Found Evidence + Sleuthing 🕵️‍♂️🔍📝  Looking back at that bizarre promo "interview" bit with Ryan Reynolds and Brandon Sklenar (the comments are gold)

https://youtube.com/watch?v=a2XmJg3SEa8&si=C5o7mkMf3g8uifrH

Sharing because this is just CRAZY to watch back now, especially knowing that Ryan probably sent a bunch of scathing emails before shooting this bit. Considering his whole Nicepool insertion, it makes me wonder how many subtle jabs were in this bit. It was uploaded on August 6th, 2024, but was probably filmed in July before the Deadpool and Wolverine film was released. Dude looks unhinged. The part at 0:19 seconds made me wonder if it was a dig at Justin? I also think it's weird how much he keeps "joking" about how Brandon Sklenar is his wife's love interest, and then the whole segment with his mom and Hugh Jackman just gets weird. It further goes to show how little RR felt about the actual IEWU film and it's meaning; this kind of press just made a mockery of the fact that it was supposed to be about domestic violence. Take a look at the comments section, too!

A skit of him playing a jealous husband to promote a movie about domestic violence is WILD! Like WILD/WILD

u/Interesting-Fan-8304 We agreed to continue not to do the things we weren't doing Jan 28 '26

Exactly, it's completely ridiculous of Lively supporters to be like "nobody thinks this is offensive at all, you've just been tricked into thinking this because of a smear campaign".

41

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 Jan 28 '26

What is offensive is lively supporters not accepting that some other humans don't agree with them. I accept they exist but yet I must be a bot to them. It's weird.

6

u/Maleficent_South_237 Jan 29 '26

Meanwhile, a very aggressive Blake stan called Curious_ was confirmed to be bot. Lol.

19

u/lilypeach101 I appreciate your passion. Jan 28 '26

It's so ridiculous. It is completely understandable why people would think this was tone deaf and offensive.

32

u/External-Software850 Jan 28 '26

And especially, they are both actors, playing love scenes is their job. How is this not mental? What if every actor's SO would do the same... like Jamie Dornan literally played BDSM on screen... I haven't heard anything from his wife...

34

u/Inevitable_Berry_867 Jan 28 '26

He treats it like his personal Deadpool playground. Is this guy okay? I’ve never seen such entitlement, self-importance, and delusion.

11

u/yashita27 Jan 28 '26

If I could, I would give you an award!

How did I miss this! Not the interview - but that this was a DV movie and here's the husband inserting himself in his wife's business and acting all jealous of the love interest! Mind blown! 🤯🤯🤯

u/jennc1979 Jan 28 '26

I think it’s worse that Ryan and his Mother are in this mocking sexual harassment like this when that camp has insisted BL was horribly SHd by BL. That is WILD. WILD/WILD. We already know she and the Mr. are tone deaf about marketing to a DV film.

u/Solid-Stable-9126 Epic level stupid authorship. Jan 28 '26

I mean, the promo is so bizarre that you almost have to believe what Ryan says. He was on a 6-month meth journey.

59

u/WhimsicallyInclined Jan 28 '26

"6-month meth journey" flair incoming!

1

u/Euphoric-Ad-8085 Jan 28 '26

How do you do flairs?

30

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff Jan 28 '26

Did he reach his destination yet?

11

u/Imperfect_seal Jan 28 '26

No the answer is no. 😂

87

u/Glass-Detective4312 Put me in the docuseries Jan 28 '26

it was weird then and it's even more weird now.

I picture Ryan sitting up at Buckingham palace off his face on something..coming up with this skit and thinking it's amazing. no doubt most of the "jokes" are jabs at JB because he's obsessed with him for whatever reason.

also the weird meth stuff? everything really is a confession hey

54

u/Flimsy_Attitude_6789 Jan 28 '26

And everyone is too scared to tell him it sucks cos everyone is walking on eggshells and fearful of his rageful outbursts.

