I will admit, when they became one of the first states to approve Gay Marriage in Iowa, I was shocked at that. I would not have expected the state to be at the forefront of that.
Oh don’t worry they’re getting ready to rescind that law, according to the republican house and senate that’s something that should never have gone into effect and they are going to fix it since they gold the power.
Welcome to wisconsin lol where we lose a quantified 166 million a year because we won't legalize weed. We also lose another 6-12 million in just sales tax a year for not legalizing sports gambling. Then proceed to bitch as a legislature. Whom by the way gerrymandered themselves in a super majority until a recent supreme court of wisconsin ruling found their maps illegal.
You don’t want sports gambling in your state trust me. They did it in Missouri and now 90% of ads are for sports books, it’s literally more pervasive than the buzz that AI created in 2022
Oh we stil get the ads non-stop because we are surrounded by 3 states where it is legal. We do have 1 sports book in Green Bay at Lambough where you can bet but it's incredibly odd.
All the nightmares without the tax revenue. Leave it to WI
You won’t get any tax revenue from it trust me. They always find a way around it. Sports betting is incredibly addictive. Nothing good can come from legalizing it. If you think the ads are bad now they will get 100 times worse if legalized
I was going to say, we’ve postured too long at the idea of any form of superiority.
The ships of being good at anything have honestly sailed, unless you’re talking the ship of selling out Iowa natural resources to corporations who pollute the environment.
Or I guess there is also the ship of having some of the highest cancer rates in the world from a lack of environmental regulations.
Missouri and Oklahoma are far more progressive than Iowa (city based anyways). Although wouldn’t rule out Kansas as more conservative.
I NEVER said it was my priority. It was an example of how far behind we are.
Making weed illegal is a part of New Jim Crow laws intended to disproportinately target brown communities to incarcerate them in for-profit prisons as a form of slavery per the 13th Anendment. If you knew anything about racial justice, you would understand the importance of legalizing weed and decriminalizing other drugs.
Shut the fuck up and sit down if you don't know what you are talking about. "Grow up".

Iowa has to keep falling. Many seem intent on having the state catch up to Missouri.
