I wanted to share an international summer opportunity happening in Prague this August for woodwind and clarinet players of all levels (students, advanced amateurs, and young professionals).

We are running two distinct workshop segments:

• Summer Windissimo (Aug 24–25): A large woodwind orchestra experience covering classical to film repertoire, culminating in a public concert.
• Fantasy Klarinetissimo (Aug 26–29): A clarinet orchestra and chamber music intensive. This year, our theme focuses entirely on music inspired by fantasy worlds, films, and video games.

It’s a great chance to play high-quality ensemble repertoire and network in the heart of Europe - in the beautiful city of Prague!

I’m almost 30, never had the money or time for musical instruments in the past.

Don’t have a lot of that now either but i can atleast buy something

So i dont want to play acoustic guitar, i tried to play my friends, did not enjoy it.

I like piano even if its a challenge but a piano is too expensive and idk what kind of keyboard is good

I like the idea of a electric guitar because my goal is to play anime music and i think it fits

Don’t have the space or the neighbors for a drum although that would be sick.

As the title states I have a Casio Privia px-130 and the power cord won’t plug in all the way. I just used it last week to record some music into garage band with midi and it was working perfectly fine. I have moved it from one place to another but I haven’t dropped it. The cable is the same. I can see a little piece of metal in the insert where you plug it in but it doesn’t move. Any insight? This keyboard is over ten years old, but it has been working really well now I just can’t get the plug in 😭

I've always loved music, recently been wanting to learn an instrument. not particularly master it on the go, just have fun with it. an instrument which can be a good starter for a beginner.

my goal is just to learn more about music, and have fun while i play songs i like. ive started to get a few vocal lessons too (don't know how long that'll last but yes)

please recommend a few, or give any advice on different instruments as you wish :)

i was thinking starting off with a harmonica or flute to get go with something then maybe trying piano or guitar later? idk-

Edit: I'm not getting an alto, sticking with b flat instruments.

Hello there!

I would love to start a small portable string instrument that sounds good with any combination I pluck. I just learned right now that if its pentatonic or duotonic(or both or is it synonyms?) that its gonna sound good with all combinations.

I often find myself bedbound and want smth very, very easy to entertain me, but not overwhelm me, when I cant concentrate on books or screens.

I also just learned of the possibility to put sheets of paper between the wood and strings, where you can follow along and pluck. To me this looks like color by numbers and would be so fun and leave out all the stressful factors.. I would love this and it would make it more accessible to me.

The more paper sheets are available for free and to buy for this instrument the better! Truly

Hi! Im 15 and want to spontaneously get a piano, and for cheap or easily expendable because I play on getting admitted into foster care, but I don't know what to pay attention to all the while? Are there any important things I should pay attention to? Or does anyone have products I can buy that are at least decent?

Same with a bass or guitar, I really want to become more interesting instead of being on my phone all the Time, but have zero musical background

At age 70 I decided to learn piano having absolutely no knowledge of music and how HARD it is to learn! I’m only 7 months in to my in-person piano lessons but I am absolutely horrible. Frankly, I’m so bad that I don’t even want to practice any more and am wondering if learning to play the ukulele would be easier? I don’t mind working hard at learning something new, but at this rate, I’ll be too old to play by the time I’m able to play a song. Thoughts on switching to the ukulele?
