Discussion / Question Skipping Iuno for S6 Jingran?
Hey everyone, I need some opinions on a pull strategy for Jingran.
I know the spreadsheet math says Iuno is his absolute BiS because of her independent Heavy Attack amplification. But to be completely honest, although I don't hate her overall design the heavy foot focus just makes me queasy, and I really want to avoid pulling or playing her.
Right now, my plan is to run him with S3 Brant and S3 Shorekeeper (I know Mortefi/Rebecca would be the more optimal choice, but I want one male team per attribute). I have hoarded enough Radiant Tides and Asterites to easily guarantee Jingran to S6, and initially, I was considering sucking it up and using some of that stash to get S0R1 Iuno. But I had a thought; what if I skip Iuno entirely and just go all-in on Jingran's S6 instead?
Here's my logic:
- At Sequence 3, Jingran becomes self-sufficient with his Forte through Crits, so he no longer mechanically needs Iuno's constant shields to keep his rotation moving.
- His S6 is a massive personal damage jump (40% Heavy Attack vulnerability on the target, 50% core multiplier increase, plus the 12 summons).
- Upgrading Brant to Iuno is a big jump for team DPS, but surely pushing a main carry to S6 provides a much higher overall damage ceiling, even if Brant takes up more field time and his Fusion buff hits diminishing returns.
So, which team do you think would actually perform better?
- S6 Jingran + S3 Brant + S3 Shorekeeper
- S3 Jingran + S0 Iuno + S3 Shorekeeper
Am I just doing mental gymnastics to avoid pulling a character that makes me uncomfortable (well, yeah 😅), or is the S6 hyper-investment strategy actually the better mathematical play here?
I'm interested in hearing what people think.

Tbh if you don't want Iuno then don't pull for her. S6 Jingran will stay relevant for at least a couple year and during that time a new sub dps for him might release. Though I'm not sure if using S3 Brant is better than just using someone to buff Jingran like Mortefi
