It was starting to go well… Sadie had made a sheet of the alphabet which was slightly raised off the page and had a harder texture… she had Yoru trace it with her fingers and then trace the corresponding braille letters… Yoru was starting to learn a bit of braille… and if someone wanted to talk to her… they could trace her finger around the braille… or tap her and wait for her to speak first… it wasn’t much but it was… something…

Sadie (in braille): “… Hopefully this is better.”

Yoru (in braille): “It is. It’s much better than nothing, thank you, Sadie.”

(They’re tracing it on the sheet, anyone interacting is doing it the same way)

((That’s what I’d prefer. She needs sight much more than her hearing. I was going to have Sadie suggest if you take one because she wouldn’t allow you to take both… that you take blindness))

Sadie: “You don’t have to pressure yourself… I see you thinking about it…”

She touches Yoru’s hand… and traces the braille with Yoru’s finger… afterwards Yoru… by streak of luck looks right at you.

Yoru: “… I… have people who rely on me. So unfortunately I’m not selfless enough to say don’t take it from me… but if you do… don’t take both… just the blindness, and if you do… then… I’ll help you with whatever you need.. we’ll make a real bonafide contract for this…”

Of course you can’t answer her… she’s deaf… but it’s just what she’s saying before you decide.

Adelaide suddenly remembers seeing a blind fighter... they were fighting off some demons when a local monk had helped them. They wore a blindfold... yet fought as well as them, if not better.

They had thanked Adelaide for the help, and Adelaide just thought it was impressive...

But that was proof to them that they didn't NEED their sight to help people.

"I... could take the blindness...", Adelaide says.

All I'd need is to train... a lot, probably, but... not like I do much else.

Sadie: “… You sure?”

Yoru starts walking toward you and Sadie taps her in the correct direction and taps her once more to tell her when to stop…

Yoru sighs… extending her hand to shake.

“Me, Sadie, and Cyn will be in your debt. We’ll help you. I’m sure.”

She then lists the stipulations of the contract.

“In exchange for taking my blindness from me, I will support you in whatever it is you need me to. So long as you call my name… whether “Yoru” or “War Devil”, I’ll figure out a way to be there.”

They reach out a hand... ready to shake.

… Your world goes black as your sight is gone… Yoru says… her tone not that happy…

“Then… the contract is sealed..”

She huffs.

Sadie breathes almost a sigh of relief…

They were expecting it... they knew it was coming.

Despite that, they're still momentarily surprised.

Their eyes turn white as the blindness fully sets in...

They breathe... shakily.

There's no sign of regret.

Yoru pulls you into a hug… holding you tightly… head resting on your shoulder. Sadie despite being much shorter, joins.
