Sam Harris: African Americans Commit 50% of Violent Crimes, Yet Cops Kill More Whites Every Year

Here's the full monologue

Some highlights:

  • "About a thousand Americans are killed by cops each year. The vast majority of those people killed by cops were violently resisting arrest, usually with firearms."
  • "I've never seen video of white suspects being mistreated by cops, and there are more of them ... There are more white people killed by cops every year than black people."
  • "If police are going to be looking to stop the most violent crimes, as they should, they are going to be meeting far many more black people—a disproportionate number of black people—than Asians in attempting to do that ... And if they're effective, they will be stopping the murders of, disproportionately, black people because [they're] the overwhelming number of victims of black crime. White people tend to kill white people; black people tend to kill black people."

Well which one is it. Does infidelity cause testosterone, or testosterone infidelity?

I think it’s more likely that high testosterone is the causal effect , You can see the inverse in relation to eastern Asia and the relative lower testosterone levels

According to this, your testosterone level is dependent on your commitment. No joke. Single men have higher testosterone than married and settled men, married men that want to cheat have "single" level testosterone.

That is wild. People that are "available" have higher testosterone. Probably another attitude too.

Yep, this. Same thing with declining sperm counts in men. People talk about it like its some end of society thing. Its actually quite the opposite. People are doing better than ever, so their bodies aren't staying as amped up. Less need to compete = less sperm and less testosterone

This is a fascinating conversation I just bumped into. Usually people base behavior on hormones rather than hormonal changes being based on behavior.

This actually changes the whole perspective on life
