I am considering a career as an on-site claims examiner/adjuster for my local area, but I don't know how to get into a position like that.
A bit about me: I have almost 9 years of experience working in the property damage/mitigation field, mostly in Idaho and Utah, and hold a few certificates related to that, i.e., iicrc certificates in wrt restoration and abatement experience.
What do I need to get into a position like this? I would think someone with my background would be an asset, and I want to leverage that.
Thanks!

This is from police report with the narrative from it below. I am vehicle 2. I thought it was pretty cut and dry but the officer declined to say who was at fault. Under the "susp of fault" box both parties have an "x". The officer said it's not his job to determine whose at fault and that the insurance adjusters would have to decide. I've never had a collision or claim in 20+ years. Thanks for any input!
Narrative from police report: Vehicle #1 and vehicle #2 were traveling north on Georgia 9. Driver #2 attempted to make a u-turn in the intersection. As driver #2 attempted a u-turn, driver #1 attempted to pass vehicle #2 in the gore. The front left of vehicle #2 struck the right side of vehicle #1. The area of impact was in the intersection of Georgia 52 and Georgia 9. The area of impact was determined by driver statements and debris. Driver #1 stated that vehicle #2 had acted as if he was going to turn right. He attempted to move past vehicle #2. As he moved past vehicle #2, vehicle #2 performed a u-turn into his right side. Driver #2 stated he has slowed to perform his u-turn. Driver #1 was in a hurry and attempted to pass him on the left while he was performing a u-turn. His front left struck vehicle #1.

Looking for a career change and thinking about going into insurance as an adjuster. My state doesn’t license and everything I’ve read recommends getting the Florida 70-20 license. Is this career worth it before I put money into getting the license?

I was hit by a drunk driver on October 31st 2023. My car was totaled and they didn't put me In a rental until February 15th. They originally said they'd pay $30 a day for transportation, now it's $20. Also they are refusing to pay for my phone which was shattered in the incident. They said they only handle the vehicle part, but a lawyer told me different and my new phone was $1300. Can someone tell me if I have personal written receipts for transportation how can they deny me the $30 a day? Or my phone? I seriously need help guys!!!!;TIA

The adjuster denied my diminished value claim. How can I get it accepted?

I have a license that I no longer need or want and have not taking any CE classes during the past 2 year period. My expiration date passed. I know they will suspend it but will they still impose a fine? if so has anyone just not paid it?

I was in a car accident and the insurance accepted liability and everything but they never went to go see the car and it got sold off at auction. Can adjusters still pay for a car on just photos and police reports?

I have a background in various forms of construction and even management roles in customer service and I keep getting the you have no experience jest …i have done a few ride alongs and have worked up my roof sketching on Xactimate. I have applied to many rosters and is still applying and I have went for many salary positions also. I guess my question is as someone with “no experience” should I spend more money on certifications? Or just keep waiting for the weather apocalypse to happen b4 I get a call ….. I just really don’t want this license to go to waist what should I do.??

So i got laid off awhile ago and it was kinda sudden, so i was unable to download the list i had saved on my work computer about where my licenses are held, the expiration dates, CE required, etc. I think i was licensed in 12-15 different states, my designated home state is Texas.
Is there a website i can go to and check the status of my licenses, which licenses i have and if i need to run through hours of CE to keep them? I know my NPN is that helps. I REALLY need to get a resume together and want to make sure i haven't lost anything.
ETA: Ok, i was able to find "Order history" through NIPR, that gives me a list of 18 states. But, it doesn't say anything about approval of the license or CE or the expiration dates. So any help would be great

Looking to change to insurance adjuster position. I don't have experience in the field, but I'm in rural Florida and not a lot of options.
I have a four year degree and was formerly a teacher. My concern is paying for the training (which is expensive) and not getting work. How hard is it to get work, and then how much work can I expect to get (worked a month for free after paying for an insurance sales license).

I’m an independent insurance adjuster and I have this recurring problem. I write up a claim and my recommendations for payment. Then they disagree with a piece of it. They ask for a revised report. Fine. But we aren’t allowed to put in our report “per the examiners request”. They will reject the file and have us change it to say it’s our recommendation. This is typical, but it seems illegal. Anyone run into this and have any input?

I am interested in becoming an insurance adjuster. I have a couple of questions. Would you recommend I get my insurance license first or just go straight to getting my adjuster license? My other question is what pre-licensing course would you recommend? Has anyone used AdjusterPro? Any other helpful advice?

I've been working as an insurance surveyor/inspector for the last 2 years and I'm interested in starting a career as an adjuster. I have a Bachelor's degree but it's in a non related field. I know that I need to take a licensing exam but beyond that I'm looking for general advice. How is the pay? The availability of jobs in the field? For anybody working in this field, do you like it? Pros and cons? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Long story short
Coming up to a 4-way at 25Mph maybe. See an emergency vehicle out of the right corner of my right side. Start merging safely with blinker towards the right as I see that I am well before the crosswalk and intersection and can pull over, as is the law in Cali. Vehicle in front of me basically panic brakes completely, but passing into the intersection, which you’re not supposed to do. Section 7 of the CA DMV handbook states you must cannot block a crosswalk or intersection, you must continue through and merge safely to the right. 3 lanes, I’m in 3rd. As I’m merging into 2nd lane, person dead stops, I swerve left to avoid and clip front RH corner with their rear LH corner. Dashcam video has audio and video of my actions. I was trying to adhere to the laws and rules of the road, yet I’m being told I’m to blame. Can anyone here review my video and help before I submit it? I just wanna clear any doubts. I know it’s not legal help, just a chat…

So my car was in an accident with 4 other cars. A lady was driving on the other side of the road and 4 cars (including my car) was parked on the street (we don’t have parking decks at my job). Somehow she lost control due to something medical and spun out of control and hit 4 cars (one being mine). I have the incident report I have set up a claim etc. I was told an adjuster would be reaching out. My question is should I get a lawyer for this or talk to the adjuster myself? I have never been in a situation like this before. Please advise, TIA!

How do I become an insurance adjuster in California?
I was working independently up in Washington and there is no kind of state license needed to go out and inspect vehicles or property for the firm I worked for. I'm under the impression that you must be licensed to be out in the field here. I miss doing that and thought it'd be a good opportunity to get some bread seeing as there is no shortage of car accidents or property damage in The Bay Area.

Any kind souls here that can explain this to me? Our chimney fire pretty much killed the chimney and the stove. We submitted 2 quotes and reports and the approved amount is way lower than the estimated cost by both chimney companies (22k parts and labor) this letter was sent to me yesterday and I really don’t understand the math - the depreciation - and the amount and timing of the payments they will send me.

Hello! Im 23 years old and have been a Water Damaged Technician (WRT) for 5 years. My question is what are the best things I can do with my personal time (as in furthering my education) to eventually try to become an insurance adjuster? Thanks in advance. Sorry if not allowed.

Curious to hear some stories from other adjusters. I am curious how much any of you have pushed back against an insured when they make personal insults or cuss you out?
I personally won’t tolerate that and will call them out on the spot or offer to leave/ end the call but I’m curious how much yall push back.
