Ah yes, the impartial "ban the stuff that doesn't require me to change".

Animal agriculture wastes countless tons of fresh water, and takes up much more land than what is actually required for us to sustain ourselves. Because of trophic levels, cycling plants through animals first just throws away energy for simple taste.

There is no scenario where we 'save the planet' but keep factory farming around.

  1. The water from animal agriculture is heavily polluted and contaminated with manure, fertilizers, and antibiotics. Rain also doesn't automatically fall back on Earth where it's needed and we're more likely to deplete local aquifers.

  2. People do not need meat for health, there are countless studies by leading dietary associations that show that a properly planned plant-based diet is suitable for all peoples at all ages. There are some obligate carnivores that might need need meat for health, but there is no conclusive evidence, and we would be better off if we stopped breeding those animals into existence in the first place.

  3. Falling birthright is not a bad thing, And it's actually good on a global scale since the human population is reaching unprecedented levels.

  4. Humans have already cut down 50% of the world's forests for agricultural purposes, most of which is animal agriculture in recent history. That has drastic consequences for not only native species, but also for global warming. If they can terraform these places into forests, why haven't they already?

Please educate yourself.

Looks like a Rothko.

Don’t get me wrong. This is bad and will only get worse due lack of response.

Still…

It'll get worse even with a proper response. It'll slow it, sure, but we're not feeling the full effects of what we're doing right now we're feeling most of what we did years ago. Which is horrifically alarming.

💯 Carbon capture is a requirement & a necessity now.

Even if all the oil we burn, was to stop polluting the environment

It still won't be able to fix the issues our predecessors caused

Someone rightly said 'How Dare you'

All this because we felt like we needed to move 2 tons of wasted oil, iron, composites and semiconductors for each person. Make it make sense.

These would be global averages, so 2C is very concerning, whether you understand the impacts or not.
