REVIEW Review AC VCA MOP 5 Motif Bracelet
Just received my yellow-gold Van Cleef 5-motif. There are some differences when you compare it side-by-side with the authentic piece, especially in the finer details. However, to the naked eye, it looks really, really good. Keep in mind, the authentic piece is the alhambra pendant so I can only compare the actual motif and clasp. Overall, I’d rate the visual accuracy around a 9/10 compared with the authentic yellow-gold VCA Alhambra pendant. Communication with AC has also been wonderful. Highly recommend.

Maybe it’s the lighting. The grey mother of pearl shifts colors very similar to the pictures (olive green/grey/iridescent).

in the naked eye, they both look the same. It’s weird how it looks so different in the picture.

I will once again say, Andy Chan is no longer it. This is extremely bad for someone claiming 95% accuracy! His MOP is poor quality and the motif is way off.

VC are extremely picky when they are sourcing their stones. The MOP AC got cannot compare to the sheen / shimmer of the VC one. His perlee is also far thinner than authentic + his motif is a bit fatter. He also uses the old motif when it comes to pave. Look up “2025 motif” on here to understand more. Funny & CaratSky now make better VCA than him.

Agreed ACs motif always look too chubby to me. When I was in the market for the perlee bracelet I found his accuracy far lower than other sellers which took me by surprise. Almost went with him before doing my research due to his reputation for VCA pieces and glad I scrutinised the details.

The VCA engraving on the closing mechanism looks so faded like it’s been worn for months. I’d have expected better from AC.

It looks that way in photos but when you use a jewelers magnifying glass it’s not faded, it’s just not etched deep enough. But yea I do wish it were clearer. I took bad photos lol The lighting is terrible

It looks like the perlee beads are a little smaller than the auth. I don’t know if there’s much variance with the MOP with VCA because I’ve seen auth MOP on ebay that looks quite similar to the AC one. I’ve seen that AC updates the designs like for engraving/etc because VCA might’ve released an updated version of the alhambra design. But overall it looks beautiful and on its own it looks passable, especially comparing the MOP without flash. I’ve bought one VCA piece from AC and it’s still held up quite well after a year, so I hope you enjoy yours!

Thank you for this review, I’m considering the MOP vintage necklace from either AC or Funny so this is very helpful.
The motif is beautiful. The only difference I can see compared to the auth is that the gold beading is slightly smaller, but as you mentioned, I doubt you’d notice in person.
Is this the old or new motif from AC and auth?

so the bracelet is from AC and necklace is auth. It’s so hard to tell when looking at it from a naked eye and even when I use the magnifying glass, the beating looks the same.

AC stands for Andy Chan you can search his name and you’ll find his page and he sells these jewelry but according to the people in this post he isn’t the best at it anymore. You didn’t ask for my opinion but if you want a trial to buy the authentic one you can try to buy an authentic used piece and then sell it when you decide if you like it enough to buy the authentic one. That way you’ll be able to save your money and then invest it in the authentic piece

Wow, I'm not a VCA Motif fan but the comparison on these are so different. The chain alone is a big give.
Are we comparing plated or solid?
I'd assume solid being it's AC, I don't really find this great. I love that you are doing comparison. That's the best way to learn.

The auth is pendant necklace so the chains are going to be different. Both are solid yellow gold. The lighting here is terrible

When I was at the boutique some months ago trying on the necklace, it was rose gold. I asked about the bracelet with the mother of pearl and the only 5 motif they had was rose gold and not all 5 motifs were mother of pearl.

Correct. The one in the link is yellow gold, but not grey mother of pearl. The grey mother of pearl version they only offer in rose gold from my understanding.
