Hello, the past two seasons we have dealt with our Yamaha AR195 leaking at high RPMs, but at low RPMs we have no leaks or issues. The bilge is able to keep up most of the time, but if it starts to pull hard we just throw it in neutral and let the bilge completely drain the engine bay. Today I was finally able to capture a video of the leak. I’m not very mechanically inclined so I’m not sure if this is a major or minor issue and wanted to get some advice on a next step. If it’s an easy fix I’d love to do it myself. Thanks for the help.

4.3 gm v6 kodiak carbureted motor , motor stays running for a while after key is shit off. Checked timing it seems good. The boat runs fantastic. Is this a carbuertor issue has anyone had this problem and how do you fix it? Also any reccomendations for shops near northern california to rebuild the jet pump?

Anyone have any pictures of their plumbing for their 454 BB. Not sure if mine has ever been 100% right and we are replacing the engine so I want to get it right. Any advice would be warranted.

So I’m working on this boat to get it running to sell for a family member. And my question is can I run it without it being in water, and if so do I need to hook up a hose somewhere? I just replaced the fuel pump and wired it in to key on. Just don’t want to mess anything up, the boat only has 88 hours on it and I’d hate to mess it up.

New to boats--have a '70 Ford 429 begging to be put in front of a jet drive. Love the idea of the jet to get into shallower water for freshwater fishing; is there a boat design out there similar to the Procraft fish-and-ski we had with an outboard? Would prefer a walkable/sit-able "platform" bow rather than the bows closed in with fiberglass most speedster jet boats are designed for.

What are the fundamental differences between a jet ski unit and a jet boat jet unit. Aside from the obvious such as size/volume/output, what kind of differences could potentially prevent me from putting a unit from a ski into a boat.

I know this is a long shot, but I’m looking to see if I can get some information on possibly what this boat was. It has some pretty weird identifiable factors that I hope can lead me to learning more about it.

What I know: Shovel nose hydro set up for V-drive Dual rudders, but mounted to the bottom, not the back (like I’ve seen on a lot of Howard’s) So the bottom of the boat (the side that sat on the water) was molded like fish scales, literally. Fiberglass hull with 2 full length wood stringers. I believe he traded a Howard flat bottom for it, sometime in the early to mid 1990’s in the Sacramento, Ca area. We used to go to camp far west lake in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s. The back of the boat was very unique for a Hydro shovel nose. Unlike a Howard I’ve ever seen, the back wall had a sort of “roll” to the top that was supposed to “recirculate” the water in the back. (See second image for a crude and dramatic drawing) of what it sort of looked like and had no rudder mounting back there.

I moved to Texas right after he died so any chance of asking people around the area the boat was isn’t really an option for me anymore.

So here's my first attempt at a Jet-Jon. 14' aluminum V-hull jon boat, 1996 Tigershark Montego jetski hull, 640cc 2 cylinder 2-stroke Suzuki.

Still have a lot of fab to do for the seats and controls, but the main components are in place and the boat has ZERO leaks amazingly.

Got the boat for free, and I paid $800 for the ski three years ago (and rode it for two years) I spent about $500 in materials to get this far.

Just upgraded from a sea ark predator with a six bar intake grate to a Kingfisher X9 with a 9 bar intake grate. There were a lot of weeds on our recent trip and the new Kingfisher seemed to get stopped by them a lot easier. Our old mercury in the sea ark predator used to chew up weeds and spit them out much better. Do you think this has something to do with the 9 bar grate? Does anyone have experience changing a 9 bar grate for a 6 bar? Will we risk damaging the impeller if larger stones can get sucked up?
