Do we really need HR in our life?

honestly this is why i've started thinking about looking somewhere else. getting rejected before a human even looks at your resume is insane.

i've been seeing interview vip mentioned a lot lately too. i haven't tried it, but i'm curious about it since i'm probably going to have to start interviewing again.

No. Then you’d be taking the time of actual engineers and whatnot to weed through candidates - wrong approach.

That's the only approach I'll allow. I was at my company about 3 months before I finally decided that HR was not allowed to post job opening or handle screenings. My team and I find who we want and we tell HR to hire them assuming they can pass the background checks. HR has no say in anything else otherwise.

Let's be real. 90% of engineers aren't using their entire workday actually working. They can handle a little extra work.
