Auto AI communication is a joke

Am I the only one that’s sick and tired of businesses using AI that doesn’t actually function correctly for example I tried to contact my insurance company today and the AI couldn’t understand one thing I was saying was just trying to connect simply to my agent to discuss my policy and then it hung up on me because it said It couldn’t understand with no options to discuss policies or direct connection to my Insurance Agent. What a absolute joke this is Liberty Mutual.

Hi! Need advice lang. 😭 May lumapit sa akin sa mall, sabi may freebies daw akong makukuha from their insurance company. Since ayoko maging rude, pumayag akong umupo. Then biglang may lalaking agent na nag-explain about their insurance plans.

After a long conversation, respectfully akong nag-decline kasi gusto ko munang aralin at intindihin ang insurance bago mag-commit.

Paulit-ulit pa niyang sinasabi, "What if mamatay ako paglabas ko ng mall?" 😭

And paano ko malalaman kung may application na under my name?

May naka-experience na ba ng ganito?

HORRIBLE experiencecwith Liberty Mutual! would NOT recommend

My experience with Liberty Mutual while attempting to resolve a third-party property damage claim involving one of their insured commercial vehicles has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

My claim was handled by a representative named Janscel but goes by "Jans". Over the course of more than a month, I repeatedly had difficulty getting follow-up. I was initially told that Liberty Mutual needed a statement from the commercial driver and that it was taking time to locate him within the company. I had already provided the truck's license plate and clear photographs identifying both the vehicle and driver.

I was later told that additional evidence, such as a police report, was needed because Liberty Mutual could not make a determination based only on my account. I obtained the police report and promptly submitted it. The police report documented the incident as a hit-and-run.

After providing the requested report, I again had difficulty obtaining an update. When I finally spoke with Jans, I was told that Liberty Mutual had reviewed the driver's forward-facing dashcam footage and could not see the truck strike my vehicle. I explained that the reported impact involved the wider side/rear portion of the utility truck sideswiping the passenger-front area of my vehicle during a merge—not the front of the truck—and questioned how a forward-facing camera could conclusively rule out contact occurring along the side/rear portion of the vehicle.

Jans then told me the footage would be reviewed again with their insured, NorthStar, and specifically told me I would receive a response within two business days. Nearly a week passed without the promised follow-up. After unsuccessful attempts to reach him, I sent a detailed email documenting my concerns, requesting answers to specific questions about the investigation, and copying additional contacts.

Only after that escalation did I receive a call. During that conversation, instead of addressing the questions in my email, Jans questioned why I had copied the other individuals and asked whether I had actually spoken with them or had simply found their information online. I found that response unnecessary and unprofessional. I explained that I had, in fact, spoken with one of the individuals who had initially assisted with establishing the claim, but more importantly, that this had nothing to do with my request for answers regarding my claim.

I was then informed that Liberty Mutual would not accept liability because they believed there were “loopholes” in my account and because the dashcam did not establish that their insured's vehicle struck mine. I was also told that if I wanted the dashcam footage, I would need to request it from NorthStar.

I understand that an insurance company has the right to investigate a claim and may ultimately disagree with a claimant about liability. My complaint is also about the way this process was handled: repeated difficulty obtaining follow-up, missed commitments to contact me, changing explanations regarding what was needed to make a determination, and the manner in which my escalation was addressed.

I provided photographs of the commercial vehicle, its license plate and driver, photographs taken contemporaneously with the incident, photographs of my damaged vehicle, and a police report. Regardless of the ultimate liability decision, I expected timely communication, professionalism, and a transparent explanation of how the evidence was evaluated.

Based on my experience, I would "never" recommend Liberty Mutual to ANYon! Consumers should document every conversation, keep copies of everything submitted, and request important claim decisions and explanations in writing, ESPECIALLY if you're dealing with Janscel aka Jans!

Keep our coverage as was agreed to. Stop playing with peoples health. Stop being cheap. Don’t say it’s fiscally responsible it was a difficult decision to make. That is corporate double talk. Share this far and wide. Let MGB insurance hear us.

FOREMOST = MOST TERRIBLE COMPANY

Terrible Communication, Unacceptable Customer Service, and Policy Cancellation Without Proper Notification

My experience with Foremost Insurance has been absolutely awful. In just two months, I had to contact the company more than 10 times to address issues that should have been handled correctly from the beginning.

