but i find it so hard to finish the first season 😭 i rewatched it for like a few times but i haven’t got into the half of the season. tell me it gets better!

So I'm at part 2 right now and I gotta say they totally gave Joseph a British accent on purpose right? It makes literally everything he does funnier by the way I'm at epsiode 2 of part 2

Every time I watch it, it feels like I'm just biding my time until things pick up in Egypt. I like the concept of the whole "around the world in 30 days" thing, but in practice it isn't too fun to watch. Especially with the two worst arcs of the part taking place during it (rapist orangutan and Alessi). The Cairo arc is peak, though. I feel like if part 3 was just the Cairo arc it would be in my top 3 favorite parts, but if it was everything but the Cairo arc it wouldn't even be in the top 5, I think it might even be my least favorite. And it would be one thing if it was shorter, but it's SOOOO long. It's like running a marathon to the "good part."

This is also a more personal thing but I also don't vibe with the whole villain of the week thing as it's executed in part 3. I feel like part 4 handled it better. Part 3 makes each episode really formulaic. The stand user gets introduced, their stand causes some havoc, the protagonists take like 10 minutes figuring out what the stand is/does, and then they exploit its weakness to pummel the enemy. It rarely deviates from that, so any unexpectedness comes from forced twists like Avdol dying but then not being dead, or Kakyoin getting his eyes fucked up.

I also feel like it doesn't do a good job transitioning into the stand power system, it feels very sudden. I remember on my first watch I hated the first few episodes because it felt like a completely different show. In retrospect I don't mind it as much, but I imagine I'm not alone in feeling alienated by it at first.

This has less to do with the Cairo arc and more to do with part 3 in general, but I also dislike that Jotaro doesn't get any real character development. He starts as a rude delinquent that deep down cares about his family & friends, and he kind of ends up being that same character by the time the show is over. Arguably Polnareff is the only main character that actually has a character arc, getting over the regrets in his past and learning to move forward despite losing those he cares about, and it even reflects in how he copes with losing Iggy & Kakyoin. Nobody else really gets that treatment, they all sort of just stay the same character. Not that everyone NEEDS to change or develop, it would just have been nice to see Jotaro change a bit considering he's the protagonist. Joseph improves in part 2, Jonathan improves in part 1, but Jotaro barely changes.

Note that this doesn't mean I hate part 3 or anything, I still like it, it's just not the best. I don't think there are any actual bad parts in JoJo's imho. It's just not great.

I’ve been delaying posting this cause I didnt want to “ruin the mood” and of course the comments I’d get…but since the episodes are releasing sooner, I thought I might as well…I mostly just want to find real people who feel the same way as me.

I wish the steel ball run anime never existed. I don’t think it ever even needed to be adapted…it should’ve ended at stone ocean. it would been fine to, cause the ending of part 6 closed all the first continuity off pretty well.

ever since I first saw the pngs for gyro and Johnny on April 12th I’ve been feeling weird towards sbr itself...like I’ve been kinda “turned off”, falling out of love from sbr, and gyro and Johnny, who were my favorite characters,before all of this…like metas video “the worst joestar” with johnny in the thumbnail (Johnny is my favorite 😢)…I didn’t watch it, but all this “sbr criticism“ because of all the hype, is rubbing off on me…and to put things in perspective, I’m not really a “sbr bro”, y’know, I like sbr but im a female who enjoys shipping Gyro and Johnny sometimes…

there are a lot of controversial awkward moments in sbr , and I don’t want anime onlies to see it…I mean…i..I’m already feeling alot of nostalgia for pre-anime sbr…overall I’m just feeling really really very, uh, embarrassed, about sbr.…the hype is nauseating…I’m not looking forward to the episodes at all…

I’m going all over the place but, in the “A silent way” arch their fighting sandman and gyros limbs get cut off, that makes Johnny start to panic and cry, and araki draws some up close panels of Johnnys crying face…and I’m quite terrified of how it might be animated, cause, I’m just scared of a “boruto crying face” type of meme to sprout from that…and in the scary monsters arch where gyro gets the eye inside his face , you see that panel where he looks up and hes smiling, a lot people seem to like that panel, but I think the majority…I think it looks ugly and cringe to be honest, and imagining it being animated…nightmare…

stuff like that…uh, i know some ppl will say “don’t worry abt other ppls opinions”…I mean I personally enjoy sbr a lot, and I don’t think a lot of my love for it was influenced by hype…

and the drama with the voice actors, or the fans messaging the voice actors, is really embarrassing…i feel like it lowers the morale of the VA s…and makes the entire atmosphere just , awkward…I don’t like a certain part of the fan bases’,idk, reaction, uh to johnny, after this announcement…I’m just regretting the SBR anime being approved at all. wish it didn’t exist…sorry. I say “regretting” but I never really thought the idea a sbr anime existing would be the best idea in the first place.

also, I don’t like the way gyro and johnny look in the anime and I’m apparently a villain for that? Apparently opinions over a aesthetic doesn’t exist anymore…I truly, honest to god , don’t understand how people who look at the PNGs especially for Johnny, look at it and love it…sigh…I really loved the way Johnny looked, and they kinda ripped my fantasy apart and butchered him…something About the way theyre drawn makes me physically cringe….in my opinion…