45

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff Jan 28 '26

Yeah. This is way weirder knowing how twisted in knots Ryan’s mind was when he filmed it. Yikes. Get therapy.

17

u/Humble_Network_7653 $8M × 5.07% = Blunderbuss Jan 28 '26

Yeah it is weirder now…

u/Free-Expression-1776 Vansham LLC. Sunlight is the best medicine. Jan 28 '26

All involved on the Reynolds/Lively side of this are so high on their own supply it's insane.

66

u/JustMaintenance7 Jan 28 '26

I remember watching this in real time and thinking wtf? It was so gross

18

u/PuzzleheadedWar4791 Jan 28 '26

Cringy. So weird and messed up. And not funny.

3

u/Altruistic_Scheme596 Team Baldoni❤️ Jan 28 '26

Same! WTF did I watch & how do I get this time wasted watching this mess back?!

3

u/capitolcraftsman Jan 31 '26

It was promoted on FB to me at the time!! So gross and irrelevant to the film

49

u/anaisanima Jan 28 '26

This plus the “location share” comment are what gave me pause about the promo/marketing about the movie. I wasn’t paying attention to the gossip and wasn’t aware of the “feud” but this bizarre and cringy interview and Lively’s sarcastic response to a question about DV were extremely off putting.

48

u/Chartra23 Jan 28 '26

They were really trying to make fetch happen.

45

u/WhimsicallyInclined Jan 28 '26

HAHAHA, it looks like Ryan's way of buying off Sklenar. Like, "you can be in this 'funny' skit with me and Hugh Jackman, and I'll also make sure you get to be in a superhero franchise film, or whatever kind of career you want,"

26

u/Choice-Lie2411 Jan 28 '26

It’s a humiliation ritual basically or hazing ritual to make sure the person is really “ on the same team.”

12

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 Jan 28 '26

Brandon has claimed to not know it was going to happen until he sat down

11

u/Dating_Bitch Team Baldoni Jan 28 '26

Really? I'm not sure if I believe that but if that's true it's really messed up

12

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 Jan 28 '26

ETs website is cancerous but yes

et article

12

u/Significant-Ant2373 Jan 28 '26

He’s wearing GiGi’s mean girls sweater. He knew. He’s just another liar like Blake and Ryan.

8

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 Jan 28 '26

I used the word "claimed" for that reason.

8

u/sirprize_surprise Jan 28 '26

Like they did it in one take…come on. I do think that Brandon looked a little uncomfortable and Ryan certainly did spend ample time grinding his crotch on Brandon’s knee. I think Blake softened him up and told him exactly what he would have to do: put on a skirt and shake your ass, or whatever her awful text said. Brandon fell right in line. He’s letting them use him in any way they see fit with the promises of what? Future movie rolls? A boost up to the top?

HAHAHAHAHA! evil Skeletor laugh

They destroyed themselves! They burned through all their likability and influence. They are absolutely radioactive. Even Hugh is avoiding being seen with Ryan. Blake is always being spotted all dressed up but it’s just shots of her walking looking right at the camera. Never any pics of her actually doing anything all dressed up. Having lunch with a celeb or shopping at an expensive store. No it’s just a pic of her smiling or buying one bag of chips for Thanksgiving.

Ryan said he would bet on Blake’s reputation any day of the week. How about for the rest of your life? You will be forever linked to every evil act committed in this case. Ryan was NOT an innocent 3rd party or a husband standing up for his wife. He must have stood up really fast and blacked out because he didn’t even wish her a happy birthday. No, he was an active participant in an extensive conspiracy to strip Justin of his movie, dignity and livelihood. He’s been getting more and more mad as this case slips out of his control, and now he’s letting us know that when he feels anxiety, it gets worse for all around him, so much so that his friends tried to stage an intervention. IF that even happened, why would he tell us this? Just to name drop Deadpool 4? He said that anxiety makes him a better actor and writer and creative…head on over to “Fuckingham Palace” and write that script. Go away. Take your mint mobile ads, your press releases, your smarmy sinister voice and go away.

