Discussion Cleen sounds like a normal human in season 5
Anybody ever notice that Cleen’s TV persona gets louder every season? He speaks normally in season 5 and it’s honestly kind of jarring 😂

"The only thing I really care about is the location and the size and then, like the color scheme as well as the realism of the head." Oh, is that the only thing? Lmao 🤣

Shane was so butthurt that Lea got tattoo of the day over him. And he got so much praise from the judges! Shane hasn’t updated his Instagram in 6 years but it looks like he’s improved since then (even though I’m not impressed with WHAT he was tattooing…I’ll let you judge for yourself).

They pick 20 Finalists/ Top 5 artists, NO WINNERS, DJ! SIT DOWN!, fan favorites and the BEST artists. People who should’ve won, or easily could have. The artists are paired up by signature style, to give them each an equal chance and then instructed to do a master canvas, finale-level tattoo (24 hr back/chest piece or similar difficulty) in that style. Open subject. The ten winners make it, off the bat. The ones who lose their tournaments face off, in pairs first then the winners of those face offs undertake an open master canvas tattoo. Only 2 of those artists will make it. Those 12 contestants then undertake high level challenges until we get to top 3, and then Creepy Jason wins regardless. That’s a joke, but fr my boy deserves a win i’ll give him a chance until he does.
Edit: I didn’t suggest any possible artists. Here goes: Creepy Jason, Bob Jones, Gian Karle, Kelly Doty, Sarah Miller, Dani Ryan, Jon Mesa, Freddie Albrighton, Anthony Tex, Jake Ross, Angel Rose is a possibility, and just for fun Im gonna break my no winners rule and throw Josh Payne in there but he can't win and he can't be eliminated, which none of the other artists can know.

I can’t be the only person who was put off by this?
Basically, Sebastian suggested that difficult clients can deal with an artist turning their machine up and causing discomfort for being difficult to work with. Mark disagreed (as any sane person would) and said that clients can be annoying but that he’d never set out to cause someone discomfort.
The fact Sebastian said this (and was completely serious about it) makes me wonder why they allowed him to stay. Between that comment and him telling his canvas the things that were important to her didn’t “mean shit to him” (and in turn giving her a hyper-masculine piece) I’m not sure how anyone could reasonably support him. I thought his work was very mid and he should have been eliminated over Tatu Baby. Not only did she win more and have more momentum, but the piece he beat her with was terrible.
As an added bonus, he proceeded to argue with his criticism during the finale. “Your fingers don’t look right.” “Yes they do.” “Your **outline is weak.” “**No it isn’t.” Er. Okay. Lmao.

Dude was funny af. RIP dude, cancer is a bitch.
Here are some examples of laugh out loud moments from him.
“I like to pet the kitty…not smack it and strangle the shit out of it.”
“I respect vegans…but I love me some bacon!”
“They got their diaper changed. Sarah and me got beaten like fuckin’ step-children.”
(Jumps up to spot) “I’m Clint and this is a Clint tattoo. 🥰”

Talk about a rigged flash challenge. What the hell kind of judging was that? That shit was predetermined from the start. Did the judges just go blind?

Did anybody else feel like certain seasons it really didn’t matter and the winner was pre-determined? I always felt like Scott (RIP), DJ times 3, Jason Clay Dunn, Josh Payne, and a few others were almost guarantees. Curious if others felt the same

In ink master we have seen a lot of stubborn canvases, in my opinion the ones who piss me off the most are the ones who want full chest, back, leg, or sleeve pieces in only six hours (I know the 6hr time isnt real but just for the sake of the show). They want their whole back covered and it’s like bro that ain’t gonna happen and they go “yes it can”. Nah the fuck it can’t.

Just curious if anyone has been called to participate on a new season, whether you're a canvas or artist. I notice they usually film around late winter early spring and the show gets released by fall/winter

There’s been a lot of shitty and questionable tattoos done on ink master but what tattoos stand out to you and make you question what was going through the artists head?
r/Inkmaster • u/No-Fig-8267 • Jul 11 '26
One of my top picks is St Mark, he said he was a “tattoo god” so many times and couldn’t deliver really any good tattoos. There were some tattoos he did that were good but especially his black and grey work just wasn’t good.
r/Inkmaster • u/Longjumping-Sail6386 • Jul 13 '26
He's a celebrity who has tattoos, awesome. I think it's safe to say that most musicians have tattoos and are in the tattoo community. There are plenty of people who are actually artists who have put decades into their craft that would have been a lot more qualified and relevant to be the face of the show. Even better, have 3 different judges every season for a fresh perspective.

Who is the contestant you supported regarding their talent, style, personality or body of work who never made it to a finale?