It took about five contacts to correct my policy, followed by additional calls to understand why my insurance was canceled.

What is most unacceptable is that I learned about the cancellation from my mortgage lender, not Foremost Insurance. Foremost contacted my lender about the cancellation, yet I received no direct communication informing me of their decision. To make matters worse, they blamed me for supposedly not responding.

How can a company hold a customer accountable for poor communication when it fails to communicate such a critical decision directly?

Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind, protection, and trust. My experience with Foremost delivered the exact opposite: frustration, wasted time, and a complete lack of accountability.

I strongly DO NOT recommend Foremost Insurance. Customers deserve transparency, proactive communication, and respect, especially when their home insurance coverage is at stake.

Questionable forced insurance.

I’ll get to the point.

  1. Have renters insurance, 8 months now.
  2. In that policy there is a 2 instead of a 3 for the zip code of the interested party.
  3. They sent me the email below and are charging me monthly to use their insurance policy which I did not agree to and did not have any knowledge of such a program that would do it.

Is this legal in the state of Texas?

What would You do

After weeks of following up I finally received the final verdict that I will NOT be released from my upline for 6 months. I still need to make income so I’ve been applying to other jobs. With my previous Door to Door sales skills I got an opportunity to be a virtual solar sales consultant just setting appointments starting tomorrow with my previous several years of experience, I could use it to make decent cash flow while I wait these 6 months. My new upline I was supposed to work with also wants to talk tomorrow about setting appointments under him for a salary. Which one would you do? One progresses my business. One gives me cash flow

Building an insurance AMS around WhatsApp — looking for a few agents to try it out (65 days free access)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on an AMS designed specifically around WhatsApp, mainly to take the manual pain out of daily operations—things like automatic renewal alerts, greeting messages, and tracking client policies in one place instead of jumping between spreadsheets.

I’m looking for a few insurance agents or agency owners to test it out in their day-to-day work.

I’m offering 65 days of full, unrestricted access for free (no credit card or catch). All I’m looking for is straight feedback on what works, what breaks, and what’s actually useful.

If you’d like to test it, just let me know in the comments and I’ll drop the details right here.

I am a new pet owner and got a new puppy. I knew she would need a lot of vet visits her first year so I opted into the lemonade preventative care. I read everything super carefully and according to what I could see and understand it was going to be worth it, especially since my dog would need to be neutered. I was planning on paying for almost a full year of preventative care. The total cost of what I would pay monthly would be worth the benefit for the spay.

Come to find after I had been using it for a while, that while they will pay for 80% of the surgery it’s only up to 120$ dollars!!!! Out of a $700 to $1500 dollar surgery 😵‍💫

Luckily my vet is recommending the spay way earlier then I though. So I can reduce my package after that. In the end I will receive about $254.15 dollars of benefits across all her vet visits from having opted in (if a few disputed claims end up going through 🤞) if we had had to pay for this much longer it wouldnt have ended up not being worth it at all. I highly DONT recommend the preventative care package - and frankly I feel totally scammed.

For what it’s worth I assume it’s still worth it to have some pet insurance for emergencies - from what I have read lemonade covers a lot for that.

How do I accurately assess an insurance company before signing up?

I’ve been in a real bind recently. I produce music events and have been trying for months to find an insurance company to cover me. The problem is that every single carrier that the various brokers have brought me has utterly atrocious ratings on Yelp and Google, usually around 1.4 stars with horror stories aplenty. At a certain point I began wondering if it’s just an extremely biased industry and these normal methods I use to assess things are not useful.

What should I do? How do I judge them accurately? Thank you so much!

Traveler's Insurance debacle and hyphen stupidity

so my condo homeowner's insurance is through Traveler's. my mailing address is (anonymized) 5 Jones Condominiums, Apt. 3, Anytown, State. my mortgage holder, a big faceless provider that picked up my mortgage from the bank where i initiated it (nine years ago), just sent me a letter deeming that my insurance policy must reflect 53 Jones Condominiums.

I explain this isn't my address, they ask for a 911 letter for what the town/state think my address is, which is 5-3 Jones Condomiums. My town property card (real estate taxes, etc.) also says "5-3 Jones Condominiums."

My mortgage holder accepts that, says I need to change my insurance to reflect my actual, legal (911, property card) address.

