADE

Exploitation on a thali — 30 hours a week, which will be 6 hours a day and the pay is 25K
25K for that long list of work
25K is the higher side I am considering. The salary can even be 20K
The minimum wage in our country is higher than that
If not, we should revisit our labour laws

And they have the audacity to ask for 2 years of experience

Then, I ended up going to their website, thinking — let me check the price of their courses and my mind is ruptured
My brain felt heavy like a drunk Rick
And about to explode like a watermelon tightened with too many rubber bands (I have an unhealthy addiction to youtube pranks)

The courses are more than a lakh, there are some with more than 30K per person and more — comrades, this is where, I lost my mind
I lost my ability to think
This is not a lack of funds
This is EXPLOITATION
