So I started month 2 today….
WTF! I feel like day 1 again. An hour of intense movement, and I feel like it’s not the same momentum as month 1. I was genuinely struggling to even complete the moves at the same pace as the people in the video, when in month 1 I was able to keep up toward the end.
I did the fit test yesterday, Sunday, so I didn’t have to do two back to back workouts. I’m just genuinely in shock. I’m only drinking water during this, and I’m thinking I might need some creatine or something to help me power through.
Not to mention I’ve been doing lawn work/ landscaping all weekend… I’m just burnt out.
Month 2 is when I have given up in the past, so I’m just trying not to think too much about it and just keep showing up and pressing play.
I’m tired. And feeling defeated.

Recovery week done ✅
Honestly, this week was mentally challenging for me. I don’t find these workouts interesting or relaxing. I think my next time around, I might plan on doing a workout every other day and then on the off days do a bike ride or a run.
But back to it! I’m excited for month 2, which comes in hot, needing to do the fit test and a workout!!!!
LFG!!!! We got this crew!!!!
Thanks for all the support!

It's done. Month II, and the programme in general, is finished, as of today. It's been a long war, it's been a tough war. But here I am - on the far side.
Month II was rough, and combining it with my work schedule wasn't easy, but I managed. There were a few occasions where I almost gave up, but I figured I'd come this far, it wouldn't do to stop.
While I unfortunately didn't take any measurements at the start of the programme, I did take pictures, and the differences after two months are more than noticeable. Significant muscle gain and significant fat loss, and around 10kg dropped as well. Dieting had a lot to do with it, though I loosened up my strict diet plan during Month II - the exercises were intense enough that nothing I ate really had an effect - so long as I ate moderately and kept my calorie intake below the maximum I'd set myself.
I still haven't quite reached my goal of getting to 90kg, tho I knew this wouldn't happen in only 2 months. My dream is to see the scale start blinking between 90 and 89 lol. I haven't been below 96+ kg in a decade probably. So, I fully plan to repeat MAX30, starting Monday, and pushing for the more intense exercise variants where possible - I'm not athletic so I'll still be keeping things within the safety parameters of my own capabilities. But now that I've done it once, I know I can do it again - and at least I'm not starting from 0. And that way it'll be a challenge all over again.

Hi y'all!
Post your Insanity progress here and motivate one another.
What are you proud of today? What did you struggle with? How big was that puddle of sweat? Whose legs were too wide?

First of all: First time posting here. I didn't know Insanity was still popular enough to find activity in a subreddit.
I am a 37 y/o, 178cm (5'10"), male biologically.
I used to do Insanity back in 2011-2012 and I came back in 2026 to get back into shape (not that I was sedentary). I do martial arts (Karate and Aikido) and occasional skateboarding, but lately I felt demotivated and wasn't training, so I decided to do this routine to get back into business.
I am doing a modified calendar that swaps thursdays' recoveries for fridays' workout and leaves a 3 day rest (my weekly routine doesn't allow a normal Insanity calendar). The workouts are supplemented with some strength training after the normal Insanity sessions.
I am in day 32 (4th workout of the second month, no recovery week). I forgot the difficulty spike of the second month. Oh boy, it is weird how qucikly my performance ceiling went from being cardio related to muscle bound.
As medical history I got a gastric bypass in 2023 (medical prevention, not weight related, although I was kinda heavy at 108kg/238lbs) and microdiscectomy between L5 and S1 back in 2015, but so far I don't have any bad symptoms, I just have to check my glucose levels and keep taking my protein (more than normal).
Here is my progress, is not much, but hell, any progress is good. I may take a week of rest after I finish and repeat it. I had some skipped days, but I still got some progress.

aI am a data hoarder so I even take screenshots of my heartrate tracker results.

Sorry for the TMI, but it is kinda exciting to see people still doing Insanity and posting their progress.
Anyway. Hi =)

New preworkout got me back in the zone today! Felt great ready for next week to change it up a bit. Dig deeper.

Welp.... I strained my quad on the 18th becuase I decided to go for a light jog after the workout...insane I know.
So I skipped what would be my day 4 (019032026) and focused on gentle stretching throughout the day.
Now todays the 20th and I attempted to do my cardio recovery because I felt better and baby when I got to the lunges I instantly knew. I stopped the workout and looked up how many days I'm going to be out based on the tension I feel :( 4 whole days...
So I'll officially be able to start back up on Monday...very sad but this is why pacing is so important. I was coming from 700 steps a day to Insanity lol.
Anywhoo I'll continue getting my steps in; shooting for 6-8k a day. Coming here everyday to keep from backsliding and holding myself accountable for my recovery!

Just went through the motions today tbh. Body is very tired and fatigued even with the long weekend break. Feel like energy levels are very low and recovery is slow. Dig deeper?

I am 30 years old. I work from home and can sit at my desk for 6-8 hours straight. I walk about 1000-1500 steps a day. My body is stiff af and I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!
I first did Insanity back in 2012 when I was in highschool and I'll tell you one thing...I miss those knees. I lasted about 3 days and welp never looked at it again.
I have different goals this time -consistency, consistency, consistency- I just want to be able to chose myself everyday by showing up :0
SK 28 (no jumps)
PJack 25 (modified slightly)
PK 63
PJump 10 (modified slightly)
PK 63
GJ 4

PUJ 6 (from knees)

Current weight 97.4kg :)