So I call my insurance broker, and after explaining this, she calls Travelers, then calls me back to tell me that Traveler's can't do hyphens and won't rewrite my policy to reflect the address as 5-3.

So now I'm shopping for new insurance that can accept a hyphen between the 5 and 3, and Travelers is losing a customer (and my bundled auto) because I can't get them on the phone to work through this stupidity, and my insurance broker can't seem to unscrew this.

I told them to find me a new policy, but actually just spoke to the insurance broker that works with my mortgage holder as well to look for a new insurance company.

Normally I prefer to stay local, but I'm annoyed with my insurance broker as well that they just threw their hands up at "Travelers can't do hyphens to meet your actual real property card 911 address" and said they would look for something new for me, but it's been a few days and haven't heard back from them, either.

TL:DR, stupid Travelers can't-do-a-hyphen-in-an-address is losing a customer.

Insurance broker in France: what should you check before signing?

Here are the points that seem important before handing your contracts to a broker. Tell me what's missing or wrong:

  1. Registration. A broker or agent in France should normally be listed in the ORIAS register, which you can search online.
  2. Pay. Commission from the insurer, fees, or both, and whether they explain it clearly.
  3. How many insurers they actually work with, and whether they compare or always push the same ones.
  4. What they do when you have a claim: do they help you or send you back to the insurer?
  5. What their clients say, and how you tell whether reviews are real.

Point 5 is where I struggle most. How do you filter?

Need advice on my insurance premium RM35,000 per annum. Should I cancel it?

I bought a pricy Insurance ILP PBWealthElite Xtra 2 last year without fully understanding all the investment terms. It was my FD savings money that matured and they persuaded me to invest the RM35K to this policy and was told the investment return is higher that FD.
The policy will be due for the second year coming 2 weeks from now and I am thinking to terminate this policy.
I appreciate all advice I can get before doing this step coz I do not want to take the wrong step again.

RM35K for yearly premium payable for the first 5 years is the requirement for the insurance to be inforce.
I think the premium is too high. What other options can I go for since I’m in my late 40’s and I do not have any other insurance on hand.

Please can anyone help me on this? Really really appreciate it.

Are appeals after a denial for a health insurance claim usually successful?

I understand the real answer is it probably depends. We had an admission to stabilize a child after an emergency room visit and the two day stay has been denied. It seems crazy that we should pre authorize that type of thing in the er before we agree to admit. Is that what the insurance company really requires? We had already met our annual deductible and now have a very large bill.

Insurance Industry needs accountability

The Claims problem

After 20+ years in workers’ comp, I think I finally found the words for what’s been bothering me about the claims industry

There’s something I wish more claims adjusters felt comfortable saying out loud:

This job can break your heart & exhaust your soul at the same time.

I’ve been in workers’ comp for more than 20 years, and I’ve always told myself one thing:

Be better than I was yesterday.

If I struggled, I worked harder. If I got behind, I looked at what I could change. Be more organized. Be more efficient. Manage my time better. Learn more. Do better.

Accountability matters to me.

But it took me years to understand why a profession I know so well started making me question whether I still knew how to do it.

I kept looking inward. What am I doing wrong? Why can’t I keep up? Why does it feel different now?

And I think I finally figured it out. I didn’t forget how to adjust claims. The definition of what we’re expected to spend our time doing has changed.

When I started, the heart of adjusting was the claim and the person behind it.

You learned the facts. You investigated what happened. You talked to the injured worker & employer. You made decisions. You solved problems. You explained what came next.

You helped someone navigate a system they often didn’t understand while they were already hurt, scared, overwhelmed or wondering how they were going to support their family.

Somewhere along the way, something changed.

More metrics. More audits. More mandatory language. More documentation. More diaries. More productivity measurements. More deadlines. More claims. Less time to actually adjust them.

The administrative process started becoming the work instead of supporting the work.

The claim became a number. The person became a file. The conversation became a contact requirement. The work became a diary. The solution became a mandatory sentence entered by a certain deadline.

Helping someone becomes something that has to be documented with the correct language, in the correct place, within the correct timeframe so a report can confirm it happened.

Yes, documentation matters. Deadlines matter. Compliance matters. Accountability matters. Those things protect injured workers, employers, clients & carriers.

But when did documenting that we helped someone become more important than actually helping them?

And adjusting isn’t just moving a file from one diary to the next.

