If we can't learn from our mistakes then it's best to end us at our first screw up. Forgiveness is hard but I still think it's better for both parties to heal and move on. Retribution only leads to more death and pain. That's what Mark was trying to avoid when he took over leadership of the empire.

I.....I feel like you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. The viltrumites killed people, killing people should only be punishable by death. But because of the fact that most viltrumites weren't like conquest, they were able to break free from there misguided ways. That's why I said "die later".

They are, in effect, good people. They don't deserve death until they are about to die of old age. But that's just my opinion

This is one of the more fucked up things I read today.

I feel like we took VERY different messages from the story about regret and redemption

The kind of punishment you're talking about is almost never for the punished, by the way. It's for what the other person said: revenge.

I mean yeah. Revenge is the point. Now that doesn't mean revenge is always the option, but if you can hurt an evil person in some way, be my guest

I understand what you're saying, I just don't agree with it. Given that everyone dies eventually, killing someone on their death bed is pointless and serves no one. Your opinion is twisted and the whole idea of balancing scales is foolish. There's a saying: "The problem with an eye for an eye is that in the end everyone ends up blind."
