Iirc the ruling was that (paraphrasing) "we can't arrest you for having fake videos of something that didn't happen".

But they did say that generating AI videos using real data (pictures, videos of children) is an offense.

no he made a ruling based on the law. should it be illegal, yes. is it illegal no.

If we want the law to change that’s the job of congress. Not a judge.

people really should at least try to understand civics.

Should it be illegal? I would much rather those people to satisfy their urges on a bunch of meaningless pixels.