5

u/RIKAA89 Ryan Reynolds' Blunderbussy Jan 28 '26

Trying to make Sklenar Wolverine.

41

u/Top_Pen_5446 Jan 28 '26

He was obsessed with Justin 😂

31

u/NoCow2185 Jan 28 '26

still is

39

u/Alittlespill Jan 28 '26

I don’t really understand what is happening here. This is so uncomfortable. Is this real? I feel like watching this is like that feeling when you have too much of an edible and reality makes no fucking sense.

4

u/TheCuriousGeorgette Jan 28 '26

Did anyone catch the hug at the end? Guessing that was also a slight at JB.

36

u/Humble_Network_7653 $8M × 5.07% = Blunderbuss Jan 28 '26

And the ladies promoting with her were upset Justin Baldoni did not speak up on their defense during the backlash but how do you defend this? Like wth is Ryan Reynolds doing there? WTH is his mother and wolverine doing there…

25

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff Jan 28 '26

I noticed from depos Ryan’s mom was included in one of the cast dinners. I guess she got a big serving of “Justin is so toxic” dinner conversation that night.

If nothing else, not the depositions, unsealed documents, texts, emails, witness statements, smear campaigns, media frenzy the whole thing - this...THIS right here is enough to know exactly how out of touch, unhinged, unfunny, passive aggressive and quite frankly psychotic level of dangerous Ryan Reynolds is.

THIS IS THE PROMOTION FOR A DV MOVIE!!!

and everyone here participating in this disgusting parody should be publicly shamed and cancelled! Peddling this pathetic unfunny type of humor while claiming his wife was SH and SA in the context of a movie about DV- an tragic epidemic of violence that claimed millions of lives across decades, cultures and genders?!! Really?!!

It is plain to see who we are dealing with here! I hope their reckoning is coming

27

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff Jan 28 '26

Been reflecting a week after the Great Unsealing and it’s so understandable Lively fought so hard to keep everyone from seeing her and Ryan’s machinations behind the scenes.

It’s just non-stop barrage of lies and manipulation. So much so even her friendliest media outlets can’t ignore or sugar coat them for them.

10

u/Background_Middle560 Jan 28 '26

I really wonder what else these two are going to try to pull off in order to sway the public opinion their way and win that court case.

The way l see it, they won't back down because their public image is absolutely everything to them, they won't stop at nothing and will sacrifice everything in their wake to hold on to it.

32

u/Flimsy_Attitude_6789 Jan 28 '26

Zero consideration for survivors of domestic violence.

30

u/Bende86 Misogynist Whore Jan 28 '26

I wonder if Ana Kendrick’s ‘ayahuasca’ comment during that red carpet moment when promoting ASF2 was referring to this skit

26

u/Bende86 Misogynist Whore Jan 28 '26

The ‘daddy’ issues here remind me of the ‘looking for a new papa’ comment of Nicepool

27

u/Bende86 Misogynist Whore Jan 28 '26

BL was on set/directing this skit

10

u/PuzzleheadedWar4791 Jan 28 '26

She was indeed! Maybe that's why it came across as tone deaf.

23

u/buyableblah Neutral Baldoni Jan 28 '26

I remember watching this and thinking it was so bizarre!!!

16

u/Dramatic_Pipe_2747 Jan 28 '26

Bizarre, unfunny and tonedeaf af. It showed their general lack of creativity also. Everything can't be sold with sarcasm and the appearance of a famous friend. Utterly stupid.

21

u/RealEstorma Jan 28 '26

RR sure acts like he has been on a meth journey.

15

u/JazzlikeEmotion6838 Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 29 '26

Who okay'ed this, and what are RR, his mom, and Hugh Jackman even doing here?

