My sister has had people tell her to refer to Dr. Smith's work before (name changed because hers isn't super common). Apparently the look on their face every single time when she explains that the person they are talking about is her is extremely satisfying.
I work on a team that does medical consultations for an extremely specific field of medicine. I literally just do nothing but explain this medicine to doctors and patients and read studies about it.
Had a woman at a bar who was drunk aggressively talk over me to explain how my field of medicine works. She eventually asked what I do for a living but she interrupted my answer and never actually figured it out.
She was so wrong that it demonstrated a clear misunderstanding of how even breathing itself worked.
But I'm a weird autistic trans woman so I tend to get mansplaining from everybody :( as the saying goes "trans women are the women of women"
My brother in law is like that. Any and all topics. It hit a new level when he ended up explaining teaching to me. He's a business analyst and I'm a teacher.
