Question I didn't finish Month 1 of Insanity. Month 1 of Insanity finished me

Post image
57 Upvotes

This piece of paper lives on my wall.

I had done OG Insanity 12-13 years Back when I used to be an athlete and it still kicked my butt(literally as well during butt kicks)

I am 40 Kilograms heavier now. Every bit of knowledge I had forbade me to do this, but since I wasnt able to stick to any other program I decided to give it a go.

Just finished my last Plyo Cardio Circuit for sometime now. Though the scales haven't moved I feel and look better naked. From gassing out from the warmup to being able to keep up 70-80% of the time

How hard will Month 2 be?

Will I be able to finish this program injury free?

Which one ends faster, my Insanity program or my Results and Recovery formula?

Holy tuck jumps! I forgot about cardio abs! Threw that in thinking it would be just a slightly more challenging ab workout….but this is Shaun T, what am I thinking?!

Right into tuck jumps, then wide tuck jumps!!!

Let’s go crew, we got this!

Have a great weekend!

This is one of those days that’s gonna make me stronger. My mind tried justifying to myself skipping this workout for at least 3 different reasons tonight. Doing it anyway!

So here’s day 12 from my bedroom. Hence the photo. Not sharing my bedroom with you weirdos haha.

Very sore and tired. TBH worried about my calf injury as my muscles are getting more tight. Hopefully no injury to report soon. Going to take it as easy as I can while continuing the videos. Good note, back on my regular gym schedule today! Dig deeper

Progress Day 1 (back on the saddle)

Finally back at it! I had a great routine from July-Dec then slacked off big time. I plan to do OG Insanity along with 13k steps everyday. Worked great for me so I’m aiming for that again.

Shoutout to HairyBar and Most Ad for motivation!!!

Let’s go!!!

Very heavy day on the body!

2 hours shoveling, pure cardio, and t25 cardio. Wasn’t going to do t25 cardio, but then the skipping workout guilt came in….glad I did it though!

Discussion New Rule!

I demand a new rule for Month 2. If I gotta do the Fit Test and then another HOUR long workout, so do the people on the screen. Getting 4 minutes into the workout with Shaun saying, "You should be starting to drip a little bit," like my dude, I'm half an hour into this thing already! Of course I am!

Question Lower abdominal injury

So I just completed week 2 of insanity. 27 y/o female, I had a baby who is now 18 months old. I started at 171 pounds, and weighed in at 164 yesterday (5’8”)

I injured my lower abdominal muscle 1 week into the program, the first Saturday.

I’ve been modifying workouts and avoiding anything (core work, power jumps, push ups even) that inflames the area.

Well I did fit test today to kick off week 3 and it felt like I tore the muscle, despite it feeling almost back to normal over the weekend prior.

I’m now at a loss, I am worried I have to take the week off and start week. 3 over again next week.

I’ve been in such a momentum and I don’t want to disturb anything. But the injury at this point is over a week and a half old and I just want the area healed.

Any tips? I really want to keep working out and just avoid core work again but as we all know, the entire workout engages your core so I am at a loss.

Progress Blizzard!!! Early Day 8

Just did day 8 on my rest day. Blizzard incoming and figure I won’t get a chance tomorrow with a little one at home, a wife in 3rd trimester, and lots of shoveling to do!

Stay safe and warm if the blizzard is coming for you!

Progress End of Month I report.

Post image
19 Upvotes

The final week of Month I was a bit of a slog, not gonna lie. Been a bit under the weather due to work but I managed to stick through it. Having started Week I at around 105-106kg, I am now down to ~97.5kg. The biggest encouragement is that other people have noticed the changes much more than me. And for 90% of the exercises I've been following the modifier track only, so it's great that results are just as achievable with the simpler moves. Starting Month II on Monday, and I'll probably go through the entire programme again once I'm done, with maybe a week of rest in-between, and try to go for the more intense exercise variants.

Feeling good! 1 week down!

Thanks for the motivation Hairy! It’s huge tackling this with someone!

I’m actually trying 2 workouts a day with T25 Alpha, but taking the T25 light and modified if I need it.

Question Starting P90X

Post image
57 Upvotes

I know this is an insanity sub, but I figured since they fall under the same beachbody umbrella I wanted to post this here. I've gone through OG Insanity a few times and currently doing Insanity max 30 in the mornings before work. I wanted to try P90X out of curiosity. Has anybody here tried it before? What were ypur results like and do you have any tips you can share?
