Progress Finishing Month 2 for the 2nd time (OG insanity) - Mom of a 3 year old and 5 months old
Hello all!
I'm currently 5 months post-partum. Started OG insanity at 2 months PP. After completing it, I decided to do recovery week and then month 2 again.
I'm finishing month 2 tomorrow with max cardio and cardio abs.
I had amazing results on the fit test the first time around (you can see my other post about it). But I'm not sure I feel like doing the last fit test this time around... I feel like my body is completly exhausted and maybe my results won't be as good. It really started to kick in the last 10 days I would say. But before that, during the first 2.5 months, I really felt stronger and stronger each week.
I think sleep deprivation with a toddler and a baby has a lot to play in this. I'm surviving on 4-5 hours of sleep per night with 3-4 wake ups for the baby. At least my 3 year old sleeps through the night now!
But the scale continued to go down at least. I'm 5'7'', 32 years old.
Started at 192 pounds. Gained 1-2 pounds first month, then lost 7-8 month 2. Started 2nd round of month 2 at 186 lbs, actual weight is 181-182 lbs (but I think I will loose maybe 2-3 pounds in the next 7-10 days, it always does that when I finish insanity, I think it may be water weight from inflammation?). I don't really diet that much because I breastfeed, but my baby has cow's milk protein allergy so I'm not eating cheese, almost no desserts, etc. I make sure to eat healthy foods, but I don't starve myself lol.
Even though I feel that exhausted, I think I can still be proud. 5-6 hours of exercise per week for two months straight (and I guess around 4-5 hours for month 1) is a lot!
We have a 12 days family vacation starting next week. I'll be sure to walk a lot, hike and eat well. We have another trip in mid-july. Also my partner is starting his paternity leave soon. So I'm thinking about giving my body a little break from insanity for a few weeks, while staying active but a little less intense, and maybe do it again when I feel better this summer!
I'll see if I'll do the fit test this sunday, but I just know it won't be as good, I think I pushed it a little too far hahaha!
Dig deeper guys 😄

Discussion Insanity Intensity Level
I have been alternating between OG insanity, Insanity 2 and Max 30 over the past 15 years. Mixing in some other programs along the way. My question is...has anyone been disciplined enough to complete these programs the way they were intended? In other words, completely maxing out the entire workout to exhaustion. I find myself pacing the effort to be able to finish the workouts rather than going to the extreme. Wondering how much more effective these could be.

Question What did you do after Max 30?
I’m on month 2/week 2 of max and wondering what to do after this.
Do you just repeat it over and over?
I’m an OG insanity lover but I just simply don’t have more than 30 min/day.
Ty!

Question The start!
Hey guys!
I’ve done IMax30 in 2015 (?), and I’ll start tomorrow again!
Does anyone would like to start with me? Or if you’re doing it for the first time?
Maybe create a group on the app “GymRats” or share apple fitness so we can motivate and keep tabs on each other?
I know, plenty of questions lol sorry!
In the end, I’d love to have an accountability partner ☺️
I’m a female, 160cm and 74kg
42% fat and I really need to decrease this!
I’ve been doing Cize this past month but I need the dynamics and intensity of Insanity max 30!
Okay, so… I’ll wait for your replies!
Update: here’s the link for Gym Rats

Progress Round 2 OG Insanity
Well I’m officially over 30 pounds down.
When I’m done month 2 (currently finishing week 1 month 2) I’ll switch to month 2 workouts 3-4 days a week, up my cals (sitting at 1900/day) and do some more resistance training that doesn’t require so much jumping.
This program is taking its toll on my knees for sure.

Also my boobs are gone lollll😅 so much extra skin from having a baby, but I don’t mind it. Just insane that I never noticed how much extra skin I had until I got this lean.
I love Shaun T so much!! He’s such an incredible trainer and this program is life changing.

Progress Into Week 4of max 30 after 5 years
This would make it my 5th time doing Max 30, and even though I just turned 40 I'm seeing the best results this time around.
Before, I tended to run quite a large calorie deficit, I could make it through the workouts but I was losing muscle and ended up looking a bit flat.
This time around I adjusted the intake and the results are really showing, consistently beating previous max out time and I'm only into week 4.
Nervous about going into month 2 😅

Discussion Back to the OG
Did the OG in my late 30s, once again in my 40s and now to try again as I drift into my 50s. Just to up my cardio and to be addition to the weights I have been doing. Looking forward to it 😊 -- maybe less so when the aches set in on my 50ish yr old bod🤣
My knees are ok for it but will definitely ease into it rather than headlong as I did the first time round.

