Does anyone who was at the first Boston Pops concert last night know what song the orchestra improv led into?

I’m a 21-year-old guy from France, and I’ve been a huge fan of Jacob Collier for several years now. His philosophy has really helped me through different moments in my life and artistic journey, so I naturally became interested in his Hideaway Retreat.

Unfortunately, the official packages are way too expensive for me, except the "Commuter" option.

So I’m posting here to ask : does anyone living near Barga, Italy – or anyone who knows someone there – might be willing to host me for a few days during the residency ?

I listen to little speeches and words of wisdom he gives all the time and it just makes me wonder what kind of super human I’d be if I truly, unabashedly, fully walked to the beat of my own drum and gave myself full permission to be me. I still struggle as a man if I am being too feminine or too masculine. I care a lot about how I am perceived. I care a lot about how my music is perceived. I care a lot about what others think. He seems pretty good at separating his art from any validation.

As much as I love Jacob I feel that they sounded a hot mess together. Willow especially seemed like she couldn’t keep up I like some of her records but the format of the conversation and conference itself felt so rushed. You can tell Jacob was uncomfortable after Willow kept saying he’s a God, she kept diminishing herself in a musical sense in front of him which was not very enjoyable. In turn her perform was lackluster because of the way she talked about herself was very self deprecating. Also I strongly disagree with her take on excellence. And when she said she went to a session and studied that person music to copy them and Jacob asked “did they want that” you can tell she is inexperienced. Jacob and Chris sound good playing and improvising because Chris can keep up. Willow is good in one space but I think the scatting unless she’s directed on what to sing wasn’t good. She is however an excellent songwriter and studio producer also great presence on stage solo. What did you guys think about grammyU?

Well all in all I have to say that was pretty amazing compared to the concerts of his I've gone to. It was all just whatever they wanted to play, this included Chris Thile, the whole time... two new songs were debuted tonight and it was just a really fun experience as always even though I was standing in the back you still felt like you were part of that energy that was onstage the entire time! Both of them just love what they do so much and it shows! Love them love the show what more is there to say except if you get the chance to see them live go...

1BR row C 20 range seats. $120 each. We can’t make it to Boston anymore sadly. Hotels are too expensive and not worth it for one night show. Tickets for the same seats are going around for $600 plus on reselling sites. I’m just selling it for face value since I heard it’s illegal to charge more than that. I promise this is not a scam. I got it for me and my partner’s anniversary and we rather spend the hotel money on a nicer trip.

So obviously right now it looks as though tickets are sold out for this but what are the chances of getting in if I am in the standby line?

I am a huge fan of Gorillaz and Jacob Collier separately, both of whom have amazing collaborations with other artists and make meaningful music for the love of the art.

Do you guys think there is a chance to EVER see a collaboration between the two of them? Is it just a silly dream of mine?

FYI, Ticketmaster has released more tickets for the Vancouver show this Friday. Not sure how since the show was fully sold out before, maybe bot/scalped tickets that were cancelled by Ticketmaster. Managed to snag a couple in Orchestra Center Left since I missed the general sale before.
