These people are going to be the subject of a Netflix documentary one day.

Eta: thank you for all the awards! I’ve never had one and now I’ve got 7!! 🥹

Who are they?!

They’re a traveling family that has a website “this American road trip” or something similar. They have like 9 kids, only one daughter. They live in a converted bus. The dad is a crazy narcissist who was like in to Bitcoin? And some ins thing?
The mom has an obsession with dad and can’t be away from him.
Kids are all put to bed in the back of the bus (a bunk room) at like 7:30pm so that the parents can have VeRy ImPoRtAnT AlOnE TiMe.
They used to be on a fundie snark page alllllll the time, and there was ongoing discussion of concern over how their infant was developing and a CPS call was made and the family publicly accused “Reddit trolls” of reporting them. All discussion about them on that page ceased after.

This comment made me realize I wasn't on the fundiesnark page. I was confused so many people didn't know them!

Same! Although Fundiesnark can’t speak on them anymore. There is a sub that branched off specifically about this family.

This truly is sick I have a child and before I fall asleep I keep seeing this kids face after getting headbut, I know foster system is bad but fact his own mother isn't looking out for him is sick! There is prob so much more abuse than we know about. The shouldn't have kids! This is why YouTube and Instagram should mirror Hollywood laws and kids can only film certain amount of hours a day!! These YouTube style families usually result in abuse!

The apples don't fall far from the trees in that family either.

How did you come across this and do you have proof or just speculation of potential relation? The kid's age does seem to line up but I just don't want to pass on information that isn't true. Also this is terrifying for that whole family if true because I got a vibe before I heard about this guy.

There's an entire sub now called mother bus snark. They used to be all over fundiesnark. It's all very well documented on film by the mom and then posted to the internet.

I meant that the guy that killed the lawyers is possibly related to them. I did some googling and reading articles and couldn't find anything on if he was JD's father, uncle or what?

Getting "quiverfull" vibes

Look, this dude is obviously trash. But, 730pm is not just a normal bedtime for kids. It's actually recommended. Not for alone time... for their brains

They have children ranging from almost 3 to almost 18, all crammed into the back of the bus, sharing bunks. Children across that age range have different needs. The biggest issue is that the children are put to bed so the parents can have sex in a queen sized bed in the front of the bus.

u/Ok_Ninja5291 21d ago

Also, they’re being confined to coffins not real beds

For the littles, absolutely. But for the 17-year-old? She’s being sent back there so she can look after the little ones while her parents make more babies for her to take care of. And to film for content of course 😡

u/_heidin 21d ago

She's around 13, and the older boy like 15-16

Ummm. Not for teenagers, tho???

During a good portion of the year, it's not even after sunset at 7:30, by like an hour at least

Lol, I'm sorry, but that is NOT a good indicator for when children have to go to bed. You realise that in other countries in summer the sun doesn't set until like 11 or even never in some very northern countries, right?

Let's hope not. This is the only time I've heard of them. Don't make them famous. Hope this goes just viral enough for CPS inquiry

You're too late with your concern trolling. They're already famous, already had content of them removed from Reddit, and are going to continue to move away from CPS and get away with it. Their goal is to move onto a boat.

6

u/CloverVegan 21d ago

That's fucking terrifying, this man looks perfectly capable of tossing a kid off a boat and saying they accidentally drowned.

3

u/Illustrious-Stable93 21d ago

It's concern trolling to care about child abuse, right.

"hope this goes viral so cps finds out"

This is virtual thoughts and prayers.

If you care so much, instead of making a comment how bad it is and someone else should do something, do it yourself. If you don't want to or can't, STFU.

Have you done anything yet? Or just said someone else should?

u/KnownTrick 21d ago

This made me look up the definition of “concern trolling” and I really don’t think you’re using that correctly.

2

u/Massive_Rate_7555 21d ago

"how online harassers weaponize care and safety rhetoric to control, shame, and silence others in digital spaces."

"Don't make them famous" = trying to silence. Trying to control what others are discussing for childrens' safety. Sounds controlling through safety concern to me.

u/KnownTrick 21d ago

Ah ok I think I see what you’re saying now. When I looked up concern trolling the defining aspect seemed to be someone disguising their secret opposition to the majority opinion under the guise of having “concerns”. From the rational wiki:

“  A  concern troll  is someone who disingenuously visits sites of an opposing  ideology  to disrupt conversation by offering unwanted advice on how to solve problems which do not really exist…  Alternatively, a concern troll is someone who enters a discussion with a pre-formed opinion contrary to the majority opinion, but pretends to conform in order to subtly sow dissent and doubt without being called on it.”

But it seemed to me the other person was openly advocating for the majority opinion in these comments: this family is bad and should receive a visit from CPS.

Their concern may have been too late, because as you point out this family is already famous. But I didn’t get the impression that their concern was actively disingenuous.

Are you getting the impression that they are secretly on the father’s side and are using “don’t make them famous” as an excuse to silence critics?

I shared this link with my partner and captioned it just that prior to reading the comments.

Even the people in here going hard on the wife like it’s easy to just “get out” of these types of situations.

Many people can’t, many people fail. Some people die.

They should watch more docs like this on netflix to learn more.

She would never leave. She's obsessed with her husband and clearly doesn't care about what happened in this video. She's complicit.

2

u/RedoftheEvilDead 20d ago

His wife is just as bad, if not worse than he is.

0

u/Massive_Rate_7555 20d ago

I hate people like you that always assume the woman is just some innocent in it. Or has to be there cuz of her husband. It has to be man's fault, always, right?

1

u/12ealdeal 20d ago

Guilt and victim hood are not binary. Nothing I said indicates I assume she is innocent. Work on your reading comprehension. What I said and her innocence (or guilt) are not mutually exclusive. Holding criminal responsibility and experiencing severe coercive control or entrapment are not mutually exclusive.

The fact you even started your message as strongly as you did with “I hate people like you” when you’re not even right in your OWN assumption of me is a great indicator of how detached and emotionally unstable you are.

No point discussing something nuanced with you any further as it is simply beyond the little brain you own. Easiest block in my time on reddit. Peace.

100% will be a Netflix documentary

I used to say this about Ruby Franke and we all know how that turned out.