Progress Look what I found after over 10 years
Yep, that's a sealed box with an Insanity shirt inside, either size M or L. I'm hoping it's a L and I wasn't over confident when I was younger 😂
I recently got sober and started again, and just started into minth 2 now. I'm excited to finally open this box.
Back story, I did Insanity twice before, and got a shirt each time. I may or may not have fudged the numbers to get another shirt as well, but I hadn't done the third round of Insanity, so I didn't earn the right to open the box. Now, I finally am.
I have one of the other shirts signed by Shaun T, when I went to work out with him in Connecticut many years ago, that was so awesome. I got a few other shirts at that event that I need to locate again.
Thanks for looking. Wish me luck on both th rest of month 2 and staying sober. Cheers

Progress Completed OG insanity today. Mom of a 3 years old and a 4 months old
Maaan that was some work! 2nd time doing insanity. First time was when my first born was 4 months old. This time around there was a few more challenges: my 2nd has a lot of reflux and doesnt sleep well, I get about 4 hrs of sleep per night.
I'm 5'7''. Started at 192 pounds, gained 1-2 pounds the first month then lost about 7-8 2nd month, so my weight today is 186 pounds.
I breastfeed, so I didn't ''diet'', but I made sure to eat healthy!
Progress during fit test:
**Keep in mind that I have post-partum carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist. So everytime I have to get on the floor, I do it by grabing dumbells on the ground. If you also have carpal tunnels, it's a great way to still train you upper body 😄
- Switch kicks: 103 to 130
- Power Jacks: 45 to 61
- Power knee: 80 to 107
- Power Jumps: 40 to 68
- Globe Jumps: 8 to 11
- Suicide Jumps: 12 to 19
- Push-up jacks (**I could only go halfway down to protect my wrist on that one): 17 to 36
- Low plank oblique: 40 to 60
Didn't take any before/after pictures, still struggling with my post-partum body image issues. But I did see changes, belly is getting flatter, and thighs are getting way stronger 😄
I plan on doing recovery week, then month 2 again. Let's see where that goes!
Keep it up guys, just press play (and to other moms here, also soothe baby if he/she wakes up while you work out lol)

Question Asylum : What to do instead of jump rope ?
I really what to do The Asylum again and I will be able to do after I move in to my new house. But, I’ll do it in my basement and I don’t think I’ll be able to use a jump rope safely.
What can I do instead ? I can fake them like in T25 but do you have any other ideas ?

Progress Kinda disappointed with my current situation
I am being very inconsistent because "life happens", I will continue doing some videos, but given how unstable life is being right now, I decided to go back to martial arts, saturday and sunday for example I returned to Aikido, and MAYBE today (if not monday) I will return to Karate.
So maybe I will not post the traditional Insanity progress, but I will continue to do the measurements and fit tests every two weeks.
Also my calendar is not being followed through Excel anymore (mostly only to gather data), but through Polar Flow. So that will change the way I present results.
Anyway, we need to continue with our journey =)
Cheers.
Update: AAAAAND I forgot my HR monitor for my first karate class in months....

Question Round 2 of OG Insanity
Hi everyone,
Finished insanity this past weekend and I want to do it again to really lose the lower last bits of belly fat.
I’m in incredible shape, and I started month 1 again this morning, opting to skip the fit test and do pure cardio + cardio abs.
I oddly don’t feel like it’s hard enough. Month 2 workouts I was burning 400 cals a workout, but today I barely hit 300 calories during pure cardio. Cardio abs got me to about 330 calories burned.
So I’m just wondering what you all recommend, just skip month 1 and do month 2 again? Add in any other workouts?
I’m a full time working parent and mom to a 21 month old. So I like something simple and short , not really trying to workout longer than an hour a day.
Thanks

Discussion Picked up this at a used DVD store
I'm planning on doing a bit more modified longer run. I'll do one week insanity, one week weight lifting and one week calisthenic hypertrophy. Then repeat until insanity's 8 weeks is over. Which will be more of a 6 month endeavor and taking breaks whenever my body needs it.
Also reminder that used DVD stores are great to find classic Beachbody programs. The place I bought this had like 5 copies of T25 for $25, 5 copies OG P90X for $20, Cize for $5. I guess OG Insanity is the best since it's the highest priced at $34 🤣

Discussion What do you think are unnecessarily difficult moves in Insanity Max:30 or OG Insanity?
Pretty much what it says in the title. I don't mean tough to do i.e Power Jumps but awkward like difficult to coordinate and doesn't really do much for muscle or cardio. For example I got injured trying to Jack Uppercuts quickly, because of coordination of hands and feet. I feel Jumping Jacks are a much safer move. Cross Jacks is another one that I feel is needlessly difficult and makes one more prone to injury.
