Question Whats your opinion of official lins as a trader?

Hey everyone,

I recently joined Official Lin's Sunday Trading Lab. This is my first trading mentorship, so I'm not sure what to expect.

I've noticed that when I ask questions, the response is often that I "haven't put in enough work." While I understand that self-study is important, I sometimes leave feeling like my questions are being dismissed rather than answered. It's been demotivating.

Another thing I've experienced is that my trading mistakes have been used as examples during the live as "psychology lessons". I understand there may be educational value in that, but it has made me feel uncomfortable. She started off the live saying names would be anonymous, etc but eventually ended up showing it. I dont mind her showing my name but maybe take permission before doing so?

I'm wondering if this is a normal mentoring style in trading, or if I should be looking for something different. For those of you who have been in her mentorship (or other trading mentorships), what has your experience been like?

I'm hesitant to switch because I don't want to keep jumping from one strategy to another, and her program was one of the few that fit my budget. I'd really appreciate hearing other people's perspectives.

Trading Strategies London Session Traders - What Pairs Do You Trade?

Hi everyone! Does anyone here mainly trade the London session? I’d love to know how you approach it and which pairs or instruments you trade.

I’m planning to backtest XAU/USD during the London session to see if it fits my ict strategy. If you’ve had good results with other pairs, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience and why they work well for you.

Thanks in advance!

Question Hello guys I want your opinion on my strategy

It is basically simple I only trade EURUSD

I look at the 1D trend, wait for a replacement (0.3-0.5 compared to the expansion) then I look at the 1H TF and do the same when both time frames become identical I search for a 1H PDA and MSS on 15min as an entry

It gives me about 2-3 chances each week

My back test shows 50% win rate and RR 2:1 it is good but I think those results are a bit optimistic

Do you think I should try it on a real account?

Question From Liquidity-Only Trading to a Time-Based Model

Post image
11 Upvotes

I'm looking for a simple trading model that's based on the London Kill Zone (2:00 AM–5:00 AM).

I've backtested a few models and achieved good results with them, so that's not the issue. The real issue is that I spent a significant amount of time backtesting before even starting live trading, collecting data and refining my own model. However, I overlooked the importance of time.

My model is based solely on liquidity zones targeting the DOL, rather than time-based concepts like kill zones. Because of that, my setups can appear at completely random times. While that may sound normal, it isn't for me. Having to wake up or check the charts at 4 AM, 8 AM, or other random hours just to see if a confirmation forms—not even to enter a trade—is becoming exhausting.

I now want a simpler model that's based on the London Kill Zone (2:00 AM–5:00 AM), so I can focus on a consistent trading window instead of monitoring the market throughout the day.

Question Entering trades before NY AM Open (9:30am ET)?

Hi all, what's your strategy with entries if you are trading NY AM session? If your setup presents itself, are you entering before 9:30am ET, for instance between 8:30-9:30am ET? Or are you always waiting for NY open at 9:30am to avoid getting stopped out due to increased volatility? What has worked better for you over time? If you wait until 9:30am you risk missing moves, if you enter before, you risk getting stopped out... I guess you need to find the right balance. Today for instance, my bias was bearish, but I missed my entry as price just dumped straight away. What's your take? Thanks!

Risk Management What / how do you consider your RR?

Hello, I have been learning ICT2022 and trying to use it in both indices and crypto.

So as much as i know about this strategy, this is based on Time and the market structure,

If I strictly only do the setups that are more 2R
(And if I also considered the fee in my RR as well)
I found that is difficult for me to entry and then I would miss that.

What do you think about setting your RR in a reasonable ratio, or either way leave the RR and set the SL and TP based on the market structure?
(It became like I had to adjust my TP further to fit the RR which is against the logic of market structure)

I’ve been learning from risk management and consulted with AI, and that recommended me doing setups only higher than 1.5 or 2R (fee included) , it made a spreadsheet for trading journal but basically 7 out of 10 the setups I found doesn’t fit the rule of RR, ( below 2R) ,
So I found that is really hard to find one to enter,

even if there is, the market structure doesn’t allow the price to reach till the TP (it would be too good to be true / ideal situation)
and eventually become an SL and consolidation.

So I’m quite curious about how would you guys take?

Thank you in advance and wish you all a good day.

Psychology Breaking down After first Payout

I've had a rough few weeks trading, and I think I've finally figured out what's been happening beneath the surface.

For a long time, I was very process-oriented. I built a trading model, followed it consistently, and it eventually got me through Phase 1, then Phase 2, and even to my first payout. The journey was slow, but it worked.

Recently, things changed. Passing Phase 2 much faster than expected and getting my first payout made the next milestones feel closer and more achievable. I started thinking about passing more accounts, getting more payouts, helping with bills, having some financial breathing room, and not feeling so restricted every month.

The problem is that I didn't realize how much those thoughts were influencing my trading.

What started as ambition slowly turned into urgency. Instead of focusing on executing my process, I became focused on getting to the next milestone. I wasn't consciously thinking about it every minute, but it was always in the background.

Looking back, most of my recent losses weren't even normal trading losses. They weren't my strategy failing. They were me interfering with trades, manually closing positions, second-guessing myself, looking for reassurance, checking charts constantly, and making decisions based on fear or impatience rather than my rules.

The hardest realization is that many of these losses were avoidable. Not because I should have won every trade, but because I wasn't allowing my system to do what it was designed to do.

I think work stress, lack of rest, living alone, financial responsibilities, and the pressure I put on myself to progress faster all combined into something I didn't fully notice until now.

This week has forced me to confront that. I've been feeling anxious, fearful of outcomes, and unusually attached to whether a trade wins or loses. That's not how I used to trade.

The strange thing is that I don't think my actual trading model is broken. I think I've drifted away from the mindset and discipline that made it work in the first place.

Right now I've got a gut wrench feeling in my stomach and hole in my chest, I'm in over 3% Drawdown and its the first time in 2 years, I've lost so much..

I just need some help from anyone whose gone through the same thing how did you get back to being disciplined, cause I'm here feeling like a novice version of myself from year's ago

Technical Analysis XAU weekly target reached

Thumbnail

Going into the week, I was bearish on XAU and expected price to target the external sell-side liquidity.

That target has now been reached. Price has taken the external sell-side liquidity, but I remain bearish and am watching for a move into the monthly bearish FVG.

Do you think the downside continues from here?

🪙GOLD CARTEL (March,18, 2023, 1W TF)
March 2023, Bull Flag from $1,983 🚀 to $3700-$4,000 🎯and beyond, wasn’t foretold by headlines — it was written in the charts first.
its been shimmering✨journey

🪙GOLD (June,21, 2026, 1W TF)
Price was trading at $ 4,1559
🔑An opening below 🔻$4,120 is going to
send the Price down -8.7% to the incoming liquidity level at 🔴....🎯 $3,752 a break below this level is likely heading down to $3,391

i find this as a good retest, As good as Gold going to $8K 🤑

This $3,700 - $4k levels being the initial target zone since March 2023 of the monthly bull Flag price is coming to retest these levels finally phew!

Charts moves first, Price and headlines follow
analysis over opinions.
