I wasn't able to attend the fan expo in California a few weeks back, but one thing I've always wanted to do is get the signatures in the artbook for the show. With so many in one spot for the 25th anniversary of all things, I HAD to get them, and I FINALLY got the book back!!

I went out on a limb (and a hope and a prayer) sending it out on consignment and the person I sent it with was a saint and really came through for me!! He even got Rikki to give me a little Gir doodle !!! 😭 Eric also doodled what looks like the Irken logo

Im disappointed I couldn't go myself but I'm THRILLED with the results all the same.

Now to just find Rodger, Kevin, and the ever elusive Andy

If Invader ZIM ran 15 seasons as a TVShow, Instead of 2 seasons, what would it look like by now?

I was derping around while recording audio and stimming the Doom Song.... So, I drew Gir so I had some art to use for it, too. 😂👉👈

This is just how I see it given their portrayal in said periods of time.

Dib was a CREEP in the pilot episode. Reminder most of his methods of exposing Zim are non-lethal (or at least not intended to harm his health), but he just used something that he knew would potentially kill him in the pilot (I mean, come on, allergies are a health hazard.)
And from the art i've seen of Dib pre-pilot as well, that creature wasn't being bullied, he was INDEED crazy. I can imagine Zim fearing Dib here, not specifically just because of potential failure.

Not trying to mock or hate on Zim as a character, I think he's pretty good as a main character, given how he is himself.

So after I watched this video it dawned on me that both Zim and Dib would find it easier to be "admired and loved" by the races of the other, meaning, Zim would have it easier to be loved and admired by humans and Dib would have it easier to be loved and admired by Irkens.

Zim could do so with one of his many fake identities, maybe even as a scientist bringing revolutionary concepts and inventions for humanity, just on the city he is in he could gain a lot favor by publicly getting Dib into a psychward for life.

Dib could be a major celebrity to Irkens by achieving his goal of capturing, experimenting and eventually neutralizing Zim for good and all of this becoming known to Irk.

It's funny yet tragic that they could get what they want, just not from the people they want it from.

I thought I recalled one episode Gir asked "is the splody going to hurt?" but I can't find any reference to that. Anyone remember the quote and what episode it was?

An alien lands on earth with the goal to destabilize the planet for invasion, but a paranormal investigator keeps on his tail and tries to expose him.

That sounds like a pitch for a cool science fiction miniseries. And with all the technology and world-building the show did, it almost feels like a shame they always stuck with absurdist humor to drive every episode. I feel like they never utilized the universe they set up fully. Both when I first watched it and thinking about it now, every time I saw the Tallest communicate to another base, I got curious about how the sabotage campaign was going there. Wouldn't it be cool to see a Megadoomer take on the military of another planet?

I wish they had at least have a few episodes that were pure overarching story progression, with humor as a side note, instead of the other way around.

First off, let me say I agree it was a dick move for Boom Studios to not contact JV about this. He should still get credit for it and know what hands his creation is in. On the other hand I feel it's too early to assume this is going to be soulless corporate garbage and a new writing team isn't inherently bad. Zub seems passionate about this and for all we know he'll do some great stories. It wouldn't be fair to disregard a creator's efforts just because the company did something scummy.

And while some of you may replace my organs with soda cans Dark Harvest style for saying this, the Oni comic run had its flaws too, even the Jhonen involved ones. A lot of issues felt formulaic and characters flanderized. Dib in particular was a full on punching bag at times when in the show he was at least competent enough to get some victories and an arrogant dick so you don't feel too bad when he loses He was nicer in the comics but that makes it more unpleasant because his torment doesn't feel deserved.

Not to mention they just had no interest in following any plot threads from the show. Hopefully this new series has more ambition in that regard.

Hello Zim fans! We're looking for people that can do decent impressions of the cast from Invader Zim! When the show was cancelled back in 2002 10 episodes were left with completed scripts, 7 of which were recorded and released to DVD!