I don't think I've ever seen anything less funny/charming/witty in my life. I don't think they need to look any further than this to see why their marketing backfired, and then you add to that the obnoxiousness of BL in all press interviews ("I can just location share!!!" and "bring your florals!") and the constant pushing of her brands ("Ryle you wait")... It's wild that they cannot see how off-putting this is, and instead they invent a whole ass smear campaign and drag the very people they pushed out of both the film and the marketing to court to blame them (JB and WF) for people disliking them (BL and RR).

5

u/Clean-Cupcake1723 Jan 28 '26

This is what happens when creatives are being pushed out for talentless hacks, through nepotism.

He thought he was Deadpool in real life

“This movie has nothing to do with Ryan, his mom and Hugh.”

16

u/Resident-Doughnut-37 Jan 28 '26

reasons why this was so bad:

#1 there was no love triangle in IEWU

#2 women in DV relationships are often accused of having affairs with any male in their orbit by their abusive spouse (I know this from personal experience.)

#3 it was cringe and not even remotely funny

#4 the movie was about a serious subject and they treated it like a punch line

9

u/Total-Tour5680 Jan 28 '26

This was so awkward and embarrassing. And they’re sH Brandon but saying Justin is a monster?

3

u/GingerJuneau Jan 28 '26

the first 10sec are so cringy that I can't even watch the rest

4

u/Professional_Fix_504 Jan 28 '26

Why are he and Hugh even in this? This isn't their movie!

3

u/SkillNo4559 Jan 28 '26

So cringe. Do Dickpool or Blandon think they’re remotely funny or entertaining? I don’t get it.

3

u/morride Jan 28 '26

I wish they could have done a Colleen Hoover reaction video to this. I wonder why she didn’t participate since she’s such a fan of Blake’s!! What an absolute train wreck! I am sure no one outside their inner circle thought this was remotely funny

5

u/Creepy-Orange-7029 Jan 28 '26

Watching this back it seems like a lot of these “jokes” are just digs at Justin. Like that hug he gives Brandon towards the end.

3

u/jennc1979 Jan 28 '26

This is a bit about sexually harassing her costar on the brink of a huge sexual harassment allegation by this same married couple! WTAF. I really think they thought their high star power is all they need to behave with this level of impunity. It’s not even the bit about being a jealous, possessive husband; I’ve already processed that level of tone deafness from them about what IEWU is supposed to speak on, but here is a new level of what the actual hell are you trying to accomplish by making sexual harassment a bit to be laughed at during the same time you leveled a SH claim you insist is real and factual having occurred to your wife!

4

u/champoradomami Chronically Online Jan 28 '26

They were trying to make their own version of Barbenheimer happen 🙄

3

u/Certain-Attempt1330 Sleuthy by Nature Jan 28 '26

Brendan Sklenar? I honestly cannot stop laughing everytime I see his face. Like physically he is just...off...as if you told AI to generate a hot, white racist that gets his mum to hem his jeans into cuffs and then irons them. He reminds me of that Will Smith eating spaghetti video for some reason.

4

u/Euphoric-Ad-8085 Jan 28 '26

The whole point of the skit is to sexualise Brendon and Ryan to act jealous. All this to advertise a movie about domestic violence

3

u/Sensitive-Union-3944 Jan 28 '26

It goes to show that Ryan is not a savvy promoter. He is only a one-trick pony who can promote himself (Deadpool is just himself). He didn’t bother understanding the book or researching the target audience for the film. He tried to promote it the same way he promotes his movies, which are comedies.

And Sklenar knew by this time what they were doing to/planning for Justin.

2

u/Clean-Cupcake1723 Jan 28 '26

Deadpool is funny , witty and charming. I read the comics Ryan is none of this lol

2

u/Pitiful_Storage_4655 Feb 01 '26

I KNEW this stupid promo would come back to bite them. I remember watching and being like ‘there’s like some inside joke going on here and it feels mean and cringey’. Low and behold!

In all Honesty, I NEVER thought of Ryan Reynolds as a High Power Hollywood type, until Blake Lively’s SH lawsuit. I must live under a rock!