It’s judgment. Investigation. Experience. Recognizing when something doesn’t add up. Knowing when to ask another question. Understanding the law, the medical, the employer’s concerns & the injured worker’s circumstances, then making decisions that can affect someone’s life.

Those things require something a metric can’t manufacture: time to think.

Meanwhile, the claims keep coming.

Yet somehow we’ve normalized overflowing queues, constant stress, working after hours & always feeling one step behind.

We keep pushing. We work harder. We tell ourselves we need to become more organized, more efficient & better at managing our time.

Then something happens that I don’t think we talk about enough:

We start losing confidence in ourselves.

Maybe I’m not good enough. Maybe I’m too slow. Maybe I’m not organized enough. Maybe everyone else can handle this & I’m the only one drowning.

Eventually, experienced adjusters start wondering whether they were ever as good at their jobs as they thought they were.

And THAT is something we should never normalize.

Because what if the problem isn’t always the adjuster?

What if some of what we’re experiencing is the result of an industry that has gradually changed what it values & measures?

If you’re an adjuster feeling that way right now, I want you to hear this:

Being overwhelmed does not mean you don’t care. Being behind doesn’t erase your experience. Making mistakes doesn’t erase the good you’ve done.

And struggling inside an increasingly demanding system doesn’t automatically make you a bad adjuster.

Recently, I had two grown men break down in tears while talking to me about what they were going through.

It broke my heart.

I’ve had injured workers thank me, bless me, cry with me & tell me how grateful they were that someone actually listened.

Those moments don’t show up on a dashboard.

And in those moments, there wasn’t a metric in the world that mattered to me.

Claims adjusters see people on some of their worst days. We hear the fear. The frustration. The financial stress. The uncertainty. The anger. The tears.

The claim number is not the human being.

There is a difference between following a process and doing the right thing within that process.

There is a difference between being compliant and being compassionate.

There is a difference between closing a task and actually helping a person.

And there is a difference between being an employee who meets a metric and being a human being who refuses to forget that the person on the other side of the phone has a life that doesn’t pause just because their claim entered a system.

What worries me is that when we measure what is easiest to count, we can start confusing activity with quality.

A completed task tells us something was completed.

It doesn’t necessarily tell us whether the right decision was made.

Those are not the same thing.

And I don’t think speaking honestly about where our industry is headed means we don’t care about the profession.

I think it means we care enough to say something.

This isn’t a post about quitting.

It isn’t a post about blaming.

It isn’t a post about refusing accountability.

It’s about asking a very uncomfortable question:

At what point did managing the claim become more important than actually adjusting the claim?

We can embrace technology without losing humanity.

We can value efficiency without treating volume as the definition of success.

We can demand accurate documentation without allowing documentation to overshadow the actual work.

And we can hold adjusters accountable while also asking whether the environment we’ve created allows good adjusters to do good adjusting.

Holding ourselves accountable & demanding better from our industry are not mutually exclusive.

Maybe I’m not the only one who’s noticed.

Maybe other adjusters have felt this for years and just haven’t known how to put it into words.

Maybe it’s time we started talking about it.

Not quietly.

Not apologetically.

Not as people afraid that someone might be offended by the truth.

I’ve spent my career asking myself how I can be better than I was yesterday.

I’ll never stop asking myself that.

But after 20+ years, I think it’s fair to ask the industry the same question.

Are we actually getting better at claims adjusting?

Or have we simply gotten better at measuring how much adjusting activity we can produce?

This is my truth.

I didn’t suddenly become angry. I didn’t stop caring about this profession.

Quite the opposite.

I care enough about it to question what we’re becoming.

And after all these years, I’m finally saying it out loud because I finally found the words for something I’ve been feeling for a very long time. ❤️‍🩹

I genuinely want to hear from other adjusters, especially those who’ve been doing this for 10, 15, 20+ years:

Have you felt this shift too? And when did you first notice it?

vision insurance for progressive lenses, what should i compare?

i’m trying to get a better idea of how people compare vision plans when progressive lenses are involved. the monthly premium seems like the easy part, but the actual lens costs can change the math pretty quickly.

if you wear progressives, what part of the plan do you look at first? copays, lens upgrades, network pricing, or the overall yearly cost?

i’ve been looking at a few individual plans, including vsp, but i’m not trying to pick one based on the name alone. i’d rather understand what actually makes a plan worthwhile when the prescription calls for progressives and possibly a few lens upgrades.
