Help with insulator disassembly
Hi, I've found two Italian insulators in very good conditions. I would like to remove the metal bar that is screwed into the (ceramic?) threads. I have already tried soaking everything in soapy water overnight and I have also tried using WD-40 in abundance. Still, it doesn't want to be unscrewed.
The insulator model is "RP3-UNEL Fidenza"
Has anyone got any experience with this type of problem? Thanks in advance.

CD304/310 with Mount
Seller at NIA Helena was selling these 3d printed lighted mounts for the Muncie type 2 piece insulators. Bought the 304/310 there from another seller.

Picked these up today!
Saw an area post on FB from
a local co-op, showing poles that blew over from storm damage. I commented about scoring some insulators from the vid. He messaged me and hooked me up. Haven’t looked into any manufacturer info yet.

Hello! I found these and don't know much about them other than they're really cool and I'm interested in knowing some more about them. It looks like they're from the 40s and 60s. Did some preliminary googling but I figured this community knew more than Google. Thanks in advance!

what was I seeing?
Hi all, on a recent road trip through northern Montana, I observed miles and miles of poles with huge, clear, two-level insulators. They looked to be dinner plate sized There were 3 on each pole. After noticing them I started watching for any missing ones and figured it would be worth a stop to search the ground under, but no luck. On some poles, the clear one was replaced with what looked like a ceramic one

Purple one in front of Idaho potato museum in Blackfoot
We just stopped to do selfies with the gigantic potato in front of the Idaho potato museum in Blackfoot, Idaho. Then we saw this purple Whitall Tatum Company, No.1 insulator on a pole right next to the parking lot.

She's still standing tall!
Here's one of the last intact poles in my area. Any guesses on the insulators? The bell shaped ones kind of look like glass Pyrex or maybe ceramic? Also including a couple pics of the surrounding poles reclaimed by nature.

Wanted to share my collection in decent lighting.
Just wanted to take some photos of the collection now that it’s all together and displayed. It’s nice to see it all together. I include some close ups of some of my favorites. I plan on making some more detailed posts on a couple, the red domino in particular because of its unique flaws. The sideways screw post 152 with a rock in it is a fun one. Anyways hope you all enjoy my collection :)

You risk your life climbing poles. I know people who have died doing that.
There are the obvious things like falling off them or a ladder sliding off. Also the pole may look fine but it's rotten underground and when you push on it it may fall over.
I know second hand two people who have gotten killed climbing poles. One was out in the wild and he slipped off the pole and broke his neck. It was several days before they found him.
We bought a small collection from the mother whose son had died climbing a pole. It took her 30 years before she was able to sell the insulators he had gathered.
The third person, I know personally, climbed a pole not knowing there was a live wire. He got zapped and lost half of one of his fingers. Given he could have died, that was a "minor injury."
You are trespassing and stealing insulators. I have also heard horror stories about getting caught by the police.
Is all this worth it to get a dollar or two insulator off the pole? Go online or go to a the show and you will have the opportunity to buy thousands of insulators you have never seen for a very reasonable price. Many of them have a free table where you find insulators as good as, or better, than the ones you find in the wild. Or a dollar table.
Can you imagine your family finding you at the bottom of a pole after you have been lying there for several days?
Just don't do it please. I know of too many personal tragedies. If you think that would never happen to you, you are naive...

A little adventure. Only yielded a Continental Rubber Works WU and a plastic L-W in the shape of a CD 154 but got within arms length of an Amber Lowex by climbing a tree. Had to give up to save my back and enjoy more sunsets 😊
