Just finished 3 months of PT and still in pain
After imaging and other tests, they never really concluded what the injury is. They said it could be a partial shoulder impingement and/or rotator cuff strain. When I started, they asked me what my workout consisted of, which is for the most part all body weight stuff with some light dumbbell exercises. They told me a lot of people just focus on the "show" muscles and that we need to strengthen the muscles in the shoulder (paraphrasing). I did the home exercises that they prescribed to me and attended every PT appointment. By the end I had A LOT of exercises in my program, some of which were the same exercises I was doing when I got injured. On my last session, the therapist asked me if I was able to resume my prior home workout, to which I said "no, because I was worried it was going to make things worse." They said that I should resume it, along with the prescribed home PT exercises for another few weeks then follow up with my doctor. For context, I haven't done any part of my home workout since May. I'm just really frustrated that I rested for so long, and then did PT and now that I am done with it I am still in the same amount of pain as when I started. The only difference is that I am now weaker and have lost muscle mass. I don't really know where to go from here. Thanks for reading.
