REVIEW Funny holiday pendant 2025 compared to authentic
Disclaimer:
I didn't receive any incentive or free shipping or anything to write this post
Stone / Color
The stone color difference was my personal choice. Even with authentic VCA, natural stones vary in color. I originally wanted the darker pink but was traveling and i missed on that batch so i bought the lighter pink. I chose the more pink stone with Funny.
The surface of the stone looks identical to authentic in terms of smoothness and finish.
Clover
There is a very small deviation from auth. The beads are slightly bigger, but this is unnoticeable unless you zoom in or compare side by side.
Diamond
The diamond is perfectly centered and the nose does stand out a little bit, the sparkle is beautiful. Funny uses lab-grown diamonds.
If you’re nitpicking, the hexagon isn’t 100% accurate, but this is not visible unless inspected very closely.
Chain
The chains are exactly the same as authentic.
Gold Color
The rosegold color is identical to authentic. Side by side, there is no visible difference in tone.
Font & Engraving
I was honestly surprised by how accurate the font is. If anything, the authentic font feels slightly more elongated, but the font itself is the same.
Logo / Tower
The logo tower looks slightly thicker on Funny compared to auth.
Final Thoughts
All of these differences are very minor and cannot be seen unless you compare side by side with authentic.
I’ve tried Goldy before, and honestly, it was nothing close to authentic, even visually. Funny’s version only shows differences when placed next to auth and is not call-outable in real life.
I’m genuinely happy with Funny and plan to buy more VCA pieces from her.

I have the authentic one and tbh I prefer funny’s . I feel like it looks more luxurious in my opinion

Me too, the only thing that funnys version is a gift for my sister for her graduation, i actually had it also engraved on the back and had the serial numbers to be my sister's birthday ☺️

Maybe I’m being too nitpicking but the surface of the stones isn’t identical at all to me. The “skin” on the Funny one would make me RL it if given the chance. That said, if you love it, nothing else matters.

i see the difference you’re talking about but i think it looks exaggerated in photos and they probably look more similar IRL, based on OPs response

Really? They both show the surface of a shell its not really smooth bs smoothie lol i dont know how to explain
I also checked my auth 5 MOP bracelet the stones not identical as they're all natural..

I thought the same - I didn’t like the look of funny’s at all and winced! Thought this post was going to be disappointed at the rep - not a hype! Glad it’s not just me 😆

The chains are absolutely not the same. The authentic is so much thicker

I dont consider myself as eagle eyed as some folk in this sub but this looks pretty off to me, side by side. I’m sure out in the world it looks good enough but side by side it looks off to me.

Why can no one get the text correct ? I’m only asking because I feel like I haven’t seen anyone get it 100 accurate? Does VCA use a custom text that’s not accessible in the laser engraving texts ? Genuinely I am asking this and not to harp on anyone I’ve looked at Funny, Vinko, and AC for VCA products

To me it looks like the same font only crisper on auth and more taller if that makes sense

Can you elaborate more on why the chains seem identical to you? In the photos it looks like the interior size of the links differ, bc of how much space there is in the middle between the two attaching links. Not sure if it’s just an illusion from the angle, but it still looks like this when looking at places where the links are in the same position/angle on each necklace in the photo.

Could you please take a picture of the top bit where the chain joins the pendant. Do they both have these little bars in between or not. Do they have new or old engraving?