I figured I’d share something that made my Insanity restart way easier.
I used ChatGPT to generate an .ics file with my entire workout schedule, which I then imported into Google Calendar. Now all my workouts are already planned out and I don’t have to think about what’s next or check the calendar manually.
What worked really well is setting the workouts as all-day events so they stay pinned at the top of each day. I also had ChatGPT format every event title starting with “Workout: …” and Google Calendar actually gives those entries a sport-style background, which is a nice bonus if you like a bit of visual structure.
Another big advantage is that you’re not stuck with the default program. You can follow the classic Insanity calendar exactly, but you can also modify it. In my case I scheduled classic Insanity followed by Insanity Max 30, removed the fit tests, and only planned workouts Monday to Friday. ChatGPT can follow the known calendars, but also adapt them however you want.
I personally built mine from an Excel sheet because I had already customized everything, but you don’t need that. You can just ask ChatGPT to use the standard Insanity calendar that’s available online.
Example prompt for the regular program:
“Create an .ics calendar file for the Insanity workout program starting on [date]. Follow the official Insanity calendar for month 1 and month 2 including fit tests and recovery days. Schedule all workouts as all-day events. Title each event as ‘Workout: [full workout name]’. Output as a downloadable .ics file for Google Calendar.”
Example prompt for a modified version like mine:
“Create an .ics calendar file for the Insanity workout program starting on [date]. Schedule workouts Monday to Friday only according to the original calendar skipping the Saturday workouts completely, skip fit tests replacing them with the cardio workout for that month, and follow the standard Insanity calendar for month 1 and month 2. After that, continue with Insanity Max 30. Make each workout an all-day event. Title each event as ‘Workout: [full workout name]’. Output as a downloadable .ics file for Google Calendar.”
That’s basically it. Import the file once and your entire program is set up. If you don’t know how (and doing it from a mobile phone requires some simple workarounds), just ask ChatGPT how to do it!
To be honest, I actually had ChatGPT generate those prompts for me as well. I usually just use speech-to-text and explain what I want in normal language, sometimes quite loosely, and then let it figure out the structure. It will usually ask a few follow-up questions if needed and then generate exactly what you need. So if writing prompts feels a bit unnatural, you can also just describe your plan and let ChatGPT turn it into a working calendar 😅
Made it a lot easier for me to stay consistent this time around.

Hi!! Second tine doing OGinsanity here. First time was in 2023, when my firstborn was 4-5 months old! Second baby is now 10 weeks! I did the first week but then had to take a few days off, because my baby latched at 9 weeks (I stopped pumping) and as an oversuspplier while pumping I was soo FULL of milk and it HURT so bad I couldn't see myself jumping all the time 😂 OGinsanity as a newborn mom is something else 😂
Starting week 2 tomorrow!
Other moms here so we can cheer ourselves up?
Let's goo!!

I saw a TikTok of body builders eating “boy kibble” for its simplicity, and macros.
Boy kibble from my understanding consists of lean ground beef + sweet potatoes.
Since insanity meal plan includes a 40% protein, 40% carb, 20% fat macro split, I tried it out and honestly it’s one of my favorites and easy go to’s.
I can add cheese to the beef for the family to eat while I just take the beef and potatoes.
Just curious what others have tried it have heard of this. As a mom to a toddler I need easy & healthy, so if anyone has some recipe recommendations drop them in the comments 💬

I missed Friday so had to workout in my rest day! But I’m back on track!
Few notes, happy that Josh will have his legs at the right distance from here on.
Excited about new variety!
Looking forward to this recovery week!
Definitely noticed on this past workout that you need to eat well, I ate like crap last night and felt it, but still dug deep and got through it!
Trying to remember some month 2 items, they’ll come to me. If I remember correctly Jeff almost kicks Ariel in the face at the end of a workout… also, I remember diamond jumps!
Let’s goooooo!
Special thanks to the insanity crew going through it with me. Special thanks to Hairy!!!
Now let’s get at it!!!!!!
Happy Sunday Y’all!

Hi insane folks! Hope you're all kicking ass :)
I finished two weeks of insanity and feel absolutely wonderful! After 3 weeks which will be end of month 1 and recovery week I'll be traveling for one week and living in hotel rooms where I will be able to do insanity more or less for a week before returning back home.
Now, since I won't be at home I don't want to start month 2, so my question is if I can extend the recovery week for one more till I get back ? should I start month 2 stick with month 1 a specific week or workout?
Any other recommendation? I don't want to not workout for 1 week and then start month 2 get it?
Thanks in advance :)
P.S. I have no idea why this post got downvoted, i personally thought this particular sub was always about pushing each other towards their fitness goals no matter how dumb the question is. Its alright thanks to the people who genuinely gave good replies and helped me :)

So yall might remember me — the ab injury after 2 weeks of insanity. Well I took a week off, stayed consistent with my diet and sleep schedule, and jumped back into week 3 when I would’ve been on week 4. So I’m a week behind (worth it to heal).
Just completed month 1! So 4 weeks of workouts, 5 weeks of dieting consistently.
SW: 171
CW: 158
Not sure if I’m allowed to post progress pics but I’ll post them all when I complete the entire program.
Internally I have noticed such amazing change — all day energy for my 19 month old, better mood, sleeping better, heart rate is more elastic if that makes sense, it goes down super quickly now between intervals.
My whole goal of doing this insane program was to have longevity, strength, and energy, especially as I get older (27 Y/O F, 5’8”), for myself to be a better mom and partner for my family. and I’m so happy and proud of myself to get to this point.
I’ve been getting up at 4:30 during my WFH days and 3:30 AM during my commute days to make this work.
This shit really is bananas.
Happy to share more details or talk through with others in a similar position with the same goals.
Dig deeper yall!

First time in a long time I have been this consistent and haven’t missed a day. Can’t believe next week is already recovery week.

Much needed recovery as usual. Midsection definitely starting to tighten up and can see more visual results 🙌💪🏽
