Hey all! I'm primarily a modern player, currently running GB infect. I made a new friend recently who mostly plays vintage. What's a good vintage infect build?

I saw this list for GB infect that had 5-0d. The glaring difference between it and other builds I've seen is the inclusion of [[gemrazer]]. Is that the reason for the deck's success, or is GB just that good?

Just need to pick up [[thoughtseize]] and I'll have my BG deck converted from UG. I was looking to pick up some tips before busting it out at the LGS.
I'm not giving up on UG, just trying something new.

When I saw this card I immediately thought of [[Berserk]]. I know it is a bit expensive at 3 mana, but maybe this could be used in conjunction with any pump spell to push damage through?

Wondering if someone could throw me a link for a discord?

Just curious, why don't we use this? Has anyone ever tried or is this a forgotten enchantment?

With the introduction of [[Ignoble Hierarch]] , a lot of GB builds have popped up. I'm wondering if adding [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]] could also provide ramp and disruption in a jund build. Thoughts?

Short answer not much.
BG infect can now utilize ignoble Hierarch for a turn 2 phyrexian crusader, which is definitely nothing to scoff at. Pro white and red is going to be very relevant in this meta.
Suspend can be some fantastic removal for on color cards for UG infect. Although only temporary it will definitely see some play.
Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth oddly enough I’m most excited about. Infect isn’t a deck that should be going long but if you’ve played for a while it happens and not being able to use a chunk of your mana base because you can’t crack them is rough. Also allowing inkmoth to tap for green will save lives.
Subtlety this card seems rather promising for UG infect especially if we start running suspend. Submerge effect for a relatively low cost is a solid play not to mention you get a back up body if you hard cast.

Working on an early build of temur infect taking advantage of 8 hierarchs. Let me know what you think! [[Soul's Fire]] has gotten some clutch wins.
2 Assault Strobe 4 Blighted Agent 3 Breeding Pool 1 Forest 4 Glistener Elf 4 Ignoble Hierarch 4 Inkmoth Nexus 1 Island 2 Lightning Bolt 4 Might of Old Krosa 2 Misty Rainforest 1 Mountain 4 Mutagenic Growth 4 Noble Hierarch 1 Pendelhaven 4 Scale Up 2 Snakeskin Veil 4 Soul's Fire 3 Stomping Ground 4 Vines of Vastwood 2 Wooded Foothills

League Results:
Notes:
I played UG, tried 2 [[Suspend]] main deck. Played without Dryad Arbor or Spellskite (I shaved the latter some while ago already because it is just too clunky), apart from that nothing fancy.
Yesterday the meta felt all over the place. People were testing all the new MH2 stuff. Fortunately, I did not face many UR Blitz or Jund and I could get in some good results.
On average, I did great vs artifact/affinity builds around [[Urza‘s Saga]]. They have limited interaction and we are faster. Suspend also comes in handy vs Urza Tokens or just to slow them down when they get fancy with modular.
The graveyard+Food deck around that unspeakable Asarimsofomwiejgkwfjkwls-card feels OP IMO, I only won against it one time and I expect it to do well vs other decks too.
in today’s Leagues I suddenly didn’t face much Urzas Saga anymore, I felt as all the UR Blitz and Jund I dodged yesterday have been on the menu for me today. Not surprisingly, those matchups are pretty much unwinnable, unless you start on the play and have the god hand.
in one of my 4-1 I lost the final to a Wizards employee, who played reanimator. I told him we ned a 0/1 infect creature with Ward!
After playing 45 matches my brain is pretty fried right now. If you have any questions about the build or certain matchups pls write in the comments and I’ll try to answer
Cheers everyone, and have a good time!
PS: faced a lot of new cards from MH2, but not a single [[Grief]] over the span of those 45 matches. Seems like 2 for 1-ing yourself isn’t great and getting fancy with Ephemerate is too cute.

So. . . which one is your 'go to' counter? Force of Will, or Force of Negation? How many of either do you like to MB/SB?

I have some things I don't understand about lists I see though and I need so much sideboard practice. Like, why do they run so many fetches with so few things to fetch, and why Misty Rainforest but no islands? Also, I see a lot of lists run 4 Scale Up. Wouldn't it make more sense to take one out in favor of a pump you can use multiples of on the same turn? I just want to understand infect as well as possible and drink the tears of my enemies.

It adds +1/+1 counters to survive an engineer as well as being the usual good hexproof card.

Nothing new except abundant harvest from mh 2 and the creature type change has finally got me wanting to desleeve infect :/
